>>29478 I think the general idea of the thread is to make a 3x3 ima he of your favorite anime. Then you respond to other images with the number of anime in their image that you like and how many of theirs you watched in the format "l/w". This is mainly useful to find new anime recommendations, but I do find it frustrating that you have to rely on unlabled screenshots.
The way I chose was closing my eyes and letting the best memories while watching anime surface and then I picked the titles standing out.
>>29470 Way too much space intrigue and scfi for my taste but Martian Nadesico is pretty decent. Also I don't know what the top right one is.
>>29476 Kaiji is decent, Salesman is good but once you read the manga it's not so good "in the animated version he's a more redeeming character which detracts a little bit from the original intention imo" and Kimagure is cute but not for me. Mononoke looks beautiful on screenshots but ugly in animated form, imo.
>>29501 right middle is harukaze no etranger, it's manga only, it is about two guys in a gay relationship and then a few years through their relationship together, it is sad and might make you cry a bit if you are into that kind of thing
bottom middle is merman in my tub, it's just short 4 minute episodes and pretty light-hearted, guy saves a merman and keeps him in his tub, antics ensue, etc.
I really dislike this 3x3 culture. It's whole premise is just to show off how cool your taste is and then it devolves into trying to compete with others based your anime taste. Case in point >>29547 It's one of those things that should stay on 4chan
>>30183 CCS because it's incredibly well written, well made and is extremely fun and comfy to watch. Doremi is pretty much the same but it's a lot funnier. Evangelion because it's fucking Evangelion, enough said.
>>29566 I fully agree. Being elitist over your taste in media is incredibly pathetic. If the OP was rephrased to simply ask us what our favorite anime are, the thread would be much more wholesome.
Honorable mentions to Daily lives of high school boy, Neon Genesis Evangelion, Inuyashiki and Konosuba
>>29470 3/3 >>29476 8/9 I dislike the salesman >>29481 4/4 >>29483 I don't usually watch gay romance but I recommend Suicide Boy >>29486 1/2 I dislike Ghost In the Shell >>29510 5/7 I dislike black clover and hate the demon baby one, good on you for lupin tho >>29543 3/3 I should watch kino's journey I heard it was dope
>>29470 ping pong, eva and lotgh are great, don't care for the rest >>29476 love everything here except haibane and salary sales man >>29483 you're either a faggot or a succubus >>29543 4/5 >>31743 6/6 >>31747 5/6
>>31756 3.5/4 I wanted to like bottom center one (I don't remember the name) but the fact he fucks the loli in the end just soured the whole thing for me.
>>31757 I feel the same. Even though she's no longer a loli by the end of it they really ruined such an interesting story by giving it such a banal ending.
>>29470 3/3 >>29481 0/2 I used to like sakura and doraemon but I guess I've seen similar things that I liked more >>29543 4/4 good taste >>31743 3/6 never really got into diamond is unbreakable, mob and the hachiman anime >>31747 2/3 Elfen lied

Hey wiz, tell what shows similar to Doraemon you liked better, please. I'm a huge fan of both the manga and the anime and I've never seen something quite like it when perusing mal, other than the other manga made by the same artists, but they'ra far from being as good as Doraemon imo.
The site doesn't work for me so I'll just post a list: Neon Genesis Evangelion Bakemonogatari Serial Experiments Lain Akira Cowboy Bebop Shoujo Kakumei Utena Sora no Woto Space Dandy Lucky Star
>>31770 by similar i meant for kids, i don't know if you are into magical succubi but i liked doremi better >>31772 sorry for that, it was just me being retarded i fixed that already
>>31779 Thanks for this. Actually, could you replace Sora no Woto with 'Rurouni Kenshin Tsuioku Hen'? I've decided that might be a better pick for my list.
>>32519 lucky, you can basically pick anything and it will be new for you. i'll have to wait until i've got dementia or some shit to be able to rewatch a lot of stuff
what are the name of left column/middle row? >>29543 i liked paranoia agent (and lain, of course) >>31928 what's the name of right column, middle row? >>33712 lmao you're so fucking based, can i get names for the ones in bottom row (except YuruYuri)
>>29476 Heh I dropped the top three on your chart pretty fast. Texhnolyze was absolute pretentious trash >show begins >it's in the dark with only one dim light >30 seconds later someone slowly walks into the room >takes him 30 seconds to slowly walk across the room and lean against the wall >sweat begins to slowly run down his face and drip >time slows down and the camera zooms in on the droplets of sweat >memories begin to shine in the slow motion droplets of sweat as they fall to the ground I dropped that shit in two minutes
Haibane Renmai was plain boring, and Mushishi was a mary sue 2cool4u protagonist just showing up and solving problems on a regular basis with deus ex machinas
>>33311 Kemonozume was really great and unique. It's terrible I can't find it online in anything higher than 480p
>>36404 >Haibane Renmai was plain boring Excuse me? Haibane Renmei was amazing on all fronts firstly the art style was amazing Abe does a good job with character design. There is not a single anime similar to Haibane Renmei and I think you need to give it a proper watch instead of what I presume is a two minute look. Maybe the problem is you have no attention span no taste for aesthetics and want a big explosion or anime tiddies shoved in your face within 2 minuets.
How was haibane Renmei boring do tell how because it is a gem of an anime and obviously some scenes are up for interpretation but the show has a lot of depth and speaks to you despite its setting being other wordly
>>36409 It's been many years but I recall that the vast majority of every single episode was just talking, and the talking was often mundane small talk. I got about five episodes in and they were still just talking so I dropped it
>>36411 > just talking, and the talking was often mundane small talk That's your opinion but you do realise some stories focus on characters rather than plot?
>>36404 >I can't find it online in anything higher resolution Unfortunately most old anime can't be found online in good resolution, for the past few years the copyright jews are working overtime to purge the internet.Archive everything! >>37070 you know what else is boring? posting provocative images as bait. I hope to god this is your only (you). provide some actual discussion instead of just shitting on other people for no reason.
>>37070 Didn't know people started to hate ping pong, ashita no joe and texhnolyze. That's pretty sad. Slice of life corruption is too strong. Well I agree most of those are boring, but some are great. Too bad moe or mecha fans or whoever made that nonsense are like this.
>>37070 So, what should we be watching to meet your standard of not being pretentious?
Also, I can only wonder at a definition of "boring" that includes FLCL. I strongly disagree with saying most of the others are boring, but I can better understand why one may think that for them. FLCL? Hard to get more fun, laid back and whacky. Still love it after several years.
>>39223 1. Some random indy animation i found on vimeo that had kind of a yuasa look to it. 2. Some random Korean artist's loli pic 3. Cowboy Bebop 4. Sunabouzu 5. Nichijou 6. Same as 1 7. Cobra 8. Random Lesean Thomas thing 9. Belladonna of Sadness
>>39229 It's not wrong, sure. Maybe that's more the point of the mockery picture(s) here, that it's just empty peacocking. Why try to impress each other with taste in asian pedophile cartoons? Just like what you like and who needs to know?
immediate regret addendum: Well, it's okay to analyze things, praise and criticize them and hope for a discussion surrounding it, but template threads like these aren't incredibly promotive toward enjoyable conversation.
My big problem with discussing anime is that I never have enough in-depth knowledge, I know very little about the process of creating, which I'm sure there's tons and tons to talk about, I know very little about the cast and producers, just a few famous names here and there but never really taken enough interest to look into their portfolios and styles etc., I just tend to watch one show after the next and some 20 shows down the line I've already forgotten most of everything about it so I never really have any "fuel" for a discussion. Just these "oh yeah, I saw that at some point, uh…" moments. These threads could indeed probably spawn a lot of interesting discussion but they require high knowledge level participants (not me)
