Skies of Arcadia is the most beautiful game ever made. I still remember the breathtaking landscapes and the general ambiance. You really feel that pirate/explorer. No other game I’ve ever played felt so good.

Combat mechanics could have been better (you basically spam the same attacks again and again) but it’s no worse than other JRPG of the time in this area.

I wish they made a sequel. Unfortunately I don’t know how they could. The whole game was based around exploration and by the end of it you explored it entirely.

I never played the original, but I got Skies of Arcadia Legends on Gamecube when it came out and loved it. I really enjoyed the large ship battles, though I'm not sure if those were added for that version or not. If they were just an addition, what a great one . Regular combat wasn't too bad at all for turn-based (something I never minded and even actually kind of like anyway), it was also the first RPG I remember playing that used that "common pool of points to distribute per turn for special moves" system.

Good RPG, would definitely recommend as well. Wish I still had my Gamecube and this game and my old save to just go explore around again now.

I always liked Drachma.

Yes ship battle were already a feature in the Dreamcast version. I never played the GC one but IIRC the only difference is a few more optional bosses in the GC one.
