Another. The second half and last few episodes in particular are shitty and the show really falls apart but it was so fucking funny. I had to pause when that kid with the umbrella got fucking struck down by lightning because I was laughing so hard. When I discovered all the pie edits afterwards it was even funnier.
Warau Salesman (the original series, not the new one). It's extremely formulaic and repetitive but I'm a sucker for all those short episodes of people getting fucked over psychologically. Especially because a lot of them don't even deserve it. Some of the specials were cruel as fuck, like in one where some crab thinks he's going to get with a succubus on a skiing trip because he gets special skiing powers from Moguro, but it turns out all of them, including his nerd friends, were pranking him, so he ends up running away crying and skiis off a cliff.
Kimagure Orange Road. Wouldn't call it shitty but it's way too drawn out for what it is. However I love the aesthetics and music, and Madoka was such a cool and sexy character, probably the closest I'll ever have to a waifu (besides Kazusa from WA2 and Mitsuki from Kimi ga Nozomu). First movie was top notch, too, and made watching all those episodes worth it.
>>32451 There are shows were you can see and understand the flaws of the show, and even have a great deal of things about the show you dislike or would normally dislike, but still like the show overall or in part.
For example I feel that way about bo-bo-bobo bo-bobo. It is pants on the head retarded, and a lot of gags/jokes are based around shitty puns that don't translate at all, but the hyper silly unrestrained creativity and absurdist humor does keep me entertained and I even get a laugh every once in a while. I wouldn't recommend the show, but I didn't feel like I wasted my time watching it.
X the movie also is like that for me. The story is butchered to they point of nonsensicalness and the writing is completely fucked, but it does a lot of cool and visually interesting things and has a lot of cool scenes so I still like it even if the story is dog shit.
>>32451 Guilty pleasure is just euphemism for stuff you like but wouldn't really recommend for whatever reason, you know is an acquired taste but it clicked for you somehow.
I get what you say but it is not really irony bs, is a pretty common thing really
Schools Days, although I don't personally think it was badly-written, it's just that I seem to be one of the few people online who doesn't think it was garbage. I actually thought it was well-written if you look at it more as a sort of thriller or dark drama show.
zero no tsukaima tat one where hes forced to choose between two choices. that one with the flags. theres like 12 succubi in the harem and at the end they find out theyre in the matrix or something
>>32480 i think its pretty good writing too. makoto's comeuppance is foreshadowed multiple times in the classroom scenes by the teachers. it's supposed to be a tragedy
90% of the anime I watched i exploitation stuff, I think people who watch le srs bzniz shit anime and think theyre watching some sort of art are utter losers.
I like what I like, I always have, I am without guilty pleasures because I do things for me and nobody else.
Most anime is utter junk, for absolute utter subhumans, and like 80% of it is literally meant for little kids.
I have never watched any «highschool bullshit» anime since i left highschool and realized I wasnt a hot young twink anymore and it was humilating to watch little kids and teens go on adventures and stuff.
The way I see it, I am too smart and too good for anime, as compared to the hordes of mouthbreathing, nintendo playing, fedora tipping, computer programming crab losers who watch many many junk anime and treat it like it is some sort of art to be appreciated.
I think the first anime I ever watched was Enzai, exploitation was really the only reason I started watching anime now that I think about it.
Outside of anime, you would never be able to see something like Boku No Pico or Elfen Lied- anywhere, period, that is animes strong point.
People who watch moeshit garbage and highschool faggotry, normies love that shit nowadays just like they loved Big Bang Theory and Star Wars and Comic Books. They need to commit suicide and end their miserable lives.
>>32491 I dont watch much anime, at least not the 1 series a month I did in highschool, I came to the conclusion in highschool that it did not matter how much anime I watched or what I saw, it made no difference and eventually I stopped enjoying anime and giving existential value to what I had seen or planned to see when it was in fact all worthless.
there are so many subhuma crabs who will literally watch a series every week no matter how crappy it is just to say they did it because they lack the power of introspection, they will gladly waste their pathetic worthless lives without giving the slightest though to their situation.
it is what it is. anime is junk as an artform when it comes to slice of life junk and romcoms, its saving grace is the ability for it to express extreme pornography and violence in was grindhouse films from the 70s and 80s could only dream of.
and to be honest all of the quentin tarantino-esque over-the-top stuff like Black Lagoon or JOJO is worth watching
Highschool DXD is my guilty pleasure. I watched every season of it. I kind of enjoyed it but a friend of mine recommended good anime to me after I've told him.
>>32742 Oh wow, I nearly forgot about that one. All fluff with no substance, but at least the fluff was comfy and nice to look at as all semblance of a coherent story fell apart.
guilty pleasure is a meme phrase. But if I had to choose the worst anime which I hold in the highest regard its Yowamushi Pedal The characters aren't very deep, the racing animation is just janky CG, and the MC has super plot armor. But damn it still gets me hype. Its just a stupid superpower sports show like Kuroko no Basuke except that show did characters and animation way better.
>>32765 A better show about the same sport is Overdrive. God it got me hype about cycling, and the ending is super far from what I expected. That said I found the manga to be super boring.
I guess could post just almost every battle shonen I have watched here. I really enjoy battle shonen even if they are mediocre. I guess I just like to live vicariously through stories that are all about forging friendships and giving it your all. If I were to choose one to post here I guess it would be Nanatsu no Taizai. It doesn't really have anything going for it aside from maybe the medieval setting, it uses every cliche in the book, nobody actually stays dead, characters are constantly losing their memories and the second season introduces powerlevels, which makes a lot of dialogue be "woah he has a powerlevel of 1500, who can this character whose powerlevel is merely 1000 win". Yet I still enjoy it because of "hype" moments like pic related and the feelings of comraderie among the characters.
>>32780 the problem with weebs is that they don't actually know what good writing is so they look for it in battle shounens when those historically have never had good writing and are all about the execution. the formula for battle shounen is specifically to make the emotions swell at precise moments, and battle shounen is really good at that, but entry-level shounen jump grunts equate great execution with "good writing" because they also think things like the dark knight is the height of cinema or harry potter is great literature.
>>32441 I guess it really was poorly written at certain parts, but I always looked at it as necessarily sacrificing what would be realistic to further build an allegory.
>>33943 haven't. I made that thread about documenting my experince watching Loveless expecting hot shotacon action but I never watched more than the first episode. I watched 2 or 3 episodes of Trigun and tried watching the second season of Kaiji but I cannot be fucked to have my list of unintentionally dropped anime grow larger and larger.
>>33945 You should probably give up, do something that is "good enough" for you and leave the animu to those who actually enjoy it, that post up there kind of smells of jealousy actually.
>>33949 >I haven't enjoyed watching anime or playing games in years >was digging through the catolog looking for that loveless thread i made and saw this >>23424 which was another thread I had made and noticed it was from 2017 >people don't believe me when I say I have literally browsed this femcel LARP board since literally the very first day the old wizardchan was opened but I rarely come here now because some loser will call me a crab or some bullshit and insist I am some newfag or some modcliquer will gangstalk me
Seems like you were rather bored already back then and yet, you seem unable to really drop this? Why do you reckon this is, wiz-kun? Is there mayhap a glimpse of hope there somewhere deep inside you that you could rediscover the original joy these things brought you?
Right, I'll acknowledge your oldfagness if it means something for you, congratulations on sticking around all this time, well done, honto ni
>>32457 >Kimagure Orange Road There's a ton of shows from that era with the same sort of pacing, back then it wasn't really a problem at all but in light of modern day shows there's a huge contrast.
>>32466 I honestly don't understand what you all have against DB. It was great. A boy goes on an adventure, meets some gadget succubus, a thief, a pig and a plushie and they team up to find the magical spheres that will fulfill their dreams. Until some dipshit wastes the wish on panties. It was great. Even the late arcs with the devil thing and tien shan feel okay. They were powercreep phenomenons but they did not have aliens travelling the space and pulverizing entire planets in minutes.
In Dragonball Z I feel like Toriyama lost interest in this entire thing but he kept on drawing this crap just to fulfill Shueisha. It feels like he lost his passion for the series and just went on to continue the story with another arc of the most run off the mill power creep crap he could come up with just to keep Shueisha satisfied for another few weeks.
>>34326 DB is more related to his previous, more silly and light hearted series Dr. Slump, which is not for everyone I guess. I also prefer it over DBZ, though I don't agree there were any loss of passion for Z as you put it. They're both decent for what they are imo.
>>34327 DBZ feels like a completely different show than DB, which as you said was a more consistent Dr. Slump. No wonder it inspired many mangaka that came after, like the first chapters of one piece even looked very DBish.
While I found DBZ cool, Goku finally became an adult and the action got more, it became too serious and obvious in time, the story could have been told in about half the episodes (which Kai kind of did) while almost every episode of DB was filled with fun adventures.
A few years ago I rewatched both and I still prefer DB, even after all that time it's still an amazing story
>>34326 I think it's just that people are reminded of all the problems and issues with DBZ in particular, that and it's a huge worldwide and well known series and the face of shounen for years, that people view it as normie and not something a "real hardcore" anime viewer would associate with. I personally regret missing out on it the first time. It's a series essential to the history of the medium but so long, and both the manga and the anime have their pros and cons separate to each other.
Gleipnir has kinda crap writing in the first episode but makes up for it with good characters, good soundtrack, and good action. Claire is also the perfect waifu
I don't know about poorly written, but knights of sidonia is my guilty pleasure anime because it's a netflix original and that Izana Shinatose is best succubus.
