Was a pretty good thread last time just discussing what you guys are playing.
I see no reason not to have another.

I’m playing Skyrim again. I always get so bogged down with mods so this time I’m limiting myself and not installing anything with a dependency. I’m actually enjoying myself quite a bit.

but FUCk razer products. I will never buy this shit. My keyboard is razer and it cannot change rgb color scheme unless I install their shitty "synapse" software.

I was also getting blue screens on my win7. After uninstalling synapse…guess what? no more blue screens

off-topic i personally find razer products are alright, my stuff is now over 5 years old. all ive had to do so far is take mouse apart to solder on a new left click button, and it has looked like absolute shit ever since but it works fine. the headset broke at one of the connection between the band and the earpiece, but i used jbweld to fix that

on-topic i played taur today. i thought i was in a tutorial mode or something, but nothing new happened when i reached 100% in the campaign, you just keep fighting battles, and no new tutorial info popped up. i hate the controls for that game. left clcik for your main attack, mouse move to aim around… it's like a pure mouse/aiming game most of the time… but they put the secondary attack not on the mouse but F or something. weird. one of those games where maybe the idea of it is more interesting than the actual game

I'm playing pic related, I'm at the part when you arrive to Atlanta after Joe gets brutally murdered by Abby I would say that the game is OK at this point, it pretty much plays like the 1st game and is not as controversial or bad as I thought (just a bit of lesbianism and some minor Jewish scene) the game is fine, I don't think it's a masterpiece or anything (the 1st one was a good game but not a masterpiece by any measure) It's good, it's fun and I'm having a good time.

Maybe things will change later on but for now I'm satisfied.

I've been playing megaman powered up, it's a decent game, if a bit easy, the only thing is the controls are godawful; megaman feels extremely slippery in this title and I don't like it at all. If you've played the original megaman games you'll know every single one after 2 has had very tight and precise controls. You could say the controls are rightfully slippery because megaman 1 had kinda slippery controls, but I don't think it's comparable; megaman 1 feels bearable, but this, hardly.

genesis alpha one is cool for a few hours. quickly figured out the solution to infestations appearing randomly on the ship. you just build ship with a single max length corridor and have everything coming from that. so as you run back and forth you inevitably hear the noise from aliens and can eliminate them before they cause problems. also tons of turrets and shields alone the corridor and doors. anywhere that your robots go, like to pick up things at x or drop them off at x, there is a chance it spawns aliens. also in the tractor beam room, and hangar. so just put turret in all those places and it stops them from spawning essentially. i liked the idea of this game a lot, but it's really just some indie game without much depth. it could easily receive updates/dlc and become vastly more fun, but i dont think that will happen. hopefully a bigger game with similar mechanics will eventually be made

Tried Days Gone and played it for 2 days straight very thoroughly but uninstalled yesterday. I can't say I hated this game but there were a lot very annoying elements. It is also very boring and uninspired. Developers wanted to copypaste Witcher 3 and were not holding themselves back, except their open world is very secondary, locations are not interesting, enemies are generic without any variety. Characters are not memorable and their lines are very unnatural but maybe it is because rural american culture is very alien to me.
I was surprised that this game doesn't look censored and there were a lot of brutal, violent scenes. There is cold blooded stabbing and cutting, hanged people, beaten people etc. I do not enjoy looking at such things but don't mind it either, it is reality, especially when everything is in chaos. But why does our MC kills everything in sight, including the same drifters who mindlessly attack him is something I didn't understand. I think they should not be enemies by default.
In general I thought this is a very boring, grey game which doesn't have anything that can motivate the player to finish it. I personally did not care about anything that happened during my adventures.
Completely subjective of course. Has anyone on this board played it too?

Just got around to part 3 of the story in pso2.

According to the steam achievements most steam users really don't bother with the story mode.

It isn't great and it has major pacing issues but they throw star gems and titles at you for suffering through it and it adds context to things. Plus some of the characters are more interesting then they first appear.

Like the ingame idol/pop star having a double life as a secret agent supersoldier
Or Risa the ranger trainer turns out to be capable of pretty deep insights and has come to the conclusion that the best way of life is to be true to ones self, which in her case is a unapologetic gun crazy kill bot who revels in the suffering of those driven before her (favorite character so far).

I probably should be focusing on leveling stuff but whatever.
Even on "hardcore" the story gives fuck all exp. Which is probably why no one does it even if they are into this melodramatic jrpg bullshit kind of story.

Whatever, I mainly stick around for the world building and boss fights when it comes to the story.
Smacking around dark falz or whatever they are called is fun.
Can't wait to beat the snot out of Gemini, they seem to be the next big bad on the asskicking chopping block.

Also the SAO crossover is going on so damn near every male PC running around looks like Kirito, which it pretty lame.
Did appreciate them getting the voice actors over and it's clear effort was put into this crossover event so even if I think SAO was kind of a shitshow I can't complain too much.

Has anyone here played Megaman extensively? I am obsessed with this series, it's possibly the most fun video game I've ever played. These are the only games that I've come back to to beat multiple times, and I'm currently in the process of beating one of the newer entries. I wish there were more games that replicated the classic series, I'm not really a big fan of X-style Megaman, though the X-spinoff Zero series has really fun bosses.

Play 2, 3 and four regularly on Famicom. Usually 4, since it is so easy, but has almost as good levels and music as 2.

X2 I've finished once on SFC and it is good, but already has unnecessary new gameplay elements.

If you like the difficulty of 2 and the style, try playing Taito's Power Blazer, which was released heavily modified (in the process losing the difficulty) as Power Blade in the West. Music - which is great - is the same, but the similary to RM/MM is lost because of style change.

 No.53507

>>53502
Ok, I just played through power blazer, I didn't really like it. My biggest issue was that upgrades/drops can actually make your weapon harder to use, and it's already really janky in the first place. Other than that the bosses were pretty simple, the dragon boss in particular was just awful. Stages were not very complex, straight hallways with an enemy or two every once in a while, also some simple disappearing block sections in a couple levels. Most of the trouble I had traversing the levels was just due to the floaty controls combined with poor contrast between back and foreground textures, some bad hitboxes, and pixel perfect jumps. I think the quality of megaman 2 greatly surpasses power blazer in pretty much every aspect, they are both non-linear jump and shoot type games but that's as far as similarities go in my opinion.

Rockman 2 surely is a better game and especially more polished one, no doubt.

Normal weapon is better against some enemies and the super against others, but you can beat all enemies and bosses with either without great difficulty.

The controls are tight and very simple. There is few parts where pixel perfect jumps are needed, as there is in RM2.

Pretty much only major level feature not found in Power Blazer that is in Rockman 2 is the trap part of Quickman-level.

The bosses in 'normal' levls are more varied in design and style of attacks compared to robot masters in RM2. The more complex boss battles are to be found in the Dr. Wily levels and there is, what, four?.
Compared to that, there is only final boss level in the Power Blazer, which has a double boss fight, first one which is very similar to the disappearing yellow turd found in the first level.

I don't find any contrast problem with original hardware, AV Fami outputting to CRT. Maybe the parts where there is sky blue background, I could see the player character blending because of similar colors of background and character, but there is obviously similar 'problem' in pretty much all Fami/NES RM/MM's.

There isn't any 'hitbox' problems related to enemies, only in the doors and ladders, which require you to be exactly at the middle of them.
Some if not all of the bosses do not indigate any health loss with sound or anything else and that can be confusing, especially in the beehive boss.

Humanoid robot fighting against more animalistic robots, futuristic levels with many similarities, some evil human siccing these robots against the Utopian society. I see many similarities to Rockman/Megaman.
Latter have much more weapons, gained from robot masters, but which are mostly useless or not needed (except in one Dr. Wily boss, just like in 4's final Wily fight).
Since there is no sliding or megabuster in 2, the basic gameplay mechanics are just as simple.

Plus, they both have amazing music.

 No.53513

>you can beat all enemies and bosses with either without great difficulty.
I believe that for every boss except the dragon, as soon as you enter its boss room it can instantly fly into you and damage you and there is no way to know when it will do a high jump or a low roll, only way I beat it was just spamming short range red boomerang and using a health tank
>The controls are tight and very simple. There is few parts where pixel perfect jumps are needed, as there is in RM2.
I wouldn't call the controls tight, they were just 'ok', somewhere in between super mario and megaman, I had trouble inching the character forward like is possible in every megaman game
>Pretty much only major level feature not found in Power Blazer that is in Rockman 2 is the trap part of Quickman-level.
Well, most of the stuff in power blazer was just extremely simplified versions of stuff you could find in any megaman NES title, for example the yoku blocks in power blazer were just used as a hazard with no puzzle or memorization aspect like what you could find in megaman
>The bosses in 'normal' levels are more varied in design and style of attacks compared to robot masters in RM2
Most of the bosses are really slow with a simple pattern, I hardly felt moments where I needed to pay much attention, a boss was either a kill as fast as possible boss or a boss where you have to bait, wait, jump and shoot, repeat
>I don't find any contrast problem with original hardware
I got used to it after playing a little while, but there were a lot of points in the game where I couldn't tell if a block was a piece of scenery or a background and ended up in a pit, I definitely never had that problem in any megaman game
>There isn't any 'hitbox' problems related to enemies
I was thinking of one part in particular with the falling spike ceiling on a chain things (basically metalman spikes), there is an inconsistency where you can slightly clip into the side of the spike while it's going up without getting hit but then get hit when it falls down, also it wasn't intuitive right away on how to approach these spikes because you'll notice part of your head can clip into them without damaging you
>Some if not all of the bosses do not indigate any health loss with sound or anything else
Yeah that was awful, I had to watch a video on youtube to make sure I was actually doing any damage, no idea why there isn't a health bar for the bosses
>Humanoid robot fighting against more animalistic robots, futuristic levels with many similarities, some evil human siccing these robots against the Utopian society. I see many similarities to Rockman/Megaman.
Sure, they have a similar theme, but they play a lot differently, power blazer surely lacking in polish
>Latter have much more weapons, gained from robot masters, but which are mostly useless or not needed
Arguable, the only real useless weapon in megaman 2 is crash bomb, the rest I find have their place(s) for clever usage

 No.53524

I've been playing megaman X3 for literally the entire day and I think I'm ready to put it down now. I'm at the final boss and I can say that this game is insanely difficult, X1 and X2 come nowhere close to this level of difficulty. In X3 everything does a crap ton of damage to you and enemies are placed in levels in such a way that it punishes you for trying to go fast, which is annoying. Common enemies in stages are no longer dumb cannon fodder, they will dodge your attacks or put up shields. Maverick weapons I actually ended up using a lot more than any other megaman game just because it felt like the game was designed around them, each weapon has more than enough ammo and are for the most part great at clearing levels. There is a system in the game where you get to collect some ride armor which you can spawn in at certain pads in levels, I thought this is stupid, I never really used it except to wiz through a few screens without care because operating the ride armor basically makes you invulnerable. All in all I think X3 is a decline in quality from the previous iterations, everything about it is just wrong, I wouldn't be surprised if the design work done on this was outsourced.

I just finished playing both of the DLCs for The Witcher 3. I'm impressed at just how much content there was. The only real disappointment was the rune crafting stuff. I paid a boat load of gold to upgrade his tools and ultimately none of the enhancements looked better than the alternate of just putting runestones/glyphs into the slots. I wish I could live in toussaint, it's so beautiful.

Been playing Pathfinder Wrath of the Righteous Beta 2. Despite terrible amount of bugs (it is a beta after all) and tedious, stupidly implemented armies and battle system (something like very primitive Heroes of Might and Magic), I greatly enjoyed the game and on full release it should be much better than the first one.
The illusion of choice is very well made. The story changes depending on what mythic powers you choose. I played through beta twice, first time I chose Trickster, there were special dialogue options and NPCs reacted to my choice. Didn't finish the playthrough because of bugged quest.
Next one was a evil demon playthrough. Mythic quests were different, instead of being invited to the council of tricksters I was abducted by enemy demoness and then saved by succubi queen Nocticula, who became my patron and in general plays important role in the fourth act, it really impacts the story. In the Trickster playthrough I had to bust my ass to Nocticula senpai to notice me and grant me an audience, in the second it was a breeze.
Companions are better than they were in Kingmaker. Didn't like the nigger paladin, and the nigger faggot cleric was whining to much, but Wenduag, Camellia, Daeran, Arueshalae and the tiefling thief were interesting.

 No.53571

>>53570
Yeah, i have. It is a good game, very long, like 140 hours or so, but enjoyable. The combat is fucking hard sometimes, pre-buffing your entire party to survive a battle will be necessary later on, it can get tedious. Time limits on quests are also retarded, but you get used to it. Companions are a bit bland. Liked the tiefling sisters, you can even make a three way romance with them, which was interesting.
I recommend playing it. But Wrath of the Righteous will be much better once it is done.
However, the taint of modernity is rather obvious in both games. Shit like feminism and homosexuality are subtly promoted, and in the Wrath there are even lesbian spymaster and half orc lesbian military leader that are married. But I guess that can't be avoided in the western games nowadays.

Basically the same gameplay loop as the first one (except you encounter more human ennemies than zombies) but for 30 hours of gameplay. I'll start rushing through the rest of the game now. TLOU 1 was bearable because it was short, I'm already bored with Part II and I'm just halfway through. Also, I think the plot is less intresting than the first one.

No exp. with Razer but I'm disappointed with "le gaming" label in general after buying a gaming mouse and a keyboard (firm is ZET GAMING; I think it's middle-ish in price/quality) and having them both fail after just 15 months, almost right after their 1-year warranty expires. Didn't abuse them or anything, didn't use that much at all in fact.
Now it's a wireless set by Microsoft. 3-year warranty, much less wires, convenient for chair/bed switching, works just fine. Haven't tried it in speed-sensible gaming but really I'm not even that good to feel the extra quick response or something.

Decided to play Ghost Recon: Wildlands and spent the last 3 days in it (offline campaign). It is a third-person shooter sandbox, set in Bolivia (though I don't know how authentic the map is). Gameplay is very repetitive in a manner of "tower capturing", but I think it is not boring because there is good attention to details. Shooting and weapon handling feels good, there are fun and satisfying combat situations and good special ops vibe overall. If you like military genre, customization, really existing weapons, open-world, crouching, taking out assholes with silenced weapons, amushing etc., give it a try. There are a lot of weapons and gear. There is a lot of brutality, and it's pretty graphic scenes in this game, like torture, hanging, dismemberment etc. I can't say this game is difficult but it still requires at least primitive tactical approach because shitters will scream, alert, call for backup in any suspicious situation. I'm playing on a high difficulty and they kill me instantly, the same way as I kill them, mostly one-shot, so it's fair. Cartel higher ups are charismatic and more or less well-made as characters, I think. Not too forced. I am sure devs were taking a lot of inspiration from "Sicario". Voice acting is good, gangsters and military sound believable to me.

Cons: dead bodies disappear quickly for some reason; AI could be better and it would be a pretty hard game in this case; thin walls, like wooden ones can't be shot through (maybe mistaken). Some other insignificant cons but I don't remember. Graphics engine is good but not very impressive. Physics are average, especially when driving.
I think it's a good game with a big budget if you enjoy such themes and non-intrusive wandering around.

Playing Griftlands. I wasn't expecting to like it but I am, although I wish they hadn't changed it from a proper RPG into a fucking roguelite card game halfway through development. There's 3 different characters to play with different campaigns but they're all 4 or 5 hours long and feel like prologues to an actual game that never starts. I guess this is supposed to be offset by the inherent replayability of a roguelite, and while I have managed to build up some really fun decks I still don't think the gameplay is nearly good enough for what it's trying to do. The genre of game they've decided to make runs completely at odds with their attempt to tell a story and as a result the whole thing is just neutered. I really wish they had just stuck to making a real video game instead of settling for a fifth of one and letting RNG and procedural generation handle the rest. I hate trends.

I almost forgot to add, the soundtrack at least for combat and negotiation is beautiful. Each character has different music fitting for their personalities and all the soundtracks have multiple variations that play depending on the length of the fight and if either you or your opponents are low on health. Very satisfying to take a chunk off an enemy's healthbar and listen to the music flare up in reaction.

I just recently dropped my second attempt at playing through it for the same reason. Great writing and voice acting but there's just so much fucking downtime and the uptime isn't fun enough to be worth all the waiting. It was the second time that I got right around halfway through the game and burned out. I also think at around the point that I quit the game starts throwing way too many contacts and sub-plotlines at you all at the same time, the pacing is not very good. Always either too slow or too fast.

https://stackoverflow.com/questions/21355891/change-audio-level-from-powershell

function set-vol
{ param([switch]$down, [switch]$up)

  $a = new-object -com wscript.shell

  if ($down) {
    1..50 | % $a.SendKeys([char]174)

}

set-vol -down 50

set-vol -up 50

This script hits the keyboard media keys to raise or lower volume, save to thing.ps1 and run it. You may need to do set-executionpolicy remotesigned to permit execution of local powershell scripts beforehand. I would try:

$a = new-object -com wscript.shell
$a.SendKeys([char]173)

in a powershell prompt first, which should mute sound, as a proof of concept. If that doesn't work try the other solutions in the SO link.

The most annoying thing is that the button to talk to someone and the button to point your gun at someone are the same button and it makes it annoying to try and do either of those things because I invariably end up doing the opposite of what I want to do. The context options that you are presented with are not consistent, sometimes you can press right mouse then left to draw your weapon, at other times pressing right mouse will just make you focus on the person with no option to draw the weapon and you have to use the weapon wheel. Also it's impossible to keep your weapons equipped, they keep unequipping automatically and I have to reequip them in the weapon wheel over and over again. There are also a lot of temporary quests with no indicator on when they expire and if you do one of them the others will often be expired by the time you're done that one. Then there's all the unskippable cutscenes for things you have to do over and over and the food eating which add nothing to the game but make it more annoying. People say the witcher 3 has bad controls but I found RDR2 to be way worse.

Man. I'm glad you enjoy that game so much but BotW is such a spit in the face of the old fans such as myself. That is not a Zelda game in anyway and now there's a sequel to it. It's clear this is the path they're taking for those games now and if you liked the old games, well, fuck you. We don't need you anymore, all the kids love our openworld shit now. I feel like the past few years so many games franchises dropped the ball on me.

Same happened with Fallout 76. I've been playing it since Fallout 2 came out and even defended the 4 and 5 turds from the people who got pissed with Bethesda. Then they pretty much killed whatever faith people like me had left with an online game. Again, it's clear they don't give a fuck.

Another series that decided to tell me to go fuck yourself is the Total War games, which is something I never saw it coming. The main games are now completely focused on that warhammer shit. Don't get me wrong, I kinda like warhammer lore and all but holy shit it's all they care about now. Word is they're currently working on ANOTHER one of those. The worst aspect of the game is probably the dungeon design imo. The last one especially was such a chore to go through, and most of the puzzles are nothing but a complete waste of time. I hope this is something that was improved in DDS2.

This last section requires you to land on small platforms about the size of a postcard that also have enemies on top of them. You have to land at the exact right instant and basically kiss the enemy on the lips before killing them. There are ninjas with jetpacks that fly at you and throw shurikens everywhere that knock you into instant death pits. I have never played the Zelda Wind Waker-remaster for Wii-U so I started it earlier this year on the cemu-emulator and it's been even more fun than I expected, only this year there is the Zelda-anniversary going on, so I am torn between waiting for a potential switch-remake or just keep playing.
They didn't announce anything at their E3-direct though, do you think there is still a chance they will release it this year?

You're right there would be no reason to remake the WiiU-version at all, you don't even need the pad to play. Maybe I'll stick to the emulated version as long as it's running smoothly, if anything the game on the switch won't look as nice anyway.

I have been playing Kingdom Come Deliverance lately. It's a masterpiece. It's the first first-person game I've played that I've really enjoyed. I don't really like shooters I guess, but this is great. It feels super immersive. 70 hours in and I have basically maxxed out my equipment and put bane potion on all my weapons and when I come across a group of armed guys I just tackle them all and take only the best weight to price ratio equipment from their corpses after I'm done with them.

This game gives a super sense of progression from when you start out as a noob with no armor who will easily get overpowered by most opponents to the point where you're a badass, and at all times it stays within the believable bounds of what is possible in real combat. If I see six heavily armored guys I'm gonna steer clear of them or wait until night to ambush them even now because I know I would lose without save scumming. Save scumming is fun in this game though not gonna lie because you can fight the same group of opponents over and over until you finally beat them.

hunt showdown. i got it on sale a long time ago and play it every other day. you go to compounds on the map to find clues to find boss locations, defeat the boss, banish it, defend it meanwhile, then take bounties and extract. there are mobs all over and choosing fights agaisnt certain ones and sneaking around others and trying to be quiet is part of the fun. there are other people on the map doing the same thing so you eventually run into other players and fight them. it's a very unforgiving game that rewards being paranoid and sneaky. it's hard to play as solo, i have to basically initiate fights against duos where i immediately get a kill so it becomes a 1v1… if it fails i back off and reengage from another angle until i can level the field. quite a bit of weapons to choose from to suit a variety of playstyles. i like the silenced guns and to fight from a distance so they can't hear where i'm shooting from, this makes it so i can attack from a single spot for a while without having to constantly move after a miss. there are way more hardcore games but i like hunt a lot

As I see it, it's basically has arcade mechanics, if you will. Nothing is hardcore about this game.

I guess they mean that your hunter dies and does not respawn - as a hardcore aspect.

No hate, it's a fun game, just something I recently thought about. Also it's not even realistic, when guns don't even have a bullet physics. Instead they have bullet SPEED and also the damage drop off. So from far distance, some guns do very small damage. Nothing wrong with that, just seems more casual to me… But I've also had a fair bit of fun out of Hunt

The character models are getting into uncanny valley tier because they look really good but then don't move right. I was never a huge fan of the stealth elements from Assassin's creed so I wasn't sad to see it pretty much go out the window with this game. Before origins the combat sucked ass being literally just a matter of hitting block at the right time, but now that you're able to dodge and do special attacks and stuff it's pretty decent so I can live without the stealth. I've leveled up to 44 now and have the immortal set of armor fully engraved and the game is starting to get kind of trivial but it's still fun thanks to the mercenaries piling on top. I'm going to extrapolate on this, the only annoying thing in this game are engineer suicide grenades, he is supposed to be a defensive class but he can run into a room with a EMP grenade primed and just jihad himself and get like a penta-kill, basically clear the room, also cant stand anywhere near an engineer corpse because they ALWAYS have a emp primed and their corpse will explode between 1 and 3 seconds later, another strategy to take care of them is basically sacrifice yourself by hugging them so he only kills you and himself, taking one for the team

the gameplay 'reward' is definitely archaic, you dont get points for assisting or healing or anything, theres no mvps awards etc. so no one harassing you about your score or something, kind of refreshing from new flashy games now that need to make everyone feel like they are super awesome with a little smiley sticker and gold star on top.

the archaic gameplay reward in a sense is the purest form of fun because it developed through emergent gameplay created by the player. I think it feels so refreshing because fun nowadays is dictated by the developers and the corporate behemoth that is backing them. team fortress 2 kinda brings the same spirit along but I think the balance is a bit off and its more focused on individuals making their own moves and just coincidentally seems like they function as a team, if I were to choose based on teammanship I would say tf classic makes you feel a lot more like a team which makes it fun

I wanted to include a fat normal type in my roster but I just can't put them to good use, I guess when it comes to single player, even in rom hacks, fast and powerful is the way to go?  No.54499

>>54497
What you can use mostly depends on the way trainers are balanced by the hack creator. A good hack will have at least a couple options before the first major battle (and hopefully opens up even more options early for the next ones) to deal with said battle similar to how you can raise a caterpie, mankey or nidoran to deal with brock if you start with charmander (and weedle/pikachu/oddish in misty's case, etc). I don't know the exact dispersion of pokemon locations for the hack you are playing.
Status effects can be very overpowered, sleep probably being the strongest (and spore being the most accurate sleep move I think) and toxic and paralysis being good too. Toxic is a good move for defense-oriented pokemon that use setups like wish/protect, recover (or softboiled) or rest (chesto berries basically turn this move into a free full restore but I don't remember if it's used on pokemon with slower playstyles). Freeze is like a semi-permanent sleep, but unreliable to apply as far as I recall. I don't know the chance to proc on attract compared to paralyze effect. Double team, sand attack and the intimidate ability can be really useful for fucking enemies over too. Investing in X items could help you out a lot as well.
Slakoth's final form basically has stats on par with or surpassing legendaries, so that's why he has such a shit ability. He was kinda cool with hyper beam in the base game, since he can only attack every other turn anyway, but hyper beam is probably a special damage attack on your rom hack. Before diamond and pearl, all moves of the same type dealt strictly physical or special damage (so strangely all ghost attacks were considered physical for example, even though shadow ball lowered special defense and the best ghost was special-oriented).
The two normal types I like using from the first three games are blissey and snorlax. Blissey is really good vs. special attack-oriented pokemon, but is extremely weak to physical attacks of any kind so she has to be paired with something like skarmory. Those two together are very good for a slower-paced team. Blissey learns a lot of good utility moves, has ok special attack and access to a lot of strong special moves (seismic toss can be really good on her too because it deals a fixed amount so her crap physical attack stat doesn't matter). Skarmory can learn spikes and whirlwind so you can just keep chipping down the enemy by forcing them to swap, and makes up for blissey's non-existent physical defense. You can use other pokemon with high defense to pair with blissey, but skarmory is probably the best.
Snorlax is the other good normal type and is more self-reliant than blissey. Give him curse (or belly drum but it is more restrictive), rest and two strong attacks like body slam/double-edge/return/self-destruct/earthquake/rock slide/rollout/etc.
Swellow isn't beefy but you could run him if he knows the guts ability because that makes him immune to the physical attack-halving of burn and increases his physical attack power by 1.5x so long as he has a status condition on him (effectively if he's burned, paralyzed or poisoned). You also teach him the move facade because it pairs perfectly with guts, since it gains higher base damage when you have one of the three aforementioned status conditions. That makes him a bit more fast-paced than the others I mentioned, so that may not interest you.

I am playing Fire Red Omega by Drayano. If I don't get burnt out in the future I will probably give Altered Emerald and Renegade Platinum a try. I'd rather stick to stuff closer to vanilla with a few qol changes and increased difficulty. The more complicated and bloated stuff goes over my head frankly.
I know how popular Snorlax has always been, and that's precisely why I am not including it in my team lol, but I already have Alakazam and Gengar so that's a bit hypocritical of me I must admit. I am trying out different mons mainly of the first gen, since I will have Emerald to experiment more with gen 3 and it just feels right thematically, considering it's Fire Red and all… so I've benched Whiscash and am currently training a Cloyster instead for instance, although I know it's probably not the most optimal choice. To be honest it seems to me that gen 3 has more interesting mons in general than the first two from a gameplay perspective, but it's not like I know anything about the meta and all…

 No.54504

>>54502
I know cloyster can learn spikes in crystal, never really used him much past that but i dont see why he would lose that capability. His physical defense is very nice too. If you don't wanna use broken mons like snorlax, that's fine. No reason you can't use slaking. Just have to play around his handicap. You can make a lot of suboptimal pokemon work if you figure out their advantages, counters, disadvantages and synergies. Trying to branch out and test new things is what makes pokemon so fun in my opinion.
All the generation 3 games are pretty high up there in ranking. I liked trading with people and having a bunch of occupied secret bases to screw around in all over the map. Platinum is another really good game if you don't get burnt out after emerald. It's basically just the expanded version of diamond and pearl like emerald is for ruby and sapphire. It has a battle frontier just like emerald even. The gold remake for NDS also has one I think (and that game is kinda cool because the first pokemon in your party follows you around the overworld). There are probably Drayano hacks for all of those as well.

 No.54506

>>54504
Yes Drayano made hacks for HGSS but he's working on v2 for these so I'll wait for that.
My Cloyster does know spikes, is that move that good in single player? sounds like it was made for pvp mostly, although I guess I could put it to good use in combination with Altaria's perish song. That move is pretty satisfying to exploit against these annoying meat sacks that spam rest/recover/synthesis or whatever.
One thing I dislike about the hack though is the necessity to waste a slot on a HM mon, although the creator had the common sense to remove the need for flash by having dark caves lit up by default. Did the sequels alleviate that issue somewhat? I can't imagine the developers ignoring such a common complaint from the players since 1997.

Another minor question if you don't mind: I gave a lvl 14 pikachu a thunderstone and now raichu won't learn any new move even though I got him up to lvl 40. Did I fuck up by having pikachu evolve at such a low level? I was also disappointed to learn he won't learn surf, idk if that is specific to that romhack, but I'm pretty sure that gym leader's raichu did know the move, what happened there?

Yeah, the only way you can get value out of spikes is if you can force the enemy to swap a lot. I can't remember if Drayano hacks are among the kind that encourage the battle AI to do this more often.
For HMs, I used to just try finding a pokemon that can use 3 or more of them and load them up so the other 5 pokemon could have real movesets. Your hack says it lets you overwrite HMs at any time instead of having to visit the move deleter, though, so I would just see if you have anything that can learn a nice TM and temporarily replace the TM move to navigate with the HM. If you don't want to do that all the time, I think zigzagoon/linoone is your best choice for HM slave. He can learn cut, strength and surf as far as I am aware. I don't know if you need more than those to beat firered. I think most games afterwards have less mandatory HMs for clearing the story, but it may vary. Another good HM slave is gyarados surprisingly, but it kinda sucks since he's actually a decent pokemon for battling. With pokemon sun and moon, they ended up completely phasing out HMs and instead had a feature where you unlock pokemon you can summon and ride to produce the same effects as HMs in past games.
Generally pokemon learn their stronger levelup moves a lot earlier if you delay evolution, but I think raichu actually has very few or even no levelup moves at all. You can still teach him thunderbolt and other moves eventually through TMs. Pikachu also isn't terrible if you never evolve him because he has a signature hold item called light ball that doubles its special attack. For surf, it's only ever been an event-exclusive (Nintendo promotional handout) move for pikachu in the base games and I am not sure if Drayano hacks make him naturally capable of learning it even if Surge's raichu had it. You might want to get a new pikachu and see if it can, because surf is actually a pretty good battle move especially on pikachu since ground is his only counter (and many ground types are dual-rock type with low special defense so they take 4x damage from water).

>I can't remember if Drayano hacks are among the kind that encourage the battle AI to do this more often.
Sort of. But it's not quite as unpredictable as a real human would obviously. They sort of have to when their mon is one turn away from fainting from perish song for example.

>gyarados surprisingly, but it kinda sucks since he's actually a decent pokemon for battling

Is he? I remember when I would play Pearl in summer '07, and iirc he was not very popular among the most dedicated competitive players back then because of his double type, ditto for charizard, but perhaps things have changed since then.

>Your hack says it lets you overwrite HMs at any time instead of having to visit the move deleter, though

Pretty sure I can't, at least not when a pokemon learns a move "naturally" by lvling up. I have not used many TMs so far as they are pretty scarce.

Sorry to ask again, but are you knowledgeable about decent romhacks? Drayano's sound the best for my tastes as they are polished, relatively close to vanilla and not unnecessarily bloated. It's what I am after.

Gyarados has always been on the higher end in Smogon metas, even with the huge electric weakness. He is decently bulky, has the intimidate ability and his good physical attack combined with dragon dance makes him a nice setup sweeper.
I guess there might be different versions of the hack you are playing. When I search for it, the first thing that pops up is a pre-patched rom of a director's cut (DX) version that says TMs are infinite and HMs can be overwritten.
If you just want things like all pokemon/items obtainable and more challenging trainers, the Drayano hacks (or ones in a similar style made by other people in the case of gen 6+) are your best options. If you end up wanting to branch out more, I can make some suggestions. There are decent hacks with stuff like new types, completely or partially new rosters of pokemon and new overworlds with different stories. One little hack I like to play when I'm having to wait somewhere for a few minutes is a mock-up of the battle frontier battle factory mode, but for the original red version. You can just rent some pokemon, start a streak, play one or two battles then save and come back to it later.

There is one hack with a different roster that technically isn't fake, that being the 1997 version of pokemon gold. Someone put together a simplistic story similar to what the first couple generations have and called it super gold 97.
Also, there was an interesting one called fool's gold that has the same roster but everything is a different type and has been given custom sprites to reflect the changes, although that is practically a fakemon roster at that point.
Anyway, since you have the regular version of that hack, keep in mind that linoone can use the 3 major HMs. That may or may not help you flesh the rest of your team out for trainer battles.

a game called Muck on steam, it's free. you gather resources, fight, build, and survive on an island. every x rounds or so a boss spawns. you get coins from smelting crafting gold into coins or more commonly by killing enemies which are used to unlock chests that contain random permanent powerups. there are also obelisks that spawn in mobs for you to kill that rewards you with a powerup once finished. mobs spawn at midnight and every night they get harder

it's a cool idea but unfortunately it's way too fast paced. maybe that is the point, but you're always pressed for time. bosses also tend to spawn right on your position which also is dumb

OG Tomb Raider.

I'm the kind of player who looks like to sneak, carefully look around, and then only advance after taking out each enemy one at a time. Preferably while sniping.

So, to be rewarded for that over and over again is very gratifying:
- I just got ambushed by a velociraptor, and I see these huge prints…is there a fucking T-Rex nearby? Let's be careful. *screen shakes, duck into nearby cave as a T-Rex zips by* Called it.
- What's that shadow doing there in this hallway? Let's walk up to it slowly. *guillotine zips by* Called it.
- A hallway this long with no traps? Let's take a moment to look around. *see cracked floor that would have crumbled into a spike pit if I walked straight* Called it.
-This opens up into way too open an area. Let's edge up and L1 around the corner. *sees pack of wolves waiting around the corner* Called it.
- I've NEVER seen a long, sloped hallway like this before. Are they going to Indiana Jones me on this? *boulder drops down* OH SHIT, CALLED IT!

This is one of the VERY VERY FEW FPS games where I have been able to have a non-Doom-esque run-and-gun approach and been tremendously rewarded for it. Also, every time I call one of these, I feel so goddam smart.

BUT HOLY SHIT ARE THE CONTROLS SO GODDAM AWFUL. It really makes you appreciate how much better controls in 3D gamse have gotten and where we've came from.

Ayyy, got ALPHA 3 MAX on my PSP.

Been going back to aforementioned PSP and reliving the good old days. Mostly been going through Dissidia 012 with bouts of THUG 2 REMIX and Lego Harry Potter(year 1-4) for lighter play. The original PSP seems like such a forgotten gem.

Control issues:
- No strafe. This is the biggest thing. I guess there is a 'sidle' movement you can do, but it's not a fast strafing movement.
- You can slightly move to the left and right while moving forward, but you do not have full autonomous control over rotation while moving or strafing. For example, in Megaman Legends, you can move forward, and then use the shoulder pads to rotate left and right however you want.
- The rotation/movement dynamic is VERY abrupt. If you are moving forward and rotate too far to the left or right too quickly, Lara will just AUTOMATICALLY stop. There's this sweet spot of rotating while moving forward that you can do with absolutely NO margin of error or transition inbetween.
- The "rotate 180" button is invaluable, but there is a much better control paradigm, which is if you had a strafing ability. If you could strafe, then you could do as in Megaman Legends and point yourself in a particular direction, and hit a button to immediately correct the camera to that position.
- Rotating is so slow. If I want to make a 90 degree corner, I either have to go forward and hit something akin to a perfect gravity turn from KSP, gradually increasing my rotation as I'm going forward, or I stop in place and Lara does this incredibly awkward and slow waddle.

I don't fault the game for it, because it was "of its time," and games were figuring out controls back then and what was developed in Mario 64 and MML hadn't become standard yet.

I'm right near the end of that myself as I never forced myself to get unstuck on those two. It was something stupid of course. I'll play the seasons next, then beat Majora, after that the only real Zelda game left I'd not have beaten would be Skyward Sword, or as I like to call it, A Scanner Darkly graphics Zelda. As it is I have no computer able to do dolphin nor downloaded skyward sword. I figured I"d just replay the ones I like forever. Also I played a link between worlds then sold it and skipped zelda two of course. Too hard. Also four sword adventures or whatever does not count nor did the pc games.

So…I've played:
>zelda one
>alttp
>la
>minish cap
>oot
>albw
>ww
>tp
And nearly did
>mm
>oa
>kinda os

Not at all oracle seasons nor skyward sword. Also the skipped ones not at all of course. I love Zelda but like having some left to do for later. I quit games a lot too due to stress and that goes with not just being stuck off and on but also the stress of that falling feeling you get when the last anime episode is done. I avoid finishing some anime due to this or even a book series. That crushing depression. You feel like someone died….

Maybe I'll play botw and zelda two some day after the three, though skyward will have to wait. I'm too cheap to buy a wii and hax it. I'm a neet after all. I'm a schizoid sort of go-bag only neet that does not like expensive tech nor non-mobile tech, so dolphin is a no-go for that reason. I hope I will like hunting for masks and such in mm, I hope the graphics grows on me from asd-g zelda, I hope that I don't get stuck in seasons like I did when I was a child ages and ages ago.

>why never play it/them after literally (a) decade(s)?

Fear and depression and stress.

Lots of other games get in my way as well. Why stress over the few Zelda games they made that might make you feel stupid that you love at the same time when you could replay something instead? I kind of want to replay ff7, golden sun one and two, cavestory, the sotn and gba castlevania games, megaman zero and megaman x games (I suck at these so not really, though I like dying I guess), tetris and pinball for an hour randomly a day even, etc. I recently stopped playing mm on account of the clock triggering my ocd and played through yoshi's island and aria of sorrow instead.

Anyway, rip romsmania, though there are others I just felt like shouting out to the void that another one fucken DIED. What if I end up in the pokey and lose my files that I have backed up? What if there's an emp? I don't have them all on disc yet, though mostly as dvd's have the longest shelf life. But do I have a computer with a dvd drive that is mobile and covered in foil? Nope. I should do that. Well, I have an external hdd with foil around it usually and it's got all the files, so….that and a bunch of sd's and flash drives, they can't all fail at once, but back to reality the pokey and starting from scratch is the issue there. I only have three differnt places left I'd go for them, that's scary. Well, four, though partially a collection that'd be.

cdromance (few games but cue and bin for psx)
the pirate gay (fuck full sets)
vimm (only good option left)
archive dot org (does this even work?)
some weird github thing (seems okay)

Well, technically more than three, but only one of which I know is good for it all to the point of being like emuparadise.

>this comment is waaay too much of a meandering blog…

I've never even beaten a kirby game though they seem easy. I wonder why I never do things? It's not autism, just lack of efficiency, not that I am you. I also never did Shantae though started to with that as well. So many games I start then stop, once recent one being a reality simulator about some robot succubus on the n64 but cannot recall the name though pino is the male robot in the snes one of which I did not finish either…I'd look it up but then I'll end up never beating the last dungeon on oracle.

Man it was a blast if you haven't yet played it, I finished WW on cemu on my mid-budget-computer without problems and it definitely ran better than on dolphin, but not sure if they have improved how it runs since then.

It seems they took the bad things from the original and improved on it, you get a super-fast sail without the need to re-arrange using your wind-dingus every time, the fetch-quest at the end is easier, and I believe there wasn't a hero-mode in the original where no hearts dropped, which that was a nice challenge.

I also replayed MM and SkywardS, while MM is my favorite Skyward was good but didn't have the oldschool charm like WW, maybe next will be BotW again because Riju, depending on how it runs on Emulator so I don't have to delete my save on the switch.

I'm playing this game right now, it's sort of like an open-world platformer thing, I got to some part which I think is close to the end and I have no idea what to do, I found some item after killing a boss and then the radio-quest guy was just like "yeah take that to a transporter somewhere", I walked around looking for it a bit and got bored. I hate these open world games for that reason, in linear games you might get frustrated because a boss is hard or something, but at least you can keep trying and learning, but when you get lost and dont know what to do in a game like this it is just plain annoying

I suppose the list is incomplete but it was an attempt of people to find all rpg or rgp mechanic sharing games on the psx that someone had made. I only have 20 psx titles downloaded so I figure I should at least have these as I like rpgs. What I have actually is:

ff9
xenogears
ff tactics
silent hill
vagrant story
re 3
re 1
(have re 2 on the n64)
megaman legends
megaman legends 2
legacy of kain soul reaver (it's 'pretty')
parasite eve II
parasite eve
ff7
grandia
tomb raider
megaman x4
sotn
lsd dream emulator (it's also 'pretty')
Legend of Dragoon
disruptor

I even had to delete some others due to space such as spyro and lunar legends as lunar legends is already on my gba (kinda) and spyro has games there too and lags my main potato anyway, spyro does, and is kinda lame too much….I want to download the list so as to not feel as though I missed out once I can no longer download them some day (yes the Internet is dying do not deny it). Other than rpgs I'm not sure what I'd miss. Maybe something like Hexen but they have that for n64 as well, saves space. I only added disruptor for having deleted Hexen as a psx title so a fps can be there for space saving issues. Other megaman x titles too of course, the better port of re2, redownload lunar legends silver star story (oh wait that's back onto rpg again…), then the rest on that list up there. I've wanted to play some stuff I heard of in the early 2-thousands like Valkarie profiles and never even touched it. That's why it's sad. I wonder if Chrono Cross is really bad? FF8 is less cringey than 9, the first kain game is more rpg tier than the 'pretty' artistic soul revear that I have. My point being that my collection of psx games is overly modest. I have like 50 n64 games and 20 psx when most people would have more psx than n64 but size stopped me from bothering in the past. Another one I'd like is Myst for the psx, not that I'd ever beat it of course, but it's the thought that counts. If I had around 100 psx then I'd rest easy but I need at least 50 top psx games for me to not stress off and on about it. My tv shows are what is really killer though as I only have 2 tv shows and I have 63 that I'd like to download and not all even have magnet links anymore for every season on the pirate gay anymore, so I end up indecisive and conflicted then decide to download nothing and use what I have and not worry….I used to have more stuff downloaded than I have now and was depressed back then over a decade ago but gave up my computer one time when my ID was stolen, not to blog, but that's how that happened.

But yeah, I have a lot of psx games I'd like to download and take forever to play games anyway and don't have the space nor speeds to do it comfortably when priorities negate my bothering. It's not the board for it, but tv shows I'd miss more considering I do have lots of roms other than psx anyway and books and some manga as well. I am missing really tv shows and they'd be a tb plus another 2tb to back up the first tb and some would be hard to find downloads for so I'd have to rip them off of a putlocker clone and that's stressful to attempt now days as downloads fail. It's also stressful when things like romsmania go down, though I'd use cdromance in regards to psx for cue and bin anyway. It's still going to make me upset anyway thinking about it so I try to not do so. I only have one drive that could hold the psx titles and so I don't feel like having that uneven of storage right now. Why torture the servers just for the drive to fail? I should have two more first. As a neet such things end up core issues for me.

ps: yes I know lsd is just a walking simulator, it's still artistically nice though

tl;dr: that list is just a note so as to help me mass download them upon my having drives and their backups and fast Internet (and being in the mood to attempt it (of which means after downloaded 60+ tv shows that might be hard to find magnet links for)) download a decent psx collection without feeling as though I forgot x thing I might want to play some day. It's an incomplete list but was a cheap shot I got of 'rpg or rpg related psx games' so as to not stress over what my entire collection ought to be. I've only 20 psx or so in my files and the 60ish more in that list (some I have in that list so maybe 50ish more?) would help it to be a nicer library of psx games with the goal being at least 50 games and more preferably 100ish.

Playing as Mewar in India. I've been surrounded by enemies tangled in alliances, and I've just fought two wars against them.

The first one Delhi and I were against Multan, Malwa and my greatest enemy Jaunpur. Although we were outnumbered we did pretty well, we probably could have wrecked Jaunpur if Delhi didn't waste its 20+ stack besieging a fort Multan took from Baluchistan. Delhi left the war after Jaunpur started taking its forts; I peaced out then taking a couple provinces from Multan including a core of Delhi's which ended our alliance. I'll have to make sure they don't become too powerful now.

The second war was risky as the first barely ended and I was out of manpower. But Bahmanis declared war on Gujarat so I took advantage of that. It was a war with my ally Vijyanagar against Gujarat, Sindh and, again, Jaunpur. Bahmanis did most of the sacrifice: they went into Jaunpur at my border and fought them off there. I took most of the reward. Gujarat and Sindh's armies were spread thin and my big army with no reserves destroyed them all, with help from Bahmanis and Vijyanagar. After occupying all of Sindh and Gujarat, I decided to end the war instead of trouncing Jaunpur, because I had 0 manpower and no admin points to core their provinces. Their reckoning will come at the hour of my choosing.

Now I am allied with Vijyanagar and Orissa, we are the three main Hindu powers. My main mission is to protect & expand Hinduism in the Indosphere. Pictured are my basic ambitions. I don't care to take all of India, just the northern part. I want to create a march in the Hindu Kush, conquer or at least convert Southeast Asia, colonize Australia and North America, conquer and convert Mexico.

What was up with that, they really couldn't let them finish the last 20% because they had a fallout with Kojima? The game taught me to never get too hyped about something anymore, also they used every cutscene from the game in the trailers before it even came out, at least they released the half-finished cutscenes so we can imagine what an ending could have looked like. Besides the gameplay Peacewalker did everything better in my opinion.

Pokemon-trainer relationship and bonding is something I don't quite get, can you only find out whether or not they like you by asking some NPC? One NPC told me that they dislike it when they faint in battle, does that also apply to poison, burns and other status effects? I would rather play blind to be honest, but all this stuff working under the hood is confusing to figure out.

I know people like to shit on Konami and Konami alone, but Kojima is also to blame here, he kept going over budget and was way behind schedule. It's a really ambitious game and it shows, but if Konami had let Kojima had his way the game would have probably taken a couple more years and god knows how much money, so I can understand why they pulled the plug.

The only multiplayer games I even play now days are MORPGs and CS:GO.
I don't even play proper MMOs anymore.

It's not even that I totally dislike playing with people. It's just that I like single player games more. I feel like I can do things at my own pace and don't have to do shit to keep up with the meta.
I just still play CS:GO out of habit in low stress unranked matches. Also use the bots as target practice, which is kinda fun.

I managed to ally Timurids, a bit worried about making them too strong. Once they get my institution they will be a great power. We fought Delhi, Gujarat and Malwa. I am now the dominant power in India. Just a few dev from becoming great power.
First I focused on Gujarat and Malwa and only leaving the southern front to defend forts. After completely occupying then peacing them out I went up to Delhi while their troops were all in Timurid land. Timurids peaced out after sitting their troops around, getting me out of my promise of land to them. I took 2/3 of Delhi's forts and all but two provinces without any fight. I peaced out when their 24K+ troops got near.

Now I have to worry about a coalition. I'm mostly going to be focused inward for the next decade.

For real though, all the historical tropes are actually true in EUIV.

Keep that goddam fort in Luxembourg–I don't know why because it's just a wooded province like any other, but EVERY ENEMY piles on their troops on Luxembourg and you end up getting woods+crossing bonuses when you counterattack.

Don't go on the offensive against Russia in the winter.

Afghanistan is the graveyard of empires.

France never seems to die.

All the crucial naval battles happen around Gibraltar or Malta.

Etc. etc.

I know you didnt explicitly ask for recommendations but a recommendation cant hurt and could give you something fun to play so id recommend Monster Hunter Freedom Unite (or freedom 2 they are very similar but unite has a few more monsters and features and cat companions to fight alongside) probably my favourite game for the PS2 and i enjoyed it so much i thought id atleast recommend it so that you might have the same positive experience with it that i did. i was addicted to another game when MH world came out so i didnt play much of it so cant accurately say whether its a great deal better than world but i definitely enjoyed MHFU. thanks for indirectly reminding me to give world more of a play :)

Managed to win the wars with tons of mercs over force limit. I ended up taking a single province from the coalition, and taking all but one of Afghanistan (turned over to vassal Khorasan). My situation is not over though, I have to handle bankruptcy now. I'm maxxed out on loans already but I'll have to prolong it by debasing currency/selling land to estates. Now to protect myself while bankrupt I'm going to need to wait for my current truces to end then wage wars again to rest during truces.
War pro-tip: stop enemies from carpet sieging by sending a stack of troops nearby.
I've force-converted my vassal Khorasan. I don't need to worry about Timurids being too strong after they took the brunt of two wars as my ally. I can easily expand there with Khorasan's cores.

Fun fact: Mewar was the last place widow burning (sati) was legal.

Man there sure are a lot of lethal options in MGS V, I always found that curious in stealth games, that you have stuff like shotguns, explosives, machine guns… I mean, having options is nice, but does anyone play games like Hitman or MGS like shooters, killing anything that gets in the way?

I'm still playing nioh. Is it just me or do low and high stances suck? I have pretty much started to ignore them entirely after some initial experimentation. I know you will get more ki for switching stances with one perk enabled but I hope it doesn't become necessary for me to rely on that because of how inferior those stances are to mid stance.

 No.54841

>>54840
All the stances are good. They have strong strengths and weaknesses.

 No.54858

>>54841
Can you elaborate in which situations you use them? I get that high stance is supposed to be for dealing heavy damage, but it's also slow as fuck so I can hit less times, meanwhile my ki takes a much bigger hit. I can just go down to mid stance and hit one more time, deal basically the same amount of damage, and have more ki to dodge away and/or block. Low stance on the other hand just sucks because the block sucks and it takes longer for every fight because of the reduced damage. With lower dps weapons it's a nightmare. I haven't really gotten into using the skill points for shit yet though beyond the basics, are there skills that make the stances more useful?

 No.54862

>>54858
There’s skills that make it so switching stances during ki pulse makes you recover more, but that’s hard to pull off and frankly unnecessary.

Each stance is a little different because it changes by weapon, but generally you use high stance to hit hard. This a more useful if you can be sure your hits will stagger the enemy so you don’t have to dodge. High stance also usually hits physically higher on the hit box so it’s good for breaking horns or other weak points, which will stagger enemies and sometimes even let you grapple them. Mid stance’s main thing is blocking, otherwise it just depends on if you like the move set of your weapon’s mid. Low is good for dodging. You use less ki to dodge and you can do it twice in a row while maintaining the quick dodge instead of slow rolling. Low also usually hits faster/more so it’s pretty good at applying statuses if you want to do that.

There’s a pretty good amount of depth in the game considering all the tools they give you in terms of both mechanics and abilities. A lot of the upgrades are pretty meaningful and give you new moves, so look at what they do first. Don’t worry about misallocating though because you get a pretty decent amount of skill reset items so you can redistribute both your skill points and level up points.

I've been trying to play X6 and my god it is fucking trash. The story makes no sense at all, once again more literally who characters pretending like they were part of the plot at some point. The stages are godawful, filled janky puzzles, platforming ranging from tedious to straight pointless that makes you wonder why it is even there, and bullet spam all over that just makes you go "fuck it" and just jump through the short stage as fast as possible relying on i-frames, you'll be missing some health but the bosses are a joke.

I had gone through 4 maverick stages and was kinda getting annoyed at how awful the game was but thought whatever, but then I tried blaze heatnix's stage and I just gave up. I thought the other stages were awful but this just takes the cake, there is no stage, it's just annoying as hell mini-boss after annoying as hell mini-boss. I've played every other megaman game and I never just stopped playing, but I dont think I can take this, it's horrible, complete and utter trash. How capcom went from X5 to this is beyond comprehension. This is the worst megaman game I have ever played.

I think of how good X1 and X2 were, even X3, X4, and X5 weren't so bad, and I wonder, is this even the same series anymore? How do you go from a great formula with great stages and great bosses to this?

What exactly do you like about X6? Going from X5 it is just completely retarded. X5 felt like a giant finale and end to the X series, Capcom could have lead into another spin-off (elf wars?) which would take place between the X and the Zero series and feature just X wielding his buster and Zero's saber. In X5 Zero uses his last bit of energy, his last buster shot, to kill Sigma, the guy they've been fighting for the last 5 games. But then in X6 it's just like thrown completely out the window… Zero? you repaired yourself??? what??????? like three quarters of your body was destroyed Zero, your brain was malfunctioning, how the heck did you repair yourself? That whole bit just really annoyed me, the moment where it seems like in X4-X5 capcom is trying to build up a little story for the X series they just throw it out the window. On top of the bad gameplay the whole thing just feels insulting.

I am now playing as the ottomans. They have a lot of potential for colonization and you can just steamroll africa if you build a bunch of naval bases and get the technologies researched beforehand, but I decided to stick to the sahara, the horn of africa and that coast underneath sokoto. I could have gotten a lot more, but honestly dominating 90% of the african landmass would be quite ridiculous in my opinion.

I don't think I can hit the coveted #1 ranking, despite having the strongest military in the world, because the industries are shite. The ottomans have very poor potential for industrialization compared to other GPs. Good for me though I will unlock the eletric gear/automobile/telephone factories and I can spam them as they are in extremely high demand and I have all the resources, maybe my industry will rise three or two ranks

I will get prestige techs as well and hopefully become the 1st most prestigious country in the world, then I will turn my attention to the potential Great war, I've been too afraid of sparking conflict in europe but now I want to go heads on. Humiliating austria or russia is a wet dream

I am playing Megaman ZX(2nd time through) and I don't know if I like it or not.

First of all, the in-game map is basically useless, it's open world, but there is no way you can tell where, for example "Area K" is with logic, you might logically think "Oh, area K is probably around area I", well you would be completely wrong, area K is next to area C. That is just one issue, but you can solve it by just looking at a map of the game on the internet.

The next issue I have is with the bosses, every boss has a weakspot (I think it does double damage) and if you hit that weakspot then you can basically win without even trying, but the downside is that when you get the biometal piece after it will be damaged based on how much you used the weakspot. The problem I have with this is that a lot of the bosses have a huge weakspot, like you have to actually try to not hit their weakspot. This makes it so you have to spend a lot of time meticulously chipping at a bosses legs or something just so you can get an undamaged biometal OR you can cheese every boss and then just grind the game's currency to repair the biometals later if you absolutely cannot beat the boss without the weakspot but grinding currency is tedious and slow.

Now the core issues I have is that the game doesn't really offer any challenge. Platforming is basically non-existent, the difficulty comes solely from screen crunch and reacting to enemies as soon as they appear on screen. The bosses are pretty simple and stray away from the formula of other megaman games, there are projectiles that are not meant to be dodged like you would do in another megaman game, instead you are just supposed to shoot at them until they go away.

The game feels good to play but everything else is just kind of stupid
