What are you going to do about someone who walks in and detonates a couple of stacks of TNT in your base while everyone else is asleep? You might say that retaliation can act as both deterrence and remedy, but you don't necessarily know who did it and it doesn't return the hours of work that you lost. >dont propagate the cycles of revenge
You're missing the point and clearly do not understand the implications of the initial event. Whether or not I took revenge was completely irrelevant because the security of the commune and all of its geographically-connected associates had already been irreparably destroyed. I decided to take revenge because no one would have realized this until they had put even more hours into the server.
Let's say for a moment that I had done nothing, and all the wizards in the commune banded together and helped me rebuild. What exactly is stopping the griefer from destroying everything again? Even if you know who the griefer is and have banished him from the commune, there is nothing you can do to stop him from coming back to the same coordinates when everyone is offline. He also won't be banned because the server has no rules. The only solution is to move somewhere where no one else can find me, which precludes the good-natured wizards from rendering aid because I do not know who to trust. The same applies to the commune as a whole: there is a griefer in your midst, and he knows your location. There is nothing you can do except move and hope that he doesn't follow. And then you have to hope that none of your current members are unidentified griefers and that initiates of the commune are trustworthy.
The fact that the server has no rules and no countermeasures against griefing means that even the slightest contamination damages all connected components beyond repair.

>>40897Are you ignoring everything I write on purpose? I am advocating for the addition of rules and anti-grief/rollback plugins. Your metaphor establishes a false premise in which the griefing is merely unsolved. In this "neighborhood", it doesn't matter whether crime is solved or not: the crime is unstoppable. The only two solutions are to leave or introduce some means of enforcement.
>try to justifyI make no attempts to morally justify my retaliation. My primary reason for doing it was to make a point, which you can take however you like. However, it is a fact that my actions were "justified" within the context of the server rules, which is the fundamental problem that I am trying to explain. I would have been content playing the game peacefully, but as I said before: once a single bad actor knows your location, it's over.

The bottom line is, if you're arguing that you were innocent and he wronged you and you acted in revenge, then you're admitting that fucking with people's stuff is wrong, therefore fucking up with even more innocent peoples stuff makes you an even worse person than whoever did that to you. There's really nothing else I can say, this is crystal clear no matter how much you cling to your false belief of self-righteousness. No.40907
>>40906>if you're arguing that you were innocent and he wronged you and you acted in revengeYou seriously need to work on your reading comprehension. I could have simply waited for him to grief the commune himself, but then the discussion would be focused around the trivial matter of blame rather than the real issues at hand: the lack of countermeasures against griefing and the fact that griefing is allowed on the server in the first place. Unfortunately, no one seems capable of understanding this and the server owner doesn't care about griefing, so my attempt was unsuccessful. You could've approached this issue at hand through a plethora of ways.
1. Inform the members of the commune.
You could inform the members of the commune that a griefer was at large. Even if the griefer was informed, the rest of the commune would have been as well, and they would have the chance to create an end chest and put their stuff in that, put the rest in shulker boxes and have a chance at moving. I myself have lost everything, and am now left with iron tools when I formerly had enchanted elytra wings, a wholly enchanted diamond armour, enchanted diamond tools and shulker boxes filled to the brim with resources. I lost a lot because of your presumptions - weeks of work under a period of my life where I am extremely busy, unstable and depressed.
2. Done nothing.
You could've done nothing, moved away and then let the commune destroy itself from the inside. Why did you have the urge to send your scorn and roil the commune with your explosives when it wouldn't really do anything to help bring back the stuff you lost? All you did was cause more pain, and you know that just as well as I do.
3. Left the server.
Simple enough: you could've just left the server. You're not happy with people griefing your base despite it being an anarchy server, and as such, you could've just left the server. I acknowledge that you might think that's hypocritical as I am still playing despite you ruining everything we've built up, but the difference is that we were griefed by someone we thought was nice, by someone we had our trust in. I seriously thought that you were a nice person. Even while you griefed my base without my knowledge, you spoke to me like a fellow friendly wizard. It's a backstab, it's a betrayal, and it pierces my heart with unimaginable pain - to think that even wizards cannot be trusted in this time of strife.
So to summarize - what you did was objectively wrong. You've ruined tons of work for the actions of one, and as such, you are the only one that the blame of our base's destruction lies upon.
Apologies for my poorly structured ramblings. I'm emotional as I am writing this, considering the time and effort I've laid into it especially during a busy period of my life. I'm sad, just like many of us fellow wizards, and you just made me even sadder.
Fuck you. I hate you with every fiber of my being. If I only knew where you lived so that I could impose my revenge unto you, then I would.

>>40986>elytra wings, diamond armor, diamond tools, shulker boxesNone of these were in any of the chests that I destroyed, and I checked all of them. Either you're lying and you never had them/still have them in your Ender chest, or they were gone before I got there. As a whole, the entire commune had approximately equal to, if not less than the amount of resources and tools formerly in my base.
>Inform the communeI certainly could have informed the commune, but that wouldn't have solved anything. The server owner didn't care about spawn being griefed, but he had shown some interest in the commune. It was possible that its destruction would convince him to add anti-grief mechanisms. I wasn't technically part of the commune, so I assumed that the owner wouldn't care if my base was destroyed. It turns out that he cared about neither of them.
>Done nothing/left the serverIf I had done nothing, then I would not have been able to effectively use the commune's destruction as an attempt to convince the server owner (and more generally to show the folly of an anarchy server). It didn't work, of course, but I hold that it was more effective than using my own base for that instead. The outcome was also the same: the destruction of the commune; if the commune had not already been lost, then I would not have destroyed it. In the server's current state, communal life is impossible, and you can only play as a hermit far enough away that no one will ever find you.
I also trusted the members of the commune, so don't pretend you're the only one that was betrayed.

It may be possible to move your character in the handful of seconds you have to input your password but I am not sure. Maybe the solution would even be as simple as someone pushing you out of the portal or destroying/deactivating it.
We would need to have some type of communication to set that up. Respond back to this post and let me know if you would rather use discord, steam or email and ill produce a link.

>>41702Sorry for the lack of news. The server admin sent a support ticket to the host but we do not have our hopes up as its a bit of a sketchy company. The current theory is that the lag was caused by either a policy change from said sketchy company or a intentional slowdown that occurs after X number of months.
Anywho the server admin decided that if they do not respond in a week or two he will find a new company to host the server. Hopefully ht lag is ACTUALLY being caused by the host, we tried everything possible involving plugins and even chunk removal so were 95% sure that it's the host slowing the server down but ya never know.
No.42328
>>42218So the host responded and said "everything is fine on our end" which means were gonna be forced to migrate since we have been unsuccessful after many many hours of attempting to fix the lag. This kinda sucks as we had a boat load of uptime left even after how long it's been.
We might do a little bit more testing but at this point it's just a matter of gathering funds and finding another unregistered host located in a neutral enough space to not totally screw anyone over with lag. Sorry about the hiccup but thats life for ya.

There are methods online for uncapping it. Also this save is about 2months out of date from the exact point the server went down because….reasons….
Pic related is the only hard location I could locate wings in since everyone kept stuff like that either on their person or inside of enderchests. Please keep in mind adding the nether or wither is not 100% required but if you choose to not go through the additional trouble I would recommend not entering either of them.
Other than that please enjoy checkin out the server! It was up for well over a year but not all of that time were people active in playing it. Has anyone had any fun playing minecraft clones? I have been playing mini world block art and think it would 100% be better than minecraft if it wasn't for the gacha system to unlock certain decor items (like actual tables and actual chairs) and having to pay for skins (i calculated it and for some it is $10 or more for single character skins). You can however make your own by drawing it on a printout, taking a picture of it, and uploading the image but still the pricing for character skins is rediculous even for a f2p game. This game honestly offers so much without needing to use mods. The spacecraft to Horos honestly made me feel far more immersed into the atmosphere than minecraft ever did while going to the nether (note: mini world, like minecraft, does also have an underworld) . The creatures are more life like and cool (just look at the Dango if you want to know what I mean), a veriety of weapons (darts, guns, throwable bombs, boozoka, etc), vehicles (from cars, lifts, aircraft, etc), and a wide veriety of food items that rivals vanilla minecraft. Of course, you have to actually know how to connect everything with vehicles and it isn't just a craftable item, much like using redstone in minecraft, you actually have to know what you are doing to make it actually work. You can even create your own creatures and items (without needing mods) in game. None of the gacha items are essential items but add to the game. For example, chairs, tables, and chests can be stylized differently depending on the type of materials you are using, but is locked behind a gacha system that would take forever to unlock everything. Honestly, name the item in minecraft and this game will have the same exact thing or some variation of it and then some. It's honestly a shame. They should have just stuck to overcharging people to run their own servers and buying character skins. I honestly think it's still better than minecraft but because of the gacha system (which adds everything up by parts instead of outright getting items), only by a small margin.
No.51334
>>51318Minetest is actually pretty good, mainly the way better engine. Extremely high performance even on massive draw distances, and I believe the engine is capable of infinite worlds in all directions including down. However, the developers absolutely refuse to have in engine support for AI entities(mobs) so the only way they can be done is through scripting hacks, so mobs are extremely laggy and slow no matter what implementation someone uses.
It's the only real turnoff. If there was in-engine support for mobs then it would outclass Minecraft in every category(so long as enough mods were added to the base game to give it enough features).
