Frustrated because of my failure at the game I watched on youtube a pro jap and learnt that you can kill the Allosaurus you meet using only your pistol. That's something it'd have never occurred to me, so now I'll kill the reptile to get points that will help me to buy the firewall that will allow me to continue through the route of poisonous plants.

Hey wizzies. To anyone wondering, yes I'm still playing PP Champions but last time I noticed my pc's temperature goes sky high (above 90c/194f sometimes) with PP Champions running along with OBS. I don't want my computer to have a meltdown on me anytime soon. I did a good cleaning recently, there wasn't much dust on the fans but I think there was enough to take a toll. Let's see how this goes. Maybe I'll go back to PP 4 or something that doesn't fry my hardware. I don't know.

Hi wizzies, I haven't posted in this twitch thread for a while. I just wanted to share with you what happened to me today. I woke up at 4 am in the morning as usual and decided to play some MGS VR missions, game I've been playing for about a month now and which I'll 100 percent pretty soon, and I decided to stream it, as I often do, when 10 minutes in the stream out of nowhere I saw that I was being hosted by someone. I didn't mind, thinking it was just a small channel like me, with less than 100 followers. I thought this because MGS VR missions is a game that few if nobody streams, and has 2800 followers in twitch. In fact, if you go to the the page of MGS VR missions on twitch you will find some of my past streams along another russian guy.
Anyhow, after a minute or so I checked the chat and notice the viewer count and there was like 234 people watching me play. I thought it was a glitch, so I posted "wtf 234 viewers?" in the chat.
It didn't freak me out as I was more focused on finishing the special mode missions which can be laborious, so I didn't pay much attention to it, but at some point I started to wonder about this twitch channel that was hosting me. I thanked him and I decided to keep playing, and after being satisfied with my progress I stopped streaming and checked the channel and found out that it's a channel with 137k followers dedicated to MGS live streams. Maybe for someone else this would have been something big or good, I thought nothing of it but I guess some of you might find it interesting.

I'm one VR mission that consists of 10 consecutive missions to 100% Metal Gear Solid VR missions, but first I'll try to get a best time in every level of the sneaking mode. I read that you can unlock a model of Mei Ling(the cute asian engineer that lets you save your game in MGS 1) to "photograph" if you beat those levels with a best time.
After that I'll play a game I haven't played in 15 years and that I never got to finish as a little child. The game in question is Resident Evil 3, and I'll be playing it on hard difficulty.

I streamed a little bit recently but only 2 people showed up after streaming for about an hour, I can stream a bit but I am limited by some constraints, I cant stream after 5pm or on sunday/saturday because parents will be home, and also I cant continuously stream for hours at a time because I have various things I need to do every day like chores and personal study/learning, I have streamed on youtube mostly now because it doesnt have adverts when adblock is on and twitch does

I'm glad that this franchise is still alive. I remember playing the DOS PM2 a lot back in 2020 for about a few months and i loved it despite the balancing issues and the repetition which were not fixed in the remake.

Does PM5 have those problems too? Because i can't easily tell from your gameplay. Can you go adventuring and find a lot of expensive stuff early and then sell it? Are the contest wins overpowered compared to doing regular jobs? Can you camp in front of a cave and raise your stats endlessly? Those were my main compaints with PM2.

Hey wiz, yes, you can go adventuring in PM5 as well. The reason you couldn't find it on my gameplay is because I'm not adventuring at all. I'm doing a 'decent childhood' run at this time and going to some medieval shithole land filled with monsters and cutthroats is not part of the package. I'm taking a lot of decisions based on roleplay, like letting my daughter continue to attend music classes despite the fact she maxed out music, just because her best friend also attends there (I figure that's what she would like). Since you're familiar with the series, you are probably wondering wth am I doing in there.

They expanded a lot on the raising a child part of the game btw, with more options compared to previous entries, also it's set in modern times which I prefer.

About the repetition, yes, it's repetitive, incredibly so. Even if you go adventuring, it will get very repetitive almost immediately. This game being mostly a raising a child simulator, it makes sense that building a routine is a huge part of it, but that will probably sound like an excuse for most people. Also money is only an issue early on, once you purchased the expensive stuff, your money will pile up rather quickly.

I'm really enjoying PM5 so far and my only complaint is the lack of events between the students. I played 30h so far and got maybe 3 short events that gives more exposition and some character development to a couple of them. Interaction is mostly reduced to visiting their homes on sundays. It could be a lot more than that.

I'm planning to do more runs, a vengeful princess focusing in adventuring and a Watamote run where I'll make a hiki otaku or somethig, we'll see.

Good to know. I'm busy with other things right now but i'm sure i'll eventually play it anyway.
I also played PM4SE (DS) on desmume back then but i didn't got much of it as i couldn't find an english translation for it, and never finished it much like PM1 (PC98 and MSX) which has one of the best music in my opinion but not much in terms of gameplay, which is why i ended up mostly playing PM2 instead.
I just checked, i have 42 saves most of which are completed and 17 screenshots with the guardian and its dialogue after beating the war god which is one of the challenges i did back then. I remember beating him in under a year (still in 1210) by picking 1 January as the birthday and doing what i said in the previous post: did adventuring in the first month and camped each 10 seconds to reset the encounter timer, got all the expensive items, sold them, then did 1 church job followed by 2 desert adventures in which i camped in front of the demon cave and raised my consitution while also selling the demon pendant i just bought to increase my magic attack. A few months later doing only magic and fighting classes and i was surprised to see that only RNG is getting in your way of beating any opponent, as the crits do 3x damage in this game.

Also the original PM2 graphics are still looking amazing years later!

I know, it's specially bad with games that for example use high resolution fonts on top of the pixel art text box which make it terribly inconsistent which completly ruins it for me.
Also note that for me it looks even better since i'm playing it in 640x480 on a 19 inch CRT where it does look good even in parts that for you probably look smudged or uneven. Like in pic related the kanji under AGE, kg and cm and the two red text boxes along with the 2nd and 5th icons on bottom right which in 640x480 look differently in color due to dithering.
