I made this thread seperatly from the drawing thread because first, I want it to be visible from everyone, secondly, I wanted to separate painting to drawing. In this thread, post paintings you've made or are doing at teh moment or drafts. Talk about paintings and the related (color used, canvas used, etc…)

What a shame almost all ancient Roman art is lost to history. I was reading some first century writings and thought it would be interesting to take a look at how they depicted themselves.

The Roman Empire was the center of the world back then, and there was nothing like the art including paintings produced there in the entire world. Despite this nearly all has been lost to history and the surviving works are mostly wall paintings.
A similar situation exists for the written works, most books and letters have been lost forever.
There was no civilisation on the same level in the entire world with Ancient China coming in second place.
