I remember this thread about cutting out media (I think it had the picrel as its image), and I guess it got pushed off of the catalog because I can't find it anymore. I thought I was going to give that my all this year, and for the first month holy shit I actually had a positive outlook on life again and it was like my depression vanished. Then I got caught into it all again. I thought the Ukraine thing proved that maybe MSM had a use still, but now I'm convinced that they've fooled me again, and I want to keep trying to stop watching the news altogether again. In particular, that thread brought up the idea of a "Mediafree May," which I found intriguing and want to give it a shot.

Anyways, to start off and to try to resurrect the thread a bit, there were some pretty good tips that I picked up from that thread:
- Using ublock to block "trending" and "related" tabs on websites.
- Redirecting websites to alternatives.
- Curlie, Wiby, Millionshort.
- Word filtering out "clickbait" words.

I think the bigger thing though is that news fills up this "novelty" gap. I know that's an addiction on its own, but at the very least, there's got to be a way to get "novelty" that's less poisonous than what the media gives.
