A thread to post about things you've built, altered, summoned, or conjured in to existence - where the process of which isn't covered by an existing thread.

Sometimes wizards will create something and wish to share it, but no thread related to the process exists. They may not wish to create a new thread due to /hob/'s slow nature and tradition of keeping threads alive for as long as possible. Making what he did may also not necessarily be a hobby of his, but he may want feedback from fellow wizards regardless.

If you wish to make a new thread for your creative hobby, then by all means do! But swing by here occasionally to see what other wizards are making too!

I made some sweet rosewood grip scales for a knife recently. Never made grip scales, it was a little challenge. I also started making it a wooden sheath but so far my parents keep me from finishing. Maybe some day.

Not sure if OP is going on about some schizo shit and LARPing about magic or if he genuinely means some crafts stuff like >>54257

I guess you could post ether and see how it goes.

I choose to interpreted it as crafts and D.Y.I. projects but if someone is doing some crazy high magick summoning or something I wouldn't mind hearing them out just for the interesting read.

Quickly made some training steel escrima sticks.

Will make nunchucks out of what I cut off, but I don't have the little parts like a small length of chain on hand so I have to go out and get it to complete the chucks.

Only part that was a pain was painting them, but it needed to be done to inhibit rust.

Overall they do what I need them to do as training tools so I have no complaints.

I modified the belt attachment on my old ontario bowie to be realistic, not the dumb tacticool thigh mounted "rig" they designed it to be that was too low and impossible to draw one-handed and flopped around, everything is rock solid now

I consider it a little creative, it was a good sunday project

Put custom buttons in my DS4 controller.
Still need to take apart again and mess around with the pads under the buttons to get it to feel just right. But at least it looks nice.

Made more training gear.

Discount hit sticks. They are boxing targets that also help train defense. When classes start the kids will probably like them, and it will eliminate the excuses that the old fellows have for holding pads since it is easy on joints and low impact for the holder.
So they can stop sitting in the back room and instead get in there and be active/useful by holding these and helping the young people work up a sweat.
Will make more when I get some more tape. This time thicker ones that can be used for both punches and kicks, but I really have to get the handle right so that smaller people can hold on to the bigger noodle when people kick it.

The longer the lock down last the more methods I think of of making warm ups active and reduce the chit chat in class for when things start back up again.

Everybody is going to get fighting fit if I have my way.

Next up is installing a double end bag.
Then is coming up with even more warm up drills to work the upper body.

made my old cold steel knife a sheath because the factory one was a piece of shit, I've never made a sheath, but I think it turned out satisfactory, those are all the tools I used, the work took I dunno 12 hours, maybe now I can carry my knife after 13 years…

I'm particularly proud of the retention strap, someone dropped off a cork sandal outside a value village with solid leather straps on it just when I was stuck regarding what to use for strap material, that was a good find

I had posted this on the hidden board but didn't realise there was a proper thread for it. this is a wired programmable gamepad to play megadrive games on using an aluminium 1590B project box, teensy 2.0 clone and qmk.fm firmware.

that looks nice. no idea what the handle part is called, i want to say tang, but i broke that part of our dinky kitchen knife while trying to chop watermelon like a butcher, it flung away and stuck into the wall lol. happened a few days ago but seeing that reminded me

it's tang

Been working on making mods.
Spent like a week teaching myself how to retexture stuff.

Because I am not a artist they all look like total shit so far but I at least learned how to make it work and I am learning how texture mapping works.

If I actually make something that doesn't look like total shit will post it but for now I am just learning.

that hand shoe is from ducktape?

Working on a walk through of a flea market.
First time ever doing video editing that was unrelated to stop motion. Way less tedious. I now understand how people can shit out 3 and 4 videos a day. These low effort videos are pretty easy to edit and finish. Even cutting together 15 seconds of animation or editing a proper film is real work and a total pain in the ass.

Obviously not posting the vid here through to maintain anonymity. Not only does it give location out but there are points where my reflection is visible. I guess if I wanted to be tryhard I could blur the reflections but no one cares so whatever.
