The PC port of Final Fantasy VII is half price on steam for $6 and I've been debating whether it's worth it to buy it or not. I have never played a jrpg before. This game originally came out in the freaking 90's why are they still charging $12 for it? I hate how expensive old as shit games are, they should be like a couple of dollars max.

I've developed this odd preference for live stream over recorded stuff. I use let's plays as background noise and for the past couple of weeks I find myself preferring to watch a shitty game just because the person is playing it live instead of a better game that is recorded. I have no idea why.

 No.265498

It's lonesome to watch a recorded stream from ages ago that you're no part of. With live streams you feel like you're there with the streamers and audiences.

 No.265499

I do a lot of imageboard thread reading on archives, and I've noticed there's this odd preference I can't shake for reading a LIVE thread even if I don't actually participate. Even though I 'know' intellectually that if I don't post in a live thread there's really no significant difference to an archived one - somehow there's a completely different feeling and I prefer the live thread. There could be a bunch of people taking quotes from an archive and posting each comment sequentially live into a new thread to recreate the old, and somehow part of me would still prefer the "live" one. Weird.

It's not so much that it's an investment it's just like buying a $6 cup of coffee, you have to question if it's worth it.

I just spent the last ten days marathoning isekai anime one after another until I go insane, and I'm starting to see why people hate the genre, for instance that ubiquitous isekai truck that runs over the MC in EP01. Then most of these bastards barely make mention of their previous life in the reincarnated one despite having the memories, or stop talking about it altogether in EP02 or 03. It's like, motherfucker, what's even the point of keeping your memories if you won't flavor the show by being this weird alien from a different universe disturbing the primitive medieval world with all sorts of advanced human knowledge? And instead just letting yourself get sucked down into the new life? That's another thing I hate here… Identifying with the new world and caring about all their stupid dramas and playing along. Pfft.

If it were me, I'd take my god-like isekai powers and get as far away from those creatures as possible. Or just kill myself. Who the hell wants to re-incarnate anyway?

In fact very recently I read an one-shot where the protagonist realizes she'll just reincarnate again so she just uses suicide like a "switch worlds" button, kinda funny. >Histrionic personality disorder is one of a group of conditions called "Cluster B" or "dramatic" personality disorders. People with these disorders have intense, unstable emotions and distorted self-images. For people with histrionic personality disorder, their self-esteem depends on the approval of others and does not arise from a true feeling of self-worth. They have an overwhelming desire to be noticed, and often behave dramatically or inappropriately to get attention. The word histrionic means "dramatic or theatrical."

That's not all. Children are far more likely to suffer neglect or abuse at the hands of their mothers but the media always portrays succubi as innocent angels or victims of men's violence. Reality tells us otherwise, that females have always been the devil. They abuse, neglect their own little boys, and then kill them.

> The DHHS data shows that of children abused by one parent between 2001 and 2006, 70.6% were abused by their mothers, whereas only 29.4% were abused by their fathers.

>And of children who died at the hands of one parent between 2001 and 2006, 70.8% were killed by their mothers, whereas only 29.2% were killed by their fathers.

>Furthermore, contrary to media portrayals that leave the viewer with the impression that only succubi are ever harmed, boys constituted fully 60% of child fatalities. (Table 4-3, p. 71, Child Maltreatment 2006, http://www.acf.hhs.gov/programs/cb/pubs/cm06/cm06.pdf, reports that 675 boys died in 2006 as compared to 454 succubi).

>The pervasive media bias cannot help but influence judges. Thus the newspapers, TV shows, and movies that promote this bias must bear a significant part of the responsibility for child abuse and deaths of children at the hands of violent mothers.

Interesting. This is why I was being hesitant: I do find neo-Malthusians irritating because they've been repeating the same claims for centuries. However, at the same time, it is a fact that there is a plateau and decline of fertility rates. This makes me think there's something to it. I think you're right that we have physical resources to support more, but I'm starting to think that the 'hard cap' is due to 'softer' reasons. E.g., there's something in the human psyche that will not want to reproduce at such extremely high population densities. "Rat Park" and all that.

Did you link the right posts? That didn't say anything about the affect of plagues on general intelligence.
Moreso than just plain intelligence selection, there's something to be said for the simple economic argument of, "There's less supply of labor, so you're going to have to pay more for it" that created a lot of upward mobility in the era after the Great Plague. There's a lot of notes of rich people from the era complaining that they had actually had to work because they couldn't find anyone to do it anymore, or that they had to pay what they thought were 'exorbitant fees' for labor.

I don't think he was always like that. I liked Clerks, a snappy little comedy. He wasn't afraid to offend back then. He wasn't an unfunny conformist. I suppose all people who worked on it had to have at least some genuine passion and independent ideas about film and culture. They even had to shoot it on old black and white film because they couldn't afford color, and they made it work despite limited resources. So what the fuck happened? I mean I know libtard conditioning happened but why did these people give in to it? It's not like they couldn't have called bullshit on all of that, they had to choose to submit willingly. Smith and people like him gained attention when they made something on their own, of their own. And then they just decided to assimilate into the lamestream, producing dreck of ever declining quality? Humanity is fucking depressing.

Just gave my first ever 1 star review for a Lyft ride.

I've been taking Lyft for like 2 years now and never once had any major issue until today. Never had any issues when I took uber either for that matter. And now that I think about it, this might be the first negative review I ever gave for anything ever. Normally I just give positive reviews or none at all, but this bitch pissed me off so much I just couldn't help myself.

So I go to get in and she passive aggressively scolds me for trying to get in on the wrong side. Normally I get in on the back on the opposite side from the driver, I think there was one time a driver asked me to get in on the other side, but they weren't passive-aggressive about it and there were no other issues.

So while in the car, she asks me to take my sunglasses off. I asked her why and she says "you're hiding your identity from me with the gunglasses and the hair and the mask I can't see your identity." So I took my sunglasses off, pushed my hair back and asked if I should take my mask off or not. She then said "Do you want this ride or not?". "I'm just asking because I'm genuinely confused". She told me that I just needed to take my sunglasses off so she could "see my identity". So I put my sunglasses back on and she starts giving me an attitude and passive-aggressively says "I can pull over anywhere you like if you want its up to you". I only put my sunglasses back on because she just said she needed to "see my identity" and it's not like I'm going to become a different fucking person after putting my sunglasses on. I didn't want to be late for my appointment so I just kept them off to appease her and gave her a 1 star after the ride.

If there's one thing I can't fucking stand it's an OCD control freak that flips out on people for doing things that have zero impact on them. Fuck em.

Had some kind of Asian succubi wal-mart employee tell me today that I was scanning and bagging my items wrong in the self checkout.

She then tried to force me to scan an item, then put it in a bag, but I just kept doing it like how I was originally doing it. She then went over to one of her co-workers and said "he's not listening to me" and then they proceeded to stare at me.

I was thinking about having the internet in my hands, having all that human knowledge at my fingertips, and yet, I do nothing to learn. I came to the conclusion that I have an innate fear of losing knowledge. So I go and google it and find this and it reminded me of a wizard who typed something similarly so long ago.

>We learners are like that you know, forgetful, or has this slipped your mind? Kid's ya.

>Have you noticed we have few words for learning, although one of them is learning, but when it comes to trying to remember all one has learned, he faces a wall full of pasteurized mulching. “Remember me”, recollect, remind me, recant, recall, recount the ways, reminisce, reoccur?

>Reposition, repose, requit, requiet ,rococo reconnoiter, remonstrate, retain, restore , refresh, refinish, resurrect, resurface, restate, replay, rerun, remake, rehash, restoring, recover, reupholster, respeak, rewrite, receipt, repercussions, reraise a real ugly read book, recipe, retinue, revenue, arrest the rooster's register and balk like a dog that foe got. Repeat, replete, replenish, reappear, rebound, rebid revue, redo, relaunch, reverberate, report retort retell retail retold redoubt. Reply refill regal rectify renovate revamp redolent register again. Recreate recohere retrofit rehear. Revive, reveal, reference? Infer its relevance, a row boat for romantic eloquence … elephants air ears fairly early when whetted to be washed gotten thirsty.. They cool their heads this way. They shall not forget, they say.

>We shall not fail our knowledge as a person if we promote it as a people. Lifetimes go into the production of what is knowledge, and I have yet to see lifetimes come out of it. Certainly there is help for the staying power of a mind grasp by the very nature of its origination, the management of its maintenance , and those who are silhouetted upon its sunset shall its value dawn on them like it did on us.

>Knowledge fades with us in our upper ages but this is similar to another who earns a doctorate that turns out to be of philosophy,Ph.D.

That paragraph about reposition and its many synonyms reminded me of the wizard who wrote a post going on and on and on and on and ON about… something. I can't remember it but he was using a lot of metaphors or similes or something. It was going on for a huge paragraph like that and it annoyed the hell out of me. Anyways, this paragraph on Quora annoyed the hell out of my. I just want to punch this person in the face now.

Oh yeah, and I'm definitely afraid of losing knowledge as it's already happened to me before. I wonder if the child's curiosity means anything if they'll forget what they were taught with their unending questions. Interesting things can sometimes stick but I fear learning things I don't care about or decided to learn about impulsively wouldn't stick. So I wonder if that little common thought is more of a fantasy than anything. I am sure there were men who constantly learned new things. I heard Hitler had his own library. I'm taking a break from imageboards for a while but before I go, I'd just like to send my best wishes and thoughts to anyone out there struggling in life at the moment. I can't prove it, but I believe that we're all sort of floating around in a murky pool of water, at different points and elevations in the pool depending on our individual circumstance. Some people get a bit more light from the world above surface, while some are really in pitch darkness. But the light DOES exist above, even if you've never even seen a glimmer of it, and (this is not an attempt to convert or argue, it's just a statement of belief) I believe my God YHVH plans on emptying the pool and bringing us all into the light soon, and when that happens even the Wizards that were lost long ago will be restored to us, and our time in the pool will all be explained to us - why one anon was stuck at the bottom for so long, and why another anon was stuck somewhere else, etc. When everything is revealed to us, there will be no fear or loneliness or lack of connection, and we'll see that as bad as things were, it was worth it for where we'll then be. Best wishes!

Always thought ASMR was dumb.
Some writer I kinda follow submitted a script to be read by one of those guys as a audio role play. I hate to admit it but it was pretty nice.
Fell down the audio role play rabbit hole.
I mean on the one hand I know most is just content for sad lonely normies that can't get their needs for companionship met in more conventional ways.
But on the other hand it kinda feels good emotionally (idk what the fuck ASMR people are talking about when it comes to tingles or whatever) and the scripts can be pretty fun imagination falter. Like one serie I listened to where you befriend a cosmic horror abomination summoned just to hang out. Which was funny.

Will admit far too many seem to cater to submissive simps who want to softly be dominated by a female more powerful then them. Which I am not a fan of.
Like every single one of the vampire ones just turned out to be soft dom shit.
Guess that is what pays though.
Finding more adventure based ones is hard but they are out there with a few thousand views if I hunt hard enough.

Unfortunately, you either get ASMR or you don't. If you don't know whether or not you get ASMR, you don't have ASMR. A lot of people that don't get ASMR still watch the content b/c they are touch starved or horny or lonely, and that skews the numbers of views and likes for ASMR content. We8rd stuff is definitely more successful. I mean, if you had to choose between watching "tapping on lids" or "alien vampire taps on lids from another dimension" you would be more likely to click on the second video, even though, in terms of ASMR stuff, there is no difference. Especially if there is a hot succubus in the thumbnail. Also, obviously, succubi have a huge advantage in ASMR, since no straight man wants to listen to some guy whisper in his ear for several hours. I'm pretty sure female ASMRtists are more popular among both male and female audiences, so it isn't just a sex thing. These biases (weird vs. mundane and female vs. male), despite not being related to ASMR quality, define the characteristics of the modern ASMR community. Of course, I don't mean to criticize people that enjoy ASMR content for non-ASMR reasons, but they do influence the number of likes and search rankings.

Another factor that might influence the gender ratio of ASMR is the common cultural construct that succubi are more compassionate and nurturing (versus insensitive, violent), which could mean that succubi are more likely to produce (unmasculine) ASMR content. I prefer female ASMRtists (perhaps due to deeply ingrained admonitions against male intimacy), but Dr. T is an exception to the rule.

ASMR (and associated tingles) is a real thing though, even though most people don't experience it. I had described ASMR to friends before ASMR was officially discovered by science, and they acted like I was completely insane. It was ~20 years after my earliest memories of ASMR that I learned that it was an officially recognized phenomenon. Like, there were whispered conversations where my scalp just lit up. A lot of people compare ASMR to sex, but obviously I cannot compare.

If you want emotional comfort, try Ozley. If you want cosmic horror, try Mother Macabre. If you want adventure, try Amy Kay.

In the hospital someone passed out so we have to wait a huge amount of time. I took the doctor's pen with me without realizing it. Brought it back within a minute or a few seconds.
