>>69822Look at his /diy/ threads. I think his obsession with his robots is interesting and admire his relentlessness but it is quite clear that he has no idea what he's doing. His arrogance when experienced people point out his ignorance is off-putting. That being said, I do not resent him and wish him all the best but looking at his track record it seems unlikely he'll get even remotely close to success.

Do you think we will ever have a breakthrough moment of mass adoption of robotics like we did with smartphones, computers, AI, cars?
Like the beginning of a new era where all kind of robots are embedded in every facet of society? I don't think a lot of people could imagine today back in the 50s or 60s.
Then again the tech might just stay at it's current level for decades.
Maybe the cost is just too high, mass adoption of smartphones only became possible when very cheap low-power computing became the norm.
I don't see robotics hardware dramatically dropping in price anytime soon. Maybe we'll see some attempts in the future to lower the price by mass production and standardisation, but then there have to be cheap makers and sufficient demand of robots too.
Anyway everyday tech did not have any dramatic breakthroughs since the mass adoption of smartphones.
