Does anyone else here drink a lot of soda? I usually have anywhere from 4-6 cans a day, diet mostly because I don't want to be a landwhale. It's probably one of the only things that still brings me joy and I love trying new ones out. I like the space coke that came out a few weeks ago a lot and have been walking down to the carry-out a couple times a week to get one, I'll be pretty sad if it doesn't become a permanent flavor. Dr Pepper had a Zero Sugar Cream Soda flavor recently that I liked as well, but I haven't seen it in a while.

Pic related is one of my favorites, but I have never seen it outside of this one White Castle fountain in central Ohio. Do you guys have any favorites? Any discontinued Sodas you miss? I remember there was a christmas pepsi variant I loved as a kid that my sisters found gross.

Classic, the diet version isn't great though so I don't drink too much of it anymore. I've also gotten burnt so hard on some of the variants lately that it's tainted my perception of the original. I think one of the last ones I've tried was the watermelon one and I don't think I even finished the first can.

I can't control myself around diet soda. I only drink once a week or when I'm really in the mood to get a 3L bottle of coke zero, which I usually finish in 2-3 hours. That's my idea of a fun time, as odd as it may sound. If I weren't a poor NEET I'd love to drink a 3L-bottle every day.

Back in 2018 and 2019, every week an aunt would get me a 24-pack of 600ml Sprite Zero bottles. I'd finish them in two days. I'd just keep drinking one after the other. I wish that'd never stopped.

I pretty much love all the flavors I've tried. Some of my favorites are 7up zero and diet Dr Pepper cherry but I just keep coming back to coke zero.

I can't imagine all that soda is any good for anybody, but I doubt it's as harmful as alcohol and cigarettes, though.

I don't drink regular soda.

I think I might be some sort of mega pleb or it might just be that I don't drink regular coke all that much, but the handful of times I've had mexican coke it didn't seem significantly better to me. It didn't gunk up the back of my mouth the way coke does but it tasted mostly the same.
>>288074
Don't mean to shit on it if it's something you like, I had the Zero Sugar version so it might have just been that. It's probably just personal taste, a lot of the Mountain Dew variants I've tried have this sickly sweet snow cone syrup quality to them. Felt that way about Voltage, but I knew someone who loved that one.
>>288079
Me either. There's something addictive about them and it isn't just the caffeine because coffee doesn't cut it. If I go a day without drinking a can or two I feel tired and grumpy.

How do you feel about the new Coke Zero? I wasn't a fan of it before, but now I like it almost as much as Diet and usually get a box of it when I restock for variety.

I've looked into it. It's definitely cheaper in the long run with the amount that I drink and fountain diet coke is way superior to the canned stuff. The upfront cost is pretty huge though and the main thing that puts me off is the maintenance/cleaning I would have to do on it. It would be pretty sweet though so maybe I will eventually.

I wish there was something like that store anywhere close to me, the variety is incredible and the owner seems super knowledgeable. Would be so cool heading down there once a week and grabbing a dozen or so to try.

I don't like Canada Dry either, but I moved to the west coast a few years ago and it turns out they don't sell Vernors here. Was really craving some a few months back and none of the stores had it. Didn't realize how many of the things I liked that seemed like massive brands only exist in the midwest. Found out recently you can order Grippo's online at a massive markup if anyone here knows what those are and I'm pretty happy about that.

Have you had Ginger Beer before? You might like it if you prefer something with a stronger ginger flavor. I get the Bundaberg ones pretty often, but I wouldn't recommend the diet version.

>>288173
I'm not defending my chemical addiction, I'm making fun of you because you're an idiot making unfounded claims while throwing around buzzwords. You said that Diet Pepsi is "significantly more unhealthy than regular Pepsi." This is equivalent to saying "Pepsi is significantly healthier than Diet Pepsi", that is how words work. It follows then that switching from Diet Pepsi to regular would result in "significant" improvements to my health. Except that's retarded, and you know that's retarded, so you're backing away from it.

Your opinions aren't unsolicited, your advice is. Diet soda is unhealthy, it rots your teeth and destroys your kidneys, everyone knows this. You aren't imparting some great unknown wisdom, you're being a busybody. Directing it at one user in particular just trying to enjoy his night makes it even worse. What's next on the agenda, going into some smoking threads and educating them about lung cancer? Maybe telling some neets to get a job or posting to /games/ about how vidya is a waste of time. Thank god you've been sent here to put all of us on the right path, we'd truly be lost without your guidance.

The best part is that your advice isn't even good. Pure fruit juice is fine I guess, but it's worse than just drinking water and eating fruit and it's a horrible recommendation to someone who drinks diet soda. People drink diet soda because it's a tasty drink you can have regularly or in large amounts with minimal detriment to your health. The anon you replied to planned on drinking 2.5 liters of the stuff last night, doing that with fruit juice is a great way to get diabetes. If I wanted to suggest an alternative to someone looking to give up diet soda, I'd suggest tea, mineral water, or black coffee.

>Studies funded by the few megacorporations who use it. Coincidence??

Studies done by government regulatory agencies around the world. There's almost no point in arguing with people like you. You make claims without evidence and the mountains of evidence proving you wrong are, in your mind, actually just proof that you're right.

>You said that Diet Pepsi is "significantly more unhealthy than regular Pepsi." This is equivalent to saying "Pepsi is significantly healthier than Diet Pepsi", that is how words work. It follows then that switching from Diet Pepsi to regular would result in "significant" improvements to my heal

No, that's not how words work. I type over 8000 words per day I know how words work. If I was suggesting Pepsi was healthy, I'd have said Pepsi was healthy. By saying "Diet is more unhealthy", it shows that regular Pepsi is unhealthy and that the fact that something is even more unhealthy is notable and that it needs emphasizing that such a fact is significant because of how unhealthy regular Pepsi already is.

The point of the thread is to talk soda. Why do wizard enjoy soda? Because it is sweet, sticky, cheap, available everywhere. All of these qualities are mirrored in fruit juice, so it would make sense to assume that a wizard who likes cola would also enjoy fruit juice, and I offered a quick rundown of some benefits to fruit juice for wizards who I knew were interested in sweet sticky cheap everywhere drinks. Can I not suggest frozen yoghurt in the ice cream thread? Would that be enough to rile you up?
>If I wanted to suggest an alternative to someone looking to give up diet soda, I'd suggest tea, mineral water, or black coffee.
Unsolicited advice alert!

>Studies done by government

>No, that's not how words work. I type over 8000 words per day I know how words work. If I was suggesting Pepsi was healthy, I'd have said Pepsi was healthy.
I didn't say you were suggesting Pepsi was "healthy", I said you were saying it was "healthier" than Diet Pepsi, which you were. Something can be "healthier" or "less unhealthy" without being "healthy", so you clearly don't know how words work.

This claim, that Pepsi is healthier than Diet Pepsi or that "Diet Pepsi is more unhealthy than Pepsi" is the only part of your initial post I take real issue with, because it's just laughably stupid. There's no evidence to support this other than your claims of some sort of mass coverup. Even you know it's stupid which is why you're arguing semantics instead of actually arguing that yes, it would improve my health to drink multiple cans of Pepsi a day instead of Diet Pepsi.

>Why do wizard enjoy soda? Because it is sweet, sticky, cheap, available everywhere.

Are you an alien or a robot or something? People like soda because it's sticky? It's clear you were desperate for parallels with the last two, available everywhere? The cheap thing isn't even true, my soda habit certainly isn't cheap and 52oz bottles of fruit juice are almost double the price of 2 liter bottles of soda.

People(I) like diet soda because it's sweet/tastes good, it's carbonated, it's caffeinated, and like I said before it isn't too detrimental to your health to drink frequently. The alternatives I suggested all meet 2-3 of the above criteria, fruit juice meets the first. It doesn't have caffeine, it doesn't have bubbles, and if you're drinking more than a glass or two day you're going to end up a fat fuck with diabetes.

>Can I not suggest frozen yoghurt in the ice cream thread? Would that be enough to rile you up?

If you posted your favorite frozen yoghurt in an ice cream thread? No, probably not. If you singled one dude posting about how he got some for tonight and told him he should have frozen yoghurt instead, then yeah I'd say you were being a dick. Your analogy isn't even as bad as what you're doing because frozen yogurt is actually comparable to ice cream and actually a healthier substitute. This is more like you told the guy eating frozen yogurt it's worse than icecream and he should eat sticks of creamed butter instead.

>Even worse, the government can't be trusted, they're the ones fluoridating the water to the point where some soda is even healthier than what comes from the tap (don't research w/o a VPN)

>Why do wizard enjoy soda? Because it is sweet, sticky, cheap, available everywhere. All of these qualities are mirrored in fruit juice, so it would make sense to assume that a wizard who likes cola would also enjoy fruit juice
It's also carbonated, which is definitely one of the key characteristics that people love about it. And diet soda is not sticky, btw. Sounds unnecessarily paranoid, but that's how I used to test that the soda I was given at movie theaters was actually coke zero and not regular coke. I'd touch it with the surface of one of my fingers and then rub it against another to see if it was sticky. Imagine drinking a large cup of the stuff thinking it's sugar-free but unbeknownst to you having consumed over 100 grams of sugar.

I actually had a total of 3.1L of diet soda last night because I'd also had a 600ml bottle of diet dr pepper before the 2.5L diet pepsi. That's definitely a worrying amount of diet soda to consume in a day, which is why I rarely have it, only on special occasions. That was a special occasion because I'd left the house for the second time in the year and I wanted to stop by a store to get some soda. Like I said I just can't control myself around it. I gulp it down so quickly and keep incessantly craving it. Instead, I let myself drink 2L of artificially-sweetened sparkling water once a week when my mom does the groceries.

That's really what my addiction is, artificially-sweetened carbonated water, so I don't really care about fruit juice. I already eat a banana, an apple, and an orange every day, so my body's certainly not craving any extra vitamins in soda or artificial sweeteners, and that's probably also plenty of sugar already for a day.

I'm also highly skeptical that diet soda is much more harmful than regular soda. There's no way that artificial sweeteners are so much worse than the amount of sugar in regular soda. Imagine if I'd consumed the 187g grams that a regular 2.5L pepsi has over its sugar-free artificially-sweetened counterpart. But I don't drink diet for health concerns, otherwise I wouldn't drink it in the first place. I'm simply a bit uncomfortable with the idea of drinking sugar, when there's an amazing and perfectly fine sugar-free alternative available. I still would never nag and irritate others on how much sugar there's in soda and so on. They already know.

It removes bacteria that agitate the process of tooth decay, yes, but there are healthier alternatives that do the same thing but better. The fact of why Fluoride is used is because it permits certain religions to use the product. The "conspiracy" if why it's used is because it's unhealthy in a way that helps line the pockets of those who are in league with the manufacturers of Fluoride. Ever emulate Metal gear Solid 4?
