If swelling is detected, consider taking idodine or idodide drops daily for a while and that should clear up and lymph node congestion. If they say your tonsils need to come out, reject it and seek some sort of antibacterial treatment. Tonsils play a vital part in immune function and the procedure of taking them out is a relic from the filthy third world. Take a Fisherman's Friend.

Iodine and Iodide can pick up, shrink, dissolve, and carry out various micromatters that get stuck in the filters of the body, particularly the lymphatic system. Cells killed by radiation get carried away before further decaying and causing an immune response in the form of white blood cells, etc. Personally I had swollen lymph nodes for as long as could remember that caused pain when turning my head, but they cleared up after taking 2 drops daily for about 2 weeks.

I had an issue with swallowing solid food where I couldn't initiate the swallow and couldn't eat right for a year, just soft foods, fucking mashed potatoes and soups for every meal. I went to the doctor, but the bitch couldn't even do the exam correctly since it would trigger my gag reflex with the instrument, so I just said fuck it in my usual avoidant style, if it's cancer, just let it kill me. Then it went away on its own. No clue if it was psychological or an actual medical problem. At one point I legit thought it was a curse and my mother went to some witch doctor and we burned some pieces of paper with Arabic words on it. Couple months after that it started clearing up. Coincidence? Maybe, heh. I'm just glad it went away. Almost pushed me over the edge…
