The only hobby they’ve ever supported is sailing, and that’s just cause it’s the only one they made me try that I enjoyed. They tried to get me to play a sport or an instrument many times, and while playing music is quite sports we’re awful. And now even as I’m a grown independent man with his own money, they scoff at my video games.
And I never let them know about my anime or gunpla.
My only hobby is doing psychedelic drugs, so no.
my mom caught me watching anime
Not really, occasionally they will feign interest and ask me some unenthusiastic questions about something I'm doing. I would rather they just don't bother asking me instead of making me talk to them about something they clearly have no interest in. It's always been this way, doesn't matter what it is, I've studied some interesting stuff and they can hardly even pretend that they care which in turn makes me pretty disappointed about it, I kinda want my parents to be interested in what I'm doing or think it's cool. When I was a teenager I spent weeks working on a really interesting programming project that was really tough, I implemented some advanced algorithms that were way beyond most kids my age, I remember showing it to my parents excitedly and they just gave a half-hearted "Oh, that's nice!, Very cool!" which left me feeling utterly shattered. I feel like tons of kids had parents that actually cared, all my parents ever wanted me to do was play an instrument or a sport, they couldn't care less about anything else. Since 18 or so whenever they ask me what I'm doing I just say nothing, that's good enough, not like they would care what I was doing anyway, it saves everyone the trouble of pretending that it was a genuine question.
My parents don't care enough about me to support or even dissuade my hobbies.

This is what I hate most about normalfag social customs. You’re supposed to do all these things, but no one actually cares so it’s always a hollow back and forth that no one ever benefits from.
