Does anyone else use any other communities? Has anyone ever used communities that have either died/or they moved on from them? I was wondering the other day while using another imageboard if any of the anons I was talking to could possibly be from here, or if the rest of you guys are interent hermits that only lurk here.
Not really, not anymore. I used to frequent some message boards in early 2000's, but they well all destroyed in one way or another first by Facebook or Discord.
4chan is too hostile and full of trolling, and any other website seems like an echochamber. Internet is kind of done for me, it's become a tool I can use, but it's no safe haven anymore.

I used to use librechan for some actually interesting boards. Not the CP related ones. It got bombarded as you can guess. I was also using 8ch /r9k/ for a while but it died couple of months ago. I never expected that to happen but wherever I go and enjoy, it dies. I am hoping wizchan doesn't die.
I used to use Mchan, but it got renamed to enrive.org. I never visit there, but I was there since 2013 when it was being advertised on 4chan. I got permabanned from 4chan, and I didn't want to bother, so I left.

Yes, a ton actually. There are some comfy imageboards that are not on any bulk lists and cannot be found even if you try to search their exact name and address on a search engine. Maybe that’s why they are the way they are.
Aside from those I have been visiting wizchan once for a while to see what you wizards are up to, there are definitely some top-quality posts that keep bringing me back here. This place has never became my main, but I still like to lurk around and sometimes even screencap posts for future reference.

most of the forums i posted on as a teenager no longer exist. i'd have trouble remembering all the names of them without going into my old email accounts. livingwithstyle was one that sticks out, pre-zoints takeover there was a lot of good posts on there. for the most part ive always been a lurker though.

I still browse kohlchan /int/ once in a while. The only good points are the insider memes that you won't find elsewhere and being more active than wizchan. There are also occasionally some worthwhile historical discussions when everyone can tone down their autism. My impression is that the userbase consists of the usual crabs, failed normalfags, lolcows, and hikineets with a handful of posters that have wizard potential. The userbase is fairly international, which adds an interesting element to the board culture. There are long-standing rivalries between Ukrainians and Russians, Poles and Russians, Americans vs. everyone else, Israelis vs. everyone else, and so on, which is a recurring source of entertainment.
Downsides are the same as any other large, active imageboard in the current year. The culture is a mixture of /pol/, /b/ and a crab forum, and the content is incredibly repetitive, much like 4chan. The same ironic memes, low-effort shitposting, derivative topics, and thread templates have been recycled for the last several years. If you take a break for a year and come back, you likely won't miss anything at all. It also has a lot of random unspoilered 3D porn.
