Wageslaving, 12 hours of my day just dedicated to commute and slaving. The usual numbness and parlyze is taking half of what little free time I have, so I am happy that I still made some pictures. Tried people this week instead of clouds.
Also attached: Picture #2 and Picture #20. I need a brush that is smaller then 1 (or I need to draw bigger. THOSE EYES)

are they important?

yes planes are among the building blocks of painting. form/value/perspective and understanding how light works is like 90% of painting. color and composition come after

Is there an easy way to draw feet’s and hands or if just practice? I can do the exercises I found in the books of Hogarth or Loomis, but when I try to draw them in a position that is not in the books, most of the time I fail and when y try to draw something just from my mind I forgot them. Yesterday I try to draw my own art without reference, I tried all the afternoon. Most of the times I don’t know what in trying to do and the other times I forgot how to draw something. The last try was the least bad attempt. Maybe I should break my bad habit of trying to do things without sketching it first. This is normal in every person who tries to draw?

Hands are basically the hardest thing to draw.

Wonder wich setting on my phone does this, pictures all seem brighter than they look like through that photo screen. Cant even see the difference between the sky and the clouds in pic #24.
I also reached a milestone: 25 pictures in total and 1 month of time invested with 1-3 hours per picture. A genius would paint somewhat good now. Someone gifted passable and someone talented would definetely show improvements… Getting to old and tired searching for my talents. Atleast its somewhat enjoyable, should be fun once I reach the ok stage.

nice and clean clouds

Tried out L-Theanine combined with caffeine last night. (1 dr pepper and 200mg of l-theanine)

Makes me serene and allows me to focus on things. Very big difference. I highly recommend it. Enjoying it again right now. I did this excercise last night while using it (among other things I accomplished with my focus, e.g. writing script to change my tablet's mappings easily, modded Crusader Kings 2 a bit). Will post after I practice drawing for an hour right now. I'm studying hands right now.

Studied 'Drawing Dynamic Hands' by Hogarth, then later that night I took l-theanine + caffeine again and drew these.

tried 2 older ones again to test wheter I improved a little or not.
Had one of those days on wednesday, was only able to do the sketch. Spent 3 hours on it where only 1 was me actually doing anything. I guess I fucked up less with 29. Also the fuck is wrong with my cellphone camera? Was I just shaking while I took them today? Eh, not that they look any better.

another week another dump. Had 2 days were I wasnt on top of my time management. #32 was half finished while #34 was merely penceling (is there a difference visible between 34 and 33 where I only used grey?). #35 took me so long, >1 hour the sketch and >3 the painting - my speed remains abysmal. Couldnt quite translate the pose between the ref (bottom right corner) and the meme.
Output of the happy hormone is also diminishing - 31 was the only one that released some.

I wanted to learn how to draw for a very long time, but for whatever reason could never get into it. Tried again this week and something finally clicked for me.
So enjoy some terrible beginner shitscribbles.

Any drawing guide recommendations would be much appreciated.

if i knew how to draw, if i had the tools and time, id draw things like this. i like tall, thin succubi. long and narrow necks, legs, arms and fingers. curvy shoulders. fluffy, curvy, > waist length hair. breasts, petite or very large (<= B, => E). always seem to draw eyes like these. i like modest clothes like simple dresses without much cleavage. and i really like illustrious from al, shigure from kc, and an-94 from gfl. i think thats the sort of thing id draw. i dont know if anyone would like it, but its how id do it. i like drawing and if i decided this is what ill do id put a lot of effort into it, and go so far as reading kleine rassenkunde for anatomic reference, and draw from my favorite artists, who arent few, but i feel more drawn to programming and math, the possibilities are much more infinite.

Good Job Proud of you

the eyes are about the only thing i can draw as i imagine them with a crappy mouse and ms paint. i like music too. but ill pick programming and never look back. so i wanted to try drawing anything quickly because i know ill never do it again, as much as i like it. same for music. pick only one thing, and become the best at it.

more warmups +some coom picture, 30 minute paintings in the morning is actually really good to set you up for the painting mindset later in the day after a long sleep. I wish i was better at drawing coom but i can't draw appealing porn

second picture looks nice keep it up. draw something for us to coom to

Have any other newbie drawers found that less time spent on a drawing makes it better? I feel like when I just let my imagination flow and not think too much about it things end up coming out better, it's like learning that there is no logic in drawing, it's just free flowing

Lots of "Tips for Artists" say one should join a circle/group where you can post your stuff, get feedback and be encouraged to grow and stuff. Sounds like normalfagcentral, but is anyone in one? Are they really better than doing this alone?
Also is anyone doing NFTs? Apparently really low quality shit is being bought and sold.

Positive reinforcement is never a bad thing. Exposing yourself to other artists who you can relate to in personality and skill level can help to encourage you. I find it's easier to draw and stay motivated when I'm drawing for someone or a group of people who I like, such as wizards. Knowing they'll get a kick out of a doodle keeps me focused on it.

The "circle" these guides speak of doesn't have to be something official, regulated, or even organized. If you draw a character you like and post it to a media sharing social network like Deviantart or Twitter with the appropriate tags, people who search for that character/series/whatever will find it and be happy to share it. Then you look through their art and respond to the things you like of theirs. A mutual exchange of "good job" goes a long way.

>Are they really better than doing this alone?

You have to ask yourself this. If you find that you would appreciate some kind words about your art, and would like to make like-minded artists happy with kind words of your own, then yea exposing yourself to a group of fellow nice artists will help. If you resent people with every fiber of your being and don't want anyone seeing or being involved in your artistic adventures, then just avoid social networks all together and never upload.

finishing 1 each day becomes increasingly difficult as I use more and more time for each one - ineffectivley that is. I spent +2 hours on the pencil part of #50 and I am pretty sure I could've done it in <1 if I didnt do double the work and a bit smarter. The painting itself took me ~4-5 hours. Surely there is a lot of potential to do those faster.

I usually spent anywhere between 1-3 hours on the pictures between each 5. To make the equation easier, lets say I spent a minimum of 2 hours on this. 50x2 and this nets us with a MINIMUM of 100 hours. Milestone reached I guess. Looking forward to picture #100 - ofcourse its gonna be my only figurine again ehehe

is that watercolor painting?

almost, its actually acyrll

Looks very nice, Anon!
Keep up the good work.

wasnt really good of a week practice wise, but the sky of #54 turned out pretty good. Decided to draw one of my 3 YuGiOh cards I bothered to keep, spent something like 5-7 hours on it. Neutral colours are such a nightmare to mix and match. Can you spot the 3 letters I oversaw and had to add them last minute?

you can mix and apply color good enough

you just need to work on putting the color down accurately. so trace or do a sketch first and then use that as a guide for putting the color down

Love it
