I genuinely can't stand this job market anymore. I feel so stuck in limbo everyday. Everyday since graduating has felt like a smear from my graduation date. I was a good student too I thought, graduated with a high GPA out of college, and internship and a decent award, just to be discarded into the eternal nihilism of "free society." I felt like I had purpose coming up to this point, like I had something to head towards with my time with my education, and now I have basically nothing but hedonistic coping mechanisms while I wait in torment watching everyone else around me continually further along their lives while I just keep applying to no avail.

 No.309822

There is no meaning, doesn't matter what kind of society you're born into, life has no purpose.

 No.309823

>>309822
Grain of sand level of reasoning. It's like saying "Life has no food" because the astral cosmic demigods haven't beamed food in to your stomach directly. But there is food; you just need to hunt and forage for it. As in, life's purpose is what you make of it. Go find purpose or make it for yourself. Whining and reducing yourself to a helpless gooey little grain of sandbaby isn't purpose.

 No.309824

>>309823
The purpose you give to your life is not an objective purpose though, it's rather a belief system, a faith. I'm speaking pragmatically, we're not born because we have to achieve something, we're born because our parents had sex. Then you can delude yourself as much as you want.

 No.309825

>>309824
The real delusion is believing that it counts as a valid argument to diminish the validity of the very nature of man with the pragmatics and semantics of words and concepts of which the meaning isn't up for debate. There is no need for an "objective purpose" because the meaning behind the word "purpose" as it applies to conscious human beings' way of life is defined by something which is decided willingly by the beholder. To use the lack of "objective purpose" as an emotional outlet is no different than lamenting that there's no such thing as "dry water"

 No.309828

>>309825
>There is no need for an "objective purpose" because the meaning behind the word "purpose" as it applies to conscious human beings' way of life is defined by something which is decided willingly by the beholder
So there is no purpose as it is merely the result of subjective feeling. It's like talking about god, everyone has its own, but none truly exist.

How do you deal with isolation? My parents split and sold our family home, so I was pretty much forced to find my own place. Even though I didn't speak to my siblings or parents too often, I can't help but miss coming back to a full house after work. I always thought it would be easy and that I wanted to be alone, but I guess going from living with people my entire life to suddenly being completely alone screwed with my head. It is so quiet here I feel like I am going to go insane.

>>309862
>How do you deal with isolation?
I hate to be the one to say this (because I may be banished) but the only way to truly solve isolation is to start a family, or form and actively engage with a small close-knit friend group. If you haven't grown to find peace in solitude while in your youth, you may never fully come to find peace in being alone as an adult. Many men on Wizchan can only function while alone as a circumstance of their upbringing. Abusive households, awful schoolmates, kniving coworkers… A lot of undortunate human contact has wired their brain to misanthropy, to feel good only in the absence of other people. Your disparity over being alone and the cabin fever you feel in an empty house is a sure sign that you're not one of those types.

Parasocial and long-distance online friendships may be good alternative for now but they won't ever reach the psyche in the way a real human family will. I say this to encourage you to not submit to a lonely life while you still have the energy and power to go out and meet people who may do your emotional instincts some good. Only if you try to do so and come to learn through the failure of other humans that being among them is worse than being alone, should you then adopt a hermit mindset and learn to bask in a life lived alone. Until then, if you have a family who you love, by all means keep them close and work to reinforce your bonds. Family can disappear in an instant and the regret of not enjoying their company more while they were here is a curse that will loom over you forever. It doesn't take any real work to do but it will pay off in some way or another. For the time being, it would do you some good to take up hobbies and habits that a family would only get in the way of. Read the plights of users here whose ambitions are shackled by overbearing parents or undesirable housemates. Solitude is freedom. You have all the room in the world to spread your wings and grow in to what you want to be. This is the first step to embracing solitude - to justify the necessity of being alone. Again, it's especially important for you to hop on to the benefits of being only at your own mercy while you still have a positive support structure (a family) to fall back on.

Do literally anything besides mope and lament being lonely. Don't take up drinking or drugs, because that's gay.

95% of people live life feeling that life is good and cool. Your crusade against all life because you happen to dislike yours is nonsense. It's a sign of severe mental illness to not be able to comprehend that other people feel differently about things than you do.

Where? Billions of people live in extreme poverty dying from horrible diseases. Every day on the news there is someone killing others or themselves. We have a war in Europe with millions of dead soldiers. Just because you happen to be a privileged nut that is not enduring any pain (for the moment) doesn't mean life is beautiful for most people. Also, your life requires the sacrifice of other living beings.

I appreciate the reply, but I wouldn't be posting here if I hadn't already given up on the idea of meeting someone, let alone starting a family. I see where you're coming from, and for most people who feel the way I do it would be the next logical step, but there's nothing that scares me more than the idea of than having to be someone's father for the rest of my life. I am a very selfish person and I would probably break down mentally if I had to sacrifice my own time to deal with not only a child, but a succubus too. I really just liked having people I cared for around me without actually having to do anything other than talking to them occasionally. Knowing they were close by was enough for me I guess.
>engage with a small close-knit friend group
I would if I could, but I wouldn't know where to start. It's been over 10 years since I had friends, and they didn't even like me all too much. I'm at the age where people don't really care to make friends because they're all focused on their families. My coworkers don't really talk to me, though it's not like I ever bothered to talk to them either.
>Your disparity over being alone and the cabin fever you feel in an empty house is a sure sign that you're not one of those types.
I would say you're right here, though I am socially retarded. I crave some form of community while wanting to interact with people as little as possible.

there's a lot i want to complain about but i'm just tired and lonely, mainly. except now i'm old(ish? i feel so old at 27) and don't even have my youth to rely on anymore. nothing much has changed with me. sure i have a job and a car and i go to work but spiritually i feel the same as i did when i was 16, miserable and lost. i just have some $$$ now but it's all the same as it ever was
and i'm depressed about art, too. i know i've improved but i wonder if this is as good as i can do? surely not, but it's a scary thought

It's interesting, nothing has changed for me either but somehow I feel much better. At your age I felt pretty much like you do, but not long after I turned 30, I just calmed down. It was like I finally just got used to being me. I accepted I am a loser and I'm not going to change. Once I stopped trying to change and be more like the normalfag my parents wanted me to be, it was like a weight lifted off my shoulders. I used to always hear people talk about how great it was to be in their 30s and scoff because I knew it wouldn't happen to me. And it's true, I haven't gotten more money or independence from my parents, and yet somehow it's better.

I think when you're young there is all this pressure on you to become someone other than who you are currently. It's the whole point of growth as a young person. Eventually though that will go away and you can just be. You're doing art now with the feeling that you have to get better and become something. Once you give up all illusions of grandeur you may rediscover your passion for doing it for its own sake and you may end up finding yourself making more progress than you did when you were putting lots of pressure on yourself.

It's weird, I also feel much younger now than I did in my late 20s. I think it's because psychologically I've started to compare myself more to middle aged people rather than young people. When you're an elder young person you feel old because you haven't hit the developmental milestones you're supposed to have hit. Once you're middle aged though, you look around you and realize, I've got another 20-30 years of wage slavery middle aged life to look forward to, and in that phase of my life, I am just starting out. So what if I haven't become a success? I've seen people 10 years older than me make a complete career change. It feels like there is plenty of time. In your late 20s you feel like there is no time because somehow turning 30 without having "made it" feels like a death sentence. Then that supposed death sentence comes and goes and you're still fine and you realize you're gonna keep on being fine.

I also hate wage slaving though and I have mostly done everything I can to minimize the amount I have to do. I alternate now between living with my parents and wage slaving as a handyman off and on and living on public land in a tent. I am trying to change this to living in the tent full time. If I can figure out the income part of it I would do it in a heartbeat and only come home every once in a while to visit and collect important pieces of mail.

I used to be in therapy. It didn't do much good, obviously.
But, that normalfag said something that stuck with me. "You live your life like it's a prison sentence."
Something like that, at least.

He was right. I just sit around and wait to die.
I'm too afraid to kill myself. Too afraid of whatever powers that be that might punish me for throwing life back in their face.
And life feels like such a chore. I'm good at it. I can succeed if I try. Success just feels so meaningless and the effort required far exceeds the reward.

Nothing feels good anymore. It all feels like waiting. Like I'm stuck outside an office reading magazines and playing with the little ball toys meant for kids.
I'm not mad anymore. It doesn't make me angry. I don't even feel special for it.
I think this is the default for a lot of people. I'm just eloquent enough to put it to words.

Things have to change, right? The world can't be like this forever. It has to change. It's smart enough to know that, right?
We won't have to watch the world burn itself to the ground just because it's too proud to admit defeat. Please?

I know I'm wrong. I KNOW.
Just, please? I don't want to watch the whole thing turn to ash out of damned pride! ADMIT DEFEAT! YOU'RE WRONG! IT'S OK! YOU CAN CHANGE!
Fuck. I wish I could close my eyes tight enough to be blind to this. Can you do that, at least? If you're going to be an idiot, at least blind me first. You owe me that small, petty mercy.

Social bonding is about affirming you're on the same side, this means liking and hating the same thing. This causes polarization of opinions to be natural. For example, video game discourse on the internet. When someone like something they gloss over all of its flaws and likewise when they hate something they nitpick everything and downplays strengths. If you go the side that like a game and said that you like x but hate y, you need to be really careful about framing your opinion to make it sound like you're still on their side or they'll attack and try to kick you off. Same for the opposite side. If you persists in an opinion of liking x and hating y, you'll be alienated from the two main sides and are now strictly limited to the tribe that like x and hate y which is going to be a much smaller tribe. Small because you have to find the exact combination of likes and dislikes and reasoning for those preferences, as well as because a lot of people with nuanced beliefs prefer to get absorbed into the bigger main sides. One way that autistic, more scientific minded people likes to do is to champion objectivity which means eliminating all emotional bias. Another is to champion liberalism which means tolerating differing opinions. Both the problem with both of these ideas is that they hinder emotional investment in something so you ended caring less about a subject and the already reduced validation from other people also becomes less rewarding. Not to mention it takes more effort to be objective and accepting diversity means diluting sense of belonging. Therefore they're not good solutions either. Where am I going with this? I don't know just complaining about how sincerity is punished or something.

I think that the ability to learn and in consequence the degree of mastering any subject or skill is directly linked to two main factors that might complement or contradict each other in different constellations: 1. your personal immediate affinity, genuine interest, true subjective conviction of the subject that you have without the need to express it to anyone else. 2. The success, competitive superiority, the amount of positive and accumulated social interactions and connections that the subject enables you to have. These two factors also decide your evaluation of a thing where you need to decide what's more important. Your unaltered honest personal opinion or the chase for social reward. In the best case these two are completely identical, that's when you can convince people the most (like cult leaders actually believing in what they are doing till the point of killing others and one self for it) of your relation to the thing and potentially gain the most reward. In the worst case you absolutely despise something but communicate that you like it, normally this won't go well for a long time because either it will be revealed that you actually hate the thing or it becomes very exhausting and it has a toll on your mental health. I think in most cases there are variant mixing ratios of these two factors.

You have to realize that racism is mostly just a base instinct that people developed in order to protect the tribe. It's a way to bond with others and form a group identity and then use that group identity to gain power over others who are not part of that group. It helps to protect the genetic code that created you in the first place and ensure that it is continued to be replicated. Humans are subject to the forces of natural selection, that's how we were created. We have always banded together with those more similar to us and fought against those more different to us. That was developed in a paradigm of scarcity which the industrial revolution and the exploitation of fossil fuels has changed and made obsolete (for the current time anyway). I say put your racism in your back pocket for now while society is peaceful and bountiful and save it for times of strife.

I know disparaging hikkikomori is against the rules, but are you living under a rock? The entire Western world is crumbling under race riots right now. Succubi are coming together in the millions to show solidarity for one who murdered three babies. Jews in Morocco sent an estimated 17,000 young men to rape and pillage Spain as punishment for the Spanish government disavowing Israel's genocide against everyone they border with. Historic churches across North America are being burned. Bishnoi gangsters abroad are dressing up as armed police and arresting elderly people to extort money from. The new Chinese school curriculum teaches that the Japanese are literal demon spawn on stolen Chinese land. GTA6 was leaked entirely and you'll be able to play it for free in about a week.

In times of plenty you gain more through cooperation than through conflict, so racism is actually counterproductive. If you don't think these are bountiful times it's only because you have no understanding of history outside of the very recent. We throw away more food these days than we eat. Famine has been almost completely eliminated. Your average person has an extremely luxurious life with access to electricity, indoor plumbing/running water, heat/air conditioning, refrigerators, internet, TVs, etc. The only reason it feels shitty is because of capitalism making us all into wage slaves who are dependent upon pleasing and serving the capitalist class to get everything we need and want. That doesn't mean we're living in times of scarcity and poverty. Quite the opposite. We are pretty much at the peak since we didn't deal with global warming and that is going to chip away at our prosperity from here on out. Long term we will probably get more prosperous than currently, but only after centuries of decline thanks to global warming and mass extinction.

I think it's like this with brown racists too. It's not like they're not constantly fucking each other over.

I guess I see the logic in it but I'm sorta tired of it all. I just want to live around good people.

>It's just a mean spirited racism where they flaunt superiority and laugh at others for being different. One of them even employs jeets and has them doing yardwork for him.

This is basically how the instinct manifests. When people develop attitudes of racial superiority/inferiority, it justifies treating minorities worse and gaining more from doing so. It's very common for racists to employ minorities and to pay them less than the market rate for labor. They say, this person is no good, they aren't worth paying a normal amount. The more people who do this in society, the more the prices that minority can charge go down. The "true" market value of minority labor is thus effectively reduced through racism and that ends up benefiting the racists who are in the majority. A non racist may end up paying a rate that is higher than what they actually have to pay because they don't buy into the racism and believe that person deserves to be treated fairly.

You will often see that the less successful someone is, the more racist they are. This is because the untalented need to rely on such instincts to get every benefit they can. This instinct is naturally expressed higher in people with low intelligence because it's what works best for them.

I believe men now work so they can survive and afford one or two hobbies at most, albeit I'm sure the majority of single men in the workforce do it just to survive.

Waking up to my scalp being stroked by toe beans is still a creepy feeling. But it's well-intentioned so I shouldn't be ungrateful. I'll have tuna salad for dinner so I can reward my small guardian with a bit of tuna. It's the only 'human' food she likes.

When a parent who, allegedly, had a very difficult childhood decides to use it as an excuse to purposely abuse and neglect their own children, like "I had it like this, so no problems if you have it too".

I'm so alone. I'm almost 30 and can count the number of times I've been out with people you might call peers on one hand. What a wasted life. If you need money to make money, then you need friends to make friends - and social currency is more important than real currency after all. I can't pretend I'm happy this way. There was a time back in childhood when I had many interconnected friend circles, like a Venn diagram of belonging-ness. It was great, but its been almost a decade and a half since I've enjoyed that kind of thing, and it's unlikely I ever will again. Online friends don't count, they're a transient little simulacrum. How and why am I still alive? This is a joke.

Babyboomers are gigaretarded narcissistic faggots who truly and unironically believe their accumulated wealth and perceived better living conditions over both their own parents and their offspring is 100% the product of their hard work. Of how "tough" they had it, and how that "challenge" made them "stronger". In reality almost everyone with more than two working neurons knows the true story, it was simply the product of unlimited cheap, almost free energy from the oil boom and economic conditions from early capitalism.

Boomers literally cannot understand world/worldviews different than theirs. it's so fucking disgusting. That's why the majority of them think making their kids lives harder will somehow benefit them.

My dad was born in 1957, will turn 70 next year. When I was a baby he quit his career because some 15 year old brat wanted to troll him, putting my whole family in poverty. Then he abandoned his wife and kids to go abroad to work odd jobs, rather than pursue a career in his specialization (this was in 2005-2008). When he turned 60, suddenly he decided to become a buisnessman to do what he used to when his skills are administrative, not entrepreneurship. Fucking worthless boomer kike. He doesnt have much time but he's a fragile narcissist, he really thinks he's the same as how he eas at 40. Boomers really are all like this.

I wish I had someone to cheer me on, or someone to talk to. I always wish that but what really spurred it on today was my driving lessons. I was going to learn from an instructor, but it was 800 USD for 8 hours. My parent berated me for paying that much money so I refunded it and now, he's teaching me. But it sucks. I'm getting yelled at, treated like a retard – he makes it seem like it's my fault that I can't drive. But man, you never made any effort to teach me. You or my mother, I only learned as much as I have now due to my dearly departed aunt.

It's just so stressful. I went around and cried (whined) about it in other places and the response was just "Uh, shit sucks, get a teacher or deal with it. You're old (I'm 26)." I guess they have a point but it bites. I'm not saying I'm giving up on learning how to drive either, I can bite my tongue. I just wish I had someone to sympathize with me, is all. It's just lonely.

In general though I just wish someone cared. I have to cheer myself on constantly.  No.310239

I learned how to drive in my later 20s too. It's more frustrating than most things because you can't legally do it alone, and lessons aren't sufficient by themselves. Most people need minimum a few dozen hours of practice to pass a driving test, the 8-10 you get from a school isn't close to enough even if you luck out and find one of the few schools that isn't a sleazy borderline scam.

My parents would tell me over and over that I needed more practice, but the only way I could get either of them in the car with me was to bait-and-switch them by asking them to take me somewhere and then waiting until we were right outside the car to say I actually wanted to drive there. If I asked them to take me out they'd say not right now, or If I asked them to schedule a time they'd agree but without fail they'd "forget" and go somewhere else 10 minutes before we agreed to leave. And after all the hassle they'd sit in silence and only talk about food the whole drive.

My parents never taught me any of the things that functional parents normally teach their kids. I had to learn to tie my shoes by myself, and it took me so long the other kids at school started making fun of me for being a retard because I was the last one still wearing velcro shoes. I still can't ride a bicycle.
