I honestly don't know what's popular with anyone.
I don't usually follow what is trending and nothing seems to bother me anymore, although I don't feel exactly happy about this.
I don't listen to what norms have to say either way, so I couldn't care less about whether something is popular.
It's a dumb reason to stop enjoying something, but I can't help but get embarrassed when I find out I have the same taste with some teenage succubus
Doesn't happen too much since I don't enjoy a lot of things in the first place
so you would browse wizchan when its infested by normies?
No, because I don't get into things only to make myself appear like a special snowflake like a lot of you do.
Ah yes, the feels of a failed norm upset over not being able to pork a stinky (which he does later) a classic /r9k/ image.>>147963
There's a difference between a community being infested by norcs and a bunch of them liking media you do.
why would I have to talk to the normals just cause they like what I like?
how else would you discuss something you like?
I don't know what you're getting at. I'm just mocking the image named 'feels' with an incel whining about having no friends or relationshit.
maybe come here and talk about it? or I could just not talk about it at all if it's an experience that doesn't require the input of others?
It is pretty simple, you can't know whether something is popular or not unless you are actively participating in a community. Even worse is when you come and complain here with why do normies do x, since (you) are bringing the normie subject onto a site for virgins. Second you start to attack me with /r9k/ and failed norm, all this shows me is your obsession with what other people are doing.
people here have terribly shitty opinions and get upset when they are told they are factually wrong
Things are really simple when you think about it.
Not him, but I still don't understand the point of the things you're saying. He pointed out an image that very clearly depicted the thoughts of a failed normal. Not sure what all the other stuff you're saying means or how it relates to him. I don't see anything in his original post implying he visits other communities.
I wish ignoring the negatives actually stopped them from impacting the reality of a situation.
Unfortunately when dealing with something like a videogame for example having it become popular thus resulting in the developers catering to the masses can out right destroy what you originally enjoyed.
Also the amount of cartoon succubi reaction images in this thread is quite disappointing.
>>147986> Don't like what I like> Don't like what I don't like
Should the sun revolve around you too?
Everything is popular. Even the most niche of hobbies and interests have several hundred thousand practitioners.
This is why you avoid places where normals gather, so you never actually find out what is popular with them nowadays.
Then you never get this effect.
How do you do that? We're literally on a site run by normals right now.
I can't hear you, normie.
>>147989>Should the sun revolve around you too?
Probably, but that might not be fair for all the lesser beings and I say they deserve a chance as well.
>>147999> being this delusional
lol keep being butthurt
I don't know how what I said is reminiscent of /r9k/ in any form. If your goal was to get a bite, good job.
You miss use green text and offer up no argument on your own side, if it wasn't for me making this post on your behalf it would be as if your time spent here never happened at all.
Arguing with metaburgers is a waste of time, it's funnier to make fun of them
I don't stop liking something when it becomes popular even if I'm a tiny bit annoyed by its newfound popularity. Something having a solid (cancerous) fanbase though does often preclude my dipping in.>>147968
I don't find myself wanting to really discuss much about the things I like. Maybe I don't like them enough? I just come here for the ephemeral exchanges of frivolous musings.
>>148011>Arguing with metaburgers
But this is lounge, you make no sense.
I don't care what normans like or don't like. If I like something - I like it, regardless of its status in norm society.
You sound insecure af.
Why do you think I ever used it?
Because anyone saying "i dont care if normies like it" seems like they are defending themselves liking normie shit like anime and video games
I have no need whatsoever to defend either myself or my hobbies or tastes. After all I'm not an insecure wizkid seeking approval from strangers on an anonymous forum.
Sure thing wizkid
Quality posting on Wizchan 2017, etc.
I just want to remind people that wizards are the enemy to normankind. They will stop at nothing to destroy us, they will take everything, they will use any strategy or tactic.
One norman tactic is to push us apart. Ergo, if you are pushing wizards apart, you are a norman, as you are using their tactics.
It doesn't matter what you like, or what you don't like; the idea that you can't be a wizard if you like certain things is a norman concept, designed to destroy us. Even if you believe it, it just means they've broken you and you've internalised their hatred of you.
Yeah. Someone here showed us the game "Raft", but then Markiplier ended up playing it, and I've lost interest in it.
If someone "popular" ends up playing a game, it loses its mystique. I like to immerse myself in games and act like I'm the only one playing them.
This doesn't count if there's a subreddit about it for the most part like dwarf fortress, but I still avoid people showing off their creations.
One would probably say looking after another's work would help your creativity, but really, games have limited creativity anyways. Like, in minecraft, it's either a giant building that's popular in the real world, a mob, something that's popular culture (megaman), etc. and it's all in a pixel art form, so it's really boring. I was on a server (too poor for a good computer), and a lot of the creations were either those things. A popular thing in the server was just giant pixel art, so in my opinion, it's not really a creative game.
For Dwarf fortress, you're most likely going to mine out your fortress, so it's probably going to be based on some object in real life.
So, in conclusion, you have nothing to gain by looking at other creations, as they're just the same tropes over again, and it's just a form a bragging, personally.
They should keep their creations to themselves.
P.S. This definitely includes Mario Maker. A lot of the things from Mario Maker were stolen from Kaizo hacks like shell jumping, and those "original creations" just have a variation of those trope anyways. I've seen everything I need to see in Mario Maker, so it became a boring game before I would have even bought it.
Only when the popularity leads to the thing itself changing for the worse in attempts by the creator(s) to better cater to the lowest common denominator. I find it unreasonable to start to dislike something solely because other people now like it as well.
>>148052>car·toon: a motion picture using animation techniques to photograph a sequence of drawings rather than real people or objects.
Jesus christ you're like some kind of new age hippie with some bizarre sexual orienta….Dear god
Since my interactions with their world is very limited it generally doesn't disturb me.
No I'm not a faggot.
I try not to let it bother me. Some of the things I enjoy have been popular for a while but since I enjoy it I don't care.
The problem is people will lump you in with the types it's popular among
That says more about them than you, but it's still annoying and something I fear, having to defend my own interests
What's worse is when something becomes unpopular with norcs. Then you gotta stop liking it to avoid harassment and false arrest.
Like trenchcoats, or walking alone. Or reading.
I don't hate when something gets popular since I have been smart enough to avoid fanbases ever since I was a preteen. Worked great for me since my interests back then were Sonic and Dragon Ball.
I don't let others dictate my enjoyment of something.
If something I like happens to be popular then I see it as a good thing because it means I am more likely to get more content or lower prices.
My advice is to just stay clear of fandoms and enjoy whatever it is you like for what it is.
yeah. ill get called a "hipster wizard" for it but honestly im not going to be grouped in with normies just because something I liked got grouped into one of their little passing trends.
R.I.P. JOJO, R.I.P. most anime in general.
lots of people walk alone, anon. there's nothing wrong with it
All of us walk alone in this life.
that's not entirely true….
I wish this was true, life would be a lot better
I used to do that when I was really young, 14-18yo or so. I stopped giving a shit since then, I'm not going to let something so superficial ruin my enjoyment of things.
That whole attitude pisses me off to no end. Just because someone becomes popular doesn't mean you can't still like that thing. At the same time, you should not let people dictate what you like. Like other anons have said, don't follow trends. It doesn't matter if something becomes popular or not.
*something becomes popular
this thread has become popular therefore i do not like it
youre quite hipster
