It's not bad, it's very character driven with typical boy-meets-succubus-then-more-succubus-appears-and-it-becomes-complicated tropes. Don't expect a journey adventure or deep commentary on anything besides horny vampire kids. It's lolibait too.
>is it a big waste of my time?
How valuable is your time? If you have something better to do than watch anime then do those things. Did you read a synopsis before downloading? If not then read it now and see if it is something that might keep you interested.
I did read the synopsis before downloading and I thought it would be interesting. I have also already already watched the first couple episodes and am intrigued. But, the entire trilogy is very long and I don't want to be satisfied with 1/3 to 1/2 of the anime and have the rest of it be a bombshell. >How valuable is your time
Pretty valuable actually. I work full time in a warehouse and would rather not watch something I will end up regretting>>34376
No it is not too much time wasted, but dozens upon dozens of hours for me actually is
It depends on how much you like powerpoint presentations, emos and lolies.
It's a show with high variance in ratings. One episode will be enough to let you determine.
Waste. It does have a lot of fine 2D maidens. Unfortunately they're all wasted on shit stories and a main character that sucks about 23 fat nigger dicks.
It is high effort and intentionally hard to follow at times but has a consistently high quality throughout and it does always come together in the end.
I would say that it is the kind of show that I would only recommend to experienced otaku. It isn't casual friendly at all.
I will say that it is best to watch it in airing order with the exception of the movie which can be watched at any time and who's events are brought up a lot throughout the series so you might as well watch it sooner rather then later. >>34378>trilogy
It is a huge time sink and not for casuals. It is a hell of a lot longer then a trilogy.
Ah well whatever I really meant series. All I know is that it is very long and I have downloaded the entire series so far. Thanks for the info. I'm going to watch one episode a day until I finish it completely because I want to watch other things as well

Why did it bear the nickname of "redditgatari", then?
Because retards will call literally anything reddit.
never heard it called that before
This is the first time I have ever read that term.
Did you just make that up?
the legendary kamehasutra. best fap i had as a kid, never reached to the page where deformed adult gohan showed up though
yeah dude, these >>34452
pages just scream pretentious and psuedo intellectual.
waste of time imo.
People whose only response to something is calling it "reddit" don't have opinions worth listening to.
This feels as painful to read as Ready Player One, to be honest.
I hope the anime is better.
then It's just shit boring annoying conversations
Idk I can see how referential humor is cringe, and pretentious. And I don't find it funny either.
But to be honest I don't mind. That's the thing I like about Nisio Isin. He is so immersed in different media to the point where he thinks in them. Although it is weaker during most conversation it shines with the actual arcs. Arcs which take different media and use them to analyze characters.
Yeah I agree during dialogues most of the time they are quite useless (only occasionally funny), but it's not enough for me to hate Nisio Isin's work, and these references are advantageous during most arcs. (some arcs are retarded).
This is so cringe, pretty much every single normie is able to get the gaymer references these days.
>>34372>Is this show worth it?
The first season? Sure. The 15 other seasons? No, not at all. This is a series based on novels that have had things like 20 entire pages in a row of pure dialogue, all devoted to talking about panty shots. There is only so long one can hide behind "irony" or "deconstruction" before people realize ironically doing something for 15 seasons is not very ironic anymore. Ignoring the fanservice and wasteful dialog time sinks, what is really at work in gatari? Characters seemed to be based on skimming Wikipedia articles on arbitrary DSM-5 conditions. Instead of actually dealing with any real issue or problem, usually you have some shounen fight instead. That or it's just simply allowed to continue, perhaps even promoted as a good or ok thing. Some of these issues or thoughts of the show could be interesting; but the show wastes so much time with sections worthless dialog and fanservice, so that not enough time is given for the actual themes or message. Sometimes the message is just bad or boring. Take Nisegatari for example, an entire season to state that "truly pretending to be something is the same as being something". Lets de-pseud that. Pretending is the same as being because: Actions are the same. Really one could just say "actions define the person", and it would comment the same as Nise. Yet that doesn't sound as interesting, despite being essential the same statement.
Is this translation accurate?
As far as I could tell the references were all translated faithfully. It’s the word play that usually gets changed because there’s seldom a direct English counterpart.
> is this show worth it or is it a big waste of my time
read shadow of the torturer and the prose alone destroys anime in any and all various incarnations including darlings such as "samurai champloo"
It is. It's much funnier in the fast-paced animated scenes of the show.
Boring and forgettable. One of the shows I know I watched but I remember so little of it I may as well not have watched it. If I had enjoyed it though, I know I would have remembered that much, yet I have no memory of enjoyment.
it has loli vanpire
