Just saw this while scrolling 4chan. My parents were exactly like that. Just wondering how true this is for any neets on this board?

My father is the single most negative person on the planet. He will often tell me that what I am thinking about doing is too much trouble and I shouldn't bother. He will poke holes in all sorts of plans I have. My mother does the same because she worries about me and then to deal with that she tells me all the things she is worried about happening to me as if it is helpful and she is protecting me from those things by telling me about them. In reality she is just instilling me with anxiety and doubt. Then they tell me to be a normalfag and am surprised when I can't do it. For many years I actually thought they were being helpful too, until I realized not being around them is like a weight has been lifted off my shoulders. My first reflex has always been to turn to them for advice because I lack confidence. I realized that was a massive mistake because the reason I lack confidence is because of them.

In a way this is a form of narcissist over-protective parents things, they do everything for you but never give you opportunity for independence or even, they never teach you anything useful for self independence. Sometimes do but its hard to do.

They can take you this to even your 20 years old, is like a abandonment of human life development but hidden and masked in a lot of ways.

It's interesting that despite how overbearing they were, they never taught me any of these life skills. They never even told me what jobs they thought were good just that I had to go to college and get a high paying one. Never taught me anything about finance, never really taught me any skills directly at all.

You can get a lot of these dudes in narcissistparents sub from plebbit, in avpd sub there's some people, in a lot of ways a lot of non functional normies and NEETs of these places have these form of parents.
Maybe my mother is like this, she just repeat "better study" than teach me anything and she doesn know how much it hurt so much to no know anything or learn useful things like common people, so i slowly learn with internet or by others. And yes she keep gatekeeping me to teach me, or teach one time and very bad with little patience
I learned later (12 years old) to tie my shoelaces so that say all, very dehumanizing and damaged self-esteem not big surprise, if you start to compare yourself with other more healthy or normies is the worst.

It's THE recipe for baking the perfect 30khhv until the very moment this very 30khhv suddenly realizes if everything is a "sin" then… nothing is, since nothing stands out in this universe, because what is a sin? Everything is one. You have a need to reproduce? LUST. You want to eat some more food? GLUTTONY? You want to preserve some food for the next year? Whoops, also GLUTTONY. You want to hoard some nice figurines? Nuh-hu, LUST again!

The experience with dealing with such a leash makes people like myself believe everything is a sin - something a regular Jake or a regular Matt never goes through.

Bottom line is, yes. I do think my parents fit the mold. I am not some thug of a bandit though; had I been completely fatherless I would become a bandit but instead… I am just a wizard.
