Yep, there's plenty of new ways to get pleasure nowadays. I've found that a lot of them don't even require money.
For example, I recently joined an online gaming community called Hero Wars. It's free to join and you can build your own army of heroes to fight against other people's armies. It's kind of like an online version of Civil War generals, only with superheroes instead of generals.
Another free option is watching pirated TV shows and movies through torrents. It's really easy to find torrents for just about any TV show or movie these days. I once downloaded a pirated episode of MLP: FiM through torrents. I wasn't sure what to think of it at first, but I ended up really enjoying it.
Still need more? How about adult magazines? You can easily get them for free as well. I'm not exactly sure how to go about getting them, but I'm sure you guys know how to do it.

Honestly, I think a lot of the "pro-drug" crowd doesn't actually listen to evidence when it speaks against them. There's no shortage of studies proving the negative effects of drugs.
However, I will say this: video games can be substitute drugs. Of course, it's not going to be an exact substitute. A person who is addicted to drugs is probably not going to become non-addicted by playing a video game. That being said, video games are a great way to have fun and forget about your problems for awhile.
This is a good thing, because we should be educating people on how to have fun, not giving them boring lectures about how drugs are bad.

It's obvious that governments don't give a shit about stopping drug use, so it has to be up to the people. The only way to do this though is to have full blown awareness. People have to know about the damage drugs do and they have to know the people using are doing so at their own risk. If enough people start embracing this idea, then drug use will go down.
I'm not saying we should go around breaking windows and beating people with drug paraphernalia, but we should absolutely make damn sure the message gets out there in a severe way. We need to get the fuckers scared.

People know the “risks”. Most people today grew up with D.A.R.E and the war on drugs. And even after all that, people still do drugs. People still drink, people still smoke, people still buy their prescriptions. So maybe you should re-evaluate why people still so drugs despite tons of social campaigns and government action. Read up on prohibition and the reasons may become clear.

I vape cannabis and drink alcohol regularly. It temporarily removes anhedonia and also provides pain relief for my bad back. I can play a match of warcraft 3, watch some YouTube videos, some reruns of my favourite cartoons and it all feels fresh and enjoyable. Doing these same things sober quickly makes them boring and I just end up sleeping half the day to minimize the amount of waking life.
Having weed in my drawer is an incentive to get out of bed and do something, anything. Getting high is a huge boost.
Overall vaping weed everyday is still healthier than being obese so whatever.
To each their own though. If you don't like the intoxicating substances I guess it's a blessing since your health won't deteriorate like an addicts.
Not looking forward to getting cirrhosis or whatever in 20-30 years from all the liquor. Oh well.

I would argue with enough training anyone can control them but yes some people just lose it and go full hunter-gatherer after they discover the best thing in life. there are ways to reduce harm by regulating the substances but there is exactly a 0.01% chance drugs will go legal within my lifetime so why bother talking about it. drug ban is a big prohibition 2.0 electric boogaloo and politicians who support it are braindead, apathetic or bribed.

anyone saying that they don't understand why people use drugs because they get high on life has never used drugs. It's not the same, nothing in real life comes anywhere close to drugs. Has anyone here tried kratom?
It affects your opium receptors so it's supposed to be similar to heroin but it's a pretty light drug overall. I would place it somewhere in between coffee and weed. It's too bad that I can't take it everyday because it would build toleration too fast and result in conspitation.
