anyone else feel as though life is just a dream? i know this may seem like i'm going through a basic existential crisis, but still, i can barely envision stuff that happened just moments ago, as if it happened in another life

A boat, beneath a sunny sky
Lingering onward dreamily
In an evening of July

Children three that nestle near,
Eager eye and willing ear,
Pleased a simple tale to hear

Long has paled that sunny sky;
Echoes fade and memories die;
Autumn frosts have slain July.

Still she haunts me, phantomwise,
Alice moving under skies
Never seen by waking eyes.

Children yet, the tale to hear,
Eager eye and willing ear,
Lovingly shall nestle near.

In a Wonderland they lie,
Dreaming as the days go by,
Dreaming as the summers die;

Ever drifting down the stream
Lingering in the golden gleam
Life, what is it but a dream?

I do think life is a dream, though it doesn’t feel like one most of the time, only when I isolate from online communities for many weeks, then it starts to feel solipsistic.

I know what you mean. But I am afraid it is real and we would just like it to be a mere dream, a phantasm. Humans interpreting life as a dream is a result of the fact that life can't be understood by us. We try and try yet fail to grasp what life is about. Only a dream could be so lunatic and illogical as life is - so we would like to believe.

Nice, where is it from?

For me the opposite is true. I don't think life is a dream but I feel like it is a dream all the time.

Poem by Lewis Carroll (also featured in the anime Kyousougiga)
