Someone made this post >>>/lounge/290675 of a business using the wojak meme. I replied to this post with another example of businesses using the wojak meme. My post was deleted and I was issued a warning, while the post that I replied to remains up. Please explain the rationale behind your decision to single out my post in particular while ignoring the person I replied to.

 No.62279

There's "posting outsider memes" and then there's "posting something that happens to have an outsider meme in it". We're not going to delete a screencap of a thread or other interaction in which someone used a Wojak, or delete an on-topic video embed that has a Pepe in the thumbnail. The guy you were replying to was making a point about such memes being used IRL. Your post was just a Soyjak and nothing else. The context wasn't clear, but if you had at least mentioned that it was an actual ad used by a company then maybe your post would have stayed.

please do, i think it's hilarious. like an inside joke because no one really gives a shit

Twitter screencaps are an outsider meme by themselves though. That guy's post has two outsider outsider memes whereas mine only had one. I consciously made the decision to post the image by itself instead of the image in a twitter screencap because I recognized that twitter screencaps are outsider memes and thus a higher order of magnitude of transgression against this rule. I don't understand why the outsider meme rule is enforced so irregularly.

Also
>There's "posting outsider memes" and then there's "posting something that happens to have an outsider meme in it".
I've seen you delete youtube embeds multiple times solely because they had a pepe or wojak in the thumbnail, so this rationale doesn't hold.

Is that distinction why you also didn't delete the "primacy of consciousness" pic despite all the pepes and wojaks in it?

>Twitter screencaps are an outsider meme by themselves though.
I disagree. The outsider meme guideline mentions Wojak, Pepe, and gets. These three memes are related by their direct responsibility for the decline of what were once Wizard-friendly 4chan boards, and by the time the guideline was implemented, Wojak and Pepe were being used almost exclusively to disparage lonely men. Twitter is a completely separate entity. It doesn't exactly have a culture of being anti-wizard nor was it a place that was ever particularly inviting to wizards. It's just a social media platform like any other so it has its share of everything, and considering how many people and companies use it as their direct form of public communication, prohibiting screencaps of it would prevent a lot of on-topic posts from being made at all.
>I don't understand why the outsider meme rule is enforced so irregularly.
It really isn't. You posted a Soyjak comparison with no context at all. I don't know what more to say to you if you figured Twitter screencaps would get your post deleted, but just posting the meme itself wouldn't. One had the same amount of context as the undeleted post and the other was just an outsider meme making fun of someone who liked meal deals.

>I've seen you delete youtube embeds multiple times solely because they had a pepe or wojak in the thumbnail, so this rationale doesn't hold.
If it was a Youtube video that we deleted, the focus of it was probably on the banned character himself. We delete ASCII art and even direct links to pepe pictures, but again an embed with a banned meme in it that has value beyond being a tribute to that that banned meme will probably stay. We do tend to delete 3DPD thumbnails regardless of context though.

>>62283
Yes, I believe so. If it's a valuable on-topic image that has something to add beyond being just another rare Pepe, it tends to stay. We're not going to force users to GIMP-out Feels Guys from their textbook articles, and if the character isn't even recognizable through the thumbnail there's no reason to spoiler it.

The main goal of prohibiting Pepe and Wojak in the first place was to distance ourselves from /r9k/, and to give us an opportunity to warn users who might be so fresh out of /r9k/ that they habitually add a Pepe to their post. It gave us a good excuse to link them to the rules. At this point though Pepe and Wojak have seeped in to every corner of the internet. While they're no longer a good indicator if someone is from /r9k/, they're more commonly used to disparage and mock someone else these days, so we've kept them banned just to help keep this place civil. This is why many other "outsider memes" such as Gondola are permitted. Sure they're memes made on other boards, but they're pretty much harmless and used by people from all over the web.

>>62284
In that case, why is the "touch grass" meme allowed here despite it fitting your criteria of being used mainly to disparage reclusive men even better than pepe/wojak? I reported this post >>>/lounge/290645 yesterday and it has not been deleted.

Just trying to understand how exactly you are deciding which outsider memes are allowed and which are not.

if someone says "i am delusional and hear voices in my head" is it really so despicable to call them schizophrenic? and if someone says they want to hurt other people and see them suffer is it really so despicable to call them a psycho? im not pulling this out of thin air, he admitted it himself, am i supposed to ignore what hes saying? or just pretend that there isnt a word for what he describes himself as?

Those rules come from the top. So you are saying that Wizchan is ruled by soyboys

If it's against the rules to post these memes it should be an actual rule with a number.
