hello wizzies, let mz introduce you cyber-punk! YES not the game the genre of course (that's the only pic I found about cyberpunk because this is the only kind of pic available now cyberpunk 2077 got released and is now assiocated with the genre, fuck this shit, anyway) lets go back to what I was telling you, cyberpunk is the genre I like the most but also the most missunserstood genre and creators butcher it everytime theu make somzthing cyberpunk. to all cyberpunk fans lzt's talk about cyberpunk

 No.296078

look around it's already cyberpunk and it's more terrible than in games

 No.296079

What makes you say its worse than games? I love the cyberpunk world we live in, as a bottom dweller myself. Ive seen people make use of infrastructure, man. Digging up and wiring to get public electricity. Disassemble stolen App-E-Scooters and flash or replace the computer. Cheap Chinese trash, straight into the can. New research chemical drugs come out everyday, some even suplanting traditional drug economies. 3d printers and guns.

I think I love most of it, if its technical, and care leas for social stuff, ubless its go nerd out over radios or something.

 No.296080

I think cyberpunk as a genre literary and culturally is mostly played out. Gibson is a terribly overwrought author with spastic plot structure, and the only good part of Neuromancer was the first chapter. All the sequels got progressively harder to follow while overplaying punk rock visuals All the cyberpunk authors I've read include gratuitous drug use and it gets tedious. When gravity fails for example, great 90's rpg, utterly terrible book. Mirrorshades was even worse. The literary movement arguably failed in the first decade.

The genre tends to be a patchwork of various unrelated movies/books stitched together by wikipedia compilations. 12 monkeys is cyberpunk? Blade runner is cyberpunk? Aren't these just generic dystopian futuristic movies and themes? etc

I like the clean futuristic visuals and dystopian themes that occasionally show up in eastern produced content. The north American portrayal on the other hand seems to be mostly gangs, drugs, and extremely gritty which I don't much care for. Best things to come out of it is the electronic music and the video games.

this 100%!
1st: Europe, USA, Australia, Japan
2nd: Russia, China, Brazil, Middle east
3rd: Africa, Afganistan
Everything is half ass, the 1st world is becoming 2nd world, and the 3rd world is becoming 2nd world. While the 2nd world stays the same.

EPIC VIDEO(imo):

"Pentagon Video Warns of “Unavoidable” Dystopian Future for World’s Biggest Cities"

Also, I do not play video games. But the new game is just tranypunk and shit version "disney version"/duming down version of the real thing. Just coperate bullshit/no passion project as they used to do video games. Everything is soules and half assed, more or less.

You zoomer monkey. There's a ton of classic cyberpunk to choose from and you pick one of THE most broken AAA games to be released that is now getting a resurgence in sales because they released a fucking anime with the cyberpunk 2077 name.

Fuck you.

 No.296106

>>296105
the worst part is youtube algorithmically thinks you're asking for cyberpunk 2077 content whenever you type in "cyberpunk music" now. The old rpg it derives from had some pretty slick combat rules though

the genre of cyberpunk is dead, it was what people in the 80s and 90s thought the future would be. And now we are living that future, turns out its actually quite boring.

If you want the future from a modern perspective check out the dying earth genre and what is called cli fi or climate fiction, which is about the future where climate change ravages the land

like I said, if you search for cyberpunk you only get cyberpunk 2077 because the algorithm thinks you're sear hing for cp2077 when you're not. fuck off not my fault

Does Seinfeld considered cyberpunk?

How do you not know how to google things?
It's absolutely your fault.

 No.298857

Yup. But "Cyberpunk the arasakas plot" is still told to be better than this 2077 thing.

Now, you might be talking about the genre not the franchise. Well, I played Dreamweb and Burncycle…

You may also like Thaumium Rogue.

 No.298861

i like the idea of cyberpunk, but trying to read the quintessential cyberpunk books, like for example snow crash i think it is called, god in heaven it is not written well or maybe that artist's style is not for me

i mostly think of ghost in the shell type stuff when thinking about cyberpunk

 No.298866

cyberpunk was ruined by the orange and violet aesthetic fags

 No.298873

>>298861
all the 80's 90's 2000's cyberpunk books are shit. It's a purely visual genre

 No.298874

>>298873
well the ideas within those books have to be good, like smuggling data using your own body. and the theme that resulted. it was probably a lot more approachable when it was just released, we are exposed to eay more things and so it feels dumb going back to the roots

 No.300235

any wizard who knows a lot (lot of knowledge) on cyberpunk and could share his knowledge with us please

 No.300240

if you were describing the concept of what wizardchan is in the 1980s, it would already sound cyberpunk

 No.300241

why so?

can mods delete my threads (this thread) , I want to make a new better version of this subject and thread
