>Every bad guy is a rapist Spot on. Literally every edgy anime has this. Can't we have a cool and interesting villain just once? >In medieval Europe again Europe is a good location imo. I hate that too most novels are concentrating on either medieval or victorian age
>>59449 I just want a cunning psychopath who doesn't need to rape succubi in order to make a point about his superiority. Goons raping succubi is fine. But the evill cunning ruler shouldn't get physical.
>>59459 Well not exactly dark fantasy animes but isekais SAO for example, there is one rapist in every season. Seirei Gensouki - there is always some rich kid with a punchable face I think the Shield Hero also had some Akame ga Kill is full of edgy shit. There is also a manga. Which eventually will get an anime adaptation, it has similar tropes. It's about a mage who get reincarnated 400 years later and ofc it's an another edgy isekai.
>>59406 >>59460 Why are you such a liar? Like for your lie to work would require someone to be totally and completely ignorant of quite literally everything you just spoke of. It's not just a lie, but a really blatant unbelievable even to someone who didn't know better lie.
Why? For attention? To pick a fight? To insure someone replies to you?
Knock whatever this fool act is off and find something better to do then lie on the internet to strangers about dumb shit that doesn't even matter.
>>59462 Which of my anime mentions made you so upset? Even though you are right on this list no anime is dark fantasy but most of todays anime since the last decade pulls up this trope. >Douchy aristocrat hates the underdog protag >he wants to make his life miserable but fails >we find out he has sexslaves or even a dungeon and kidnaps the protags female friend >he's trying to rape her but protag comes to the rescue and saves the day.
>>59463 > but most of todays anime since the last decade pulls up this trope. No they don't you liar. You are describing a single anime and acting like all/most (notice the goal post shift) anime's are like the single anime you are exaggerating about. Then the other anime you flat out lied about.
You are lying your ass off and exaggerating to the extreme.
>>59464 Fuck knows if shield hero has rapists in it. I don't remember of what happened Raphtalia's friend. Was it just torture or even raping? >>59465 People like to watch stupid isekais. And most isekai has this dumb storytelling. To make the scrawny protag boy more heroic. >Then the other anime you flat out lied about. As far as I remember every anime I mentioned had some fucked up shit in it. Hey I gave you an explanation, can you do the same for me or you just trying to insult me? P.S.: I found the name of the manga I was talking about. The Unsuccessful Yet Academically Unparalleled Sage ~A Cheating S-Rank Sorcerer’s Post-Rebirth Adventurer Log~ Surprise surprise, last chapter also had this bs
I've been working on a Silmarillion fic. It's 67 pages so far, but it's just the prequel and not even half finished. I have a couple other Silmarillion fics that are getting up there in page count, but they don't flow as easily as my main focus. I've never posted fanfiction anywhere, using it as a braindead way to write every day to practice. I force myself to write at least 2 pages of my original stories if I write more than 5 pages of fanfic.
It doesn't have to be something you ever show anybody or even anything good. Just think of the kind of things you like in fiction, then put your own spin on it. Be the media you want to see in the world. It can even just be venting, or taking shitty writing and making it flow better. For fanfiction I like to write 'What-Ifs, if that makes sense.

>>59599 Poorly executed racism metaphor. Like correlating racism in a D&D world where good and evil are clearly established and charted, with monster races adhering to a particular aligment, and racism in the real world where good and evil is less clear, perspective pending and individuals of the same race might have wildy different world views depending on their upbringing.
For example, you can easily point in the rulebook why killing orc children is a good, lawful act. They're chaotic evil because orcs as a race adhere to that alignemt. There's no nurture versus nature debate here, they're evil, simple as that. You can't however do the same thing in the real world with children of any ethnicity.
A poorly executed metaphor then is when the writer tries to correlate situations involving race while ignoring or forgetting those fundamental differences between the real world and the fantasy one.
I've thought about writing fiction in the "Ayn Rand style" essentially a prose lecture of philosophical views clumsily put into a mouth of a character. And using fanfic characters from popular properties instead of inventing generic ones of my own, seems like a fast easy road to a built in audience.
So I tried it out, but only got meh results and gave up.
As you can tell, I wasn't sincerely passionate about fanfic or anything
>>59640 Well modeling yourself after good writers is daunting. The very fact that she sucked but still had a huge audience, makes her a more realistic goal to aim towards. Especially for writers more used to prose nonfiction
>>59644 I realize this is the fanfiction thread but the moon is just over a lightsecond away while the nearest star outside our solar system is over four lightyears away, so don't hold your metaphorical breath.
>>59648 But I mean, theoretically, if you chose a random direction in space, probabilistically speaking you wouldn't even land amongst the stars, right? It would just be nothingness.
I wrote this a month ago. I kinda just kept writing, there was no real plan. There's not even dialogue yet, I was partly/mostly writing this as a film script concept. Let me know if I should keep writing.
On a bright mid-morning Agon and Merat meet on a field a few miles from their fathers fortress alongside the road. The boys had spent a month riding around their fathers fief and beyond, gathering fighting men for the battle to come.
Agon, just turning 18, and Merat only a year older. These brothers have been competing against each other since they could walk. And because their father is getting on in age they've decided now is the time to firmly cement who of the two will inherit their fathers titles and holdings, by defeat or death. 30 acres of land and an old fortress had ended a brotherhood.
The young mens' father, Agim, was among many warring kings in a land they dubbed Drejt. A seemingly never-ending flat green plains spacing out large to medium sized groves of trees. Agim fought for his 50 acres, as his father did, and his fathers father did, and so on. Proud and brave, as was the culture; but unlike others Agim was deceptively cunning and not at all a fool.
A great force from the south calling themselves the Ika Khanate rode in with 9,000 men and all but set Drejt ablaze. Men with bronzed skin; short, but as wide as two men. Wielding longaxes on horseback their numbers and brutality smashed through any force of Drejtans that dared to meet them in the field. The Drejtans quickly realized their best line of defense was to garrison all their men in their castles and utilize their archers on the horselords until they decide to lay siege to them. The Ika as predicted did grow tired of waiting and began to besiege the Drejtan castles the best they could. Uncoordinated and angered by the Drejtans strategy, the Ika lost far more men than they had planned; but ultimately took enough castles that many Drejtans began to surrender or agree to terms for the lives of themselves, their families, residents, and villagers.
By two months Agim was one of very few holdouts. With only 400 men Agim and his army had reportedly personally slain double their garrison. Though the days grew longer, and the supply of food dwindled, Agim did not holdout for pride. As it was said Agim was most cunning, and through letters of reports he had gathered that the Ika horselords had slain some Drejtan kings who happened to surrender outright, but gave certain Drejtan kings a title and ownership of some of their land for their bravery and fighting prowess. Agim had fought so hard and for so long that the horselords would grant him the title of Ilkhan of Drejt, ownership of one of his castles, and 30 acres of his own land were he to swear allegiance and pay taxes to the Ika Khanate. Agim knowing that he would not receive a better offer if he were to deny this one regrettably accepted choosing to keep Gurforte as his castle.
Which is why you use a the new deluxe cognitive warp drive on your ship. It is able to cover vast distances in a straight line by channeling the imaginative cognitive activity of the pilot. With it running a full steam with a good pilot it would only take a few minutes to cover lightyears of distance.
>>59657 That sounds swell, but one of my techs accidentally refueled the cWarp with fuel that had Nihilistic additives. We'd be lucky to move a few inches within the next 10 or 15 eons.
