Be careful, it might backfire. I did the same thing a few months ago and started dieting even though I was already at a normal weight. It went fine at first and I felt great, especially during the days where I would fast until evening. But eventually I started having days where I'd eat uncontrollably. It wasn't too bad at first but soon enough I was binging on 5,000 calories every other day, and then feeling like shit about it and eating nothing the next day. The more I tried to stay in control, the worse it got, and I just couldn't seem to stop eating on some days. I've given up trying to lose weight since but the binging hasn't stopped; it feels as though my brain is constantly anticipating a famine and loading up on calories just in case. Obviously, not everyone is going to develop a pattern like this just from going on a diet, but considering you stated that you like doing it "to feel in control", I wouldn't be surprised if you're liable to end up like me. Fair warning, OP.

I weigh 120 lbs at 6'1. All I eat is McDonalds, Burger King, sometimes KFC. I eat only one large meal every ~48-72 hours or so with lots of red meat (extra beef patties) and I'm just not hungry at all in between. Pretty funny.

I'd like to be thinner or fatter, but no matter how much or how little I eat I just weigh exactly the same. Literally could eat cookies and chips and other trash all day or eat one meal a day for weeks and stay the same weight somehow, I've been 165 pounds since I was 14, now 26
I also tend to maintain a set point but if you try you can push it around but you have to maintain your eating trends for months and months to get your set point to move. I raised my weight from 145 to 155 with a years effort of stuffing myself to the max every day. 155 is still a little skinny for my height but it's not so low as to be weird so I'm just gonna let it stay here. It was too much effort to constantly maintain that intake level. The one thing that is an exception for me is if I eat a bunch of sugar all at once. I'm talking a diet of nothing but candy. This will add fat almost instantly but it makes me feel terrible with all sorts of health issues so I don't recommend it.

The best part of being lighter is a greatly reduced risk of injury. Just as squirrels fall from trees and scuttle off like it was nothing, when we trip, fall or bash into something, it is our mass that is our worst enemy. I would recommend everyone lose mass if they can, but doing it sensibly and slowly is key to avoiding pitfalls such as chronic binging, psychological/physiological wasting disorders. Just as you shouldn't expect to shed a great amount of mass in a short space of time, you shouldn't try to either.

Don't simply eat less, eat healthy. It's especially important to mind your nutrients when you're eating less since every bit counts. You want to lose your fat, not deprive your body of the things it needs and get sick in the process, or lose probably what is the little muscle mass you have.
I managed to go from 175 lbs to 140 lbs in about 3 months in a healthy manner. All I lost was fat (and water weight too). After that I bulked up while lifting heavy and since I gained muscles I never really got much fat again. Ideally you should aim to shed fat and get some muscles.

Running is shit for your joints and makes you produce cortisol which impedes fat loss. DO NOT RUN YOU DONT NEED TO
1. 20 minutes on treadmills walking fast (keep heart rate around 160 bpm)
2. High intensity interval training on elliptical machines. 10 minutes total, 30 seconds of slow movement followed by 30 seconds of as-intense-as-possible movement, repeatedly for the duration.
Combine with strength training. Eat less carbs, eat more protein. Eat lots of veggies and drink lots of water to fill stomach with no calorie substances. Add daily regimen of fish oil, vitamin B complex, multivitamin to help with energy levels.

I used to get take away every day until I traveled and my schedule got so disrupted I was focusing on everything else over eating. At this time I'd mostly eat a cheese sammy for lunch and some low calorie soup for dinner. I initially still felt hungry doing this but after just a few weeks my appetite seemed to adjust and I felt satisfied eating like this.
Now it's common for me to skip breakfast and/or lunch and have something small for dinner. I've lost a nice amount of weight on my wiz stomach (im skinny fat so everything just goes to my stomach.) I think if I kept doing this for a few more months I'd mostly have a flat stomach again. I think that's a decent outcome considering it required no exercise, special diets, or cooking time.
I don't claim to be an expert: but fast food is bad not just because its 'unhealthy' but because the portion sizes are so large. If you see a certain amount of delicious food its not really clear that maybe you should only eat a small amount of it. The food is also engineered to make you keep eating it. Like you might have burgers that are salted to encourage you to buy their drinks. They've calculated all this shit to maximize profitability at the expense of health. Got to just be aware of these traps.
2 hours a day is a lot of exercise. You should take a couple of rest days per week. I've been doing one meal a day and if I feel like I need some extra energy I eat some fruit but not enough so that I'm no longer hungry. Seems to be working. I'm down 10 pounds since I started trying to lose weight.
