I miss it when I first discovered Japan on the internet. now I'm old and will never go to japan 日本

 No.43612

1980s Japan is no more.

The genre of that era is known as "city pop" now, by the way

Autist Paradise
where, social interactions are formal bland and insincere, working hours are long and consistent, employment is permanent and little if anything changes in the day to day without one's own will making it happen.

And it's an illusion - but it's a beautiful one.

This.

Think about it.

1980s Japan: Jazz fusion, City-pop genres
2020s Japan: please maintain silence… baka gaijin…

1980s Italy: Italo disco genre
2020s Italy: lolwut? we don't to that stuff anymore.

Why would this period be a golden era for otakus?

 No.43628

>>43626
Because most legendary shows and mangas were released on that period. And only nerdy people were into anime. There were no cosplaying whores or normie chads wearing anime t-shirts bastardizing the hobbie. The reason why Japan is now full of insufferable gaijins is because anime became mainstream.

 No.43629

>>43628
I blame the normification of otaku world to the popularization of the internet, as the internet got easier and more accessible to people, so too anime/manga got easier to get and read, after streaming really get off the ground then anime become really popular amongs normies, I still remember a time where for you to watch a anime episode you need a media player, some form of decoder program and know a site where they upload the episode with subs, it was in the mid 2000s, after mid 2010s with the popularity of stream anime went mainstream with normies.

This is honestly why trolling in fandoms is an important part of a given ecosystem. It used to be understood that trolling is comparable to eugenics, and now that the great masses of normalfaggotry have descended upon the internet, we need it more than ever before

 No.43631

>>43630
There's no going back, the internet now is in the hands of normies and bots, maybe there are some obscure places in the web where you can find genuine interesting things and people to engaged with.

Japan of the 80s is not your recommended youtube/spotify playlist.

please don't ruin wizard's "hey, they worked hard AND they played hard" mood - it's not like they were blasting CASIOPEA's "Mint Jams" album on Yamaha's conveyor lines to lighten up the drudgees' mood.

yet in the same time, it's a historical fact easy access to WALKMAN portable cassete player (and such) w/headphones AND affordable batteries both were a thing in 1980s Japan (not to mention easy access to cars and car music systems).

Although, a 1940s-born salaryman would probably listen to imported jazz (Stan Getz and suh) or Yukari Ito's singing - so _maybe_ you're right in _that_ regard though

>I miss it when I first discovered Japan on the internet. now I'm old and will never go to japan 日本

And even if you did go, you will still never go to that Japan.

>1980s Japan is no more.

Japan is alive so the 1980s autist paradise came and went.

We could write Toki Pona in our Kana and fork out a new culture. We would appreciate the golden era of the 80s Japan and develop something that is ours and a classic.

It's really simple and would also keep the normies out.

Let's think of a name fisrt before /hob/bysts grab Suno AI and similar tools.

"The /WIZ/ards"

"Cybercafe 198x"

"Cybercafe "/WIZ/ard" (sum of the two suggestions above)

CRUNCH - "Complications of routine uniqueness navigating CRUNCH holospace" (recursive acronym)?

 No.43795

>>43788

I like "Cybercafe 198x".

"Radio /Wiz/"?

 No.43797

>>43795
I think "Cybercafe 198x" is closer to 1987 than Radio /WIZ/ since "WIZ" may look like some Wisconsin radio station's tag and thus, lack the vibe
