How do you feel about trolls, effortposters, ironic shitposters, schizoposters, and faithless actors online? Are you one of them?
Do you think it is a revelation of inner sadistic desires to take pleasure in frustrating or insulting others online? Or is it just "play" with no real consequences?
I used to be mean online e.g. saying racist garbage, insulting people, and spreading misogyny. But I've felt much different recently and I try to be polite and helpful online. I do believe that being sadistic online is an expression of poor character.
People have called me mean, but for me it's just harmless bantz. When I insult someone, I'm always trying to think of a witty or interesting way to do it, partly to entertain myself, partly to entertain others. I don't see the point in calling people niggers and slurs, it's just pure rage and no one's going to chuckle or have a good time reading that. In short, it's just lazy and boring.
As for being evil, there are some genuinely malicious people online and they enjoy the pain of others. Like telling suicidal people to kill themselves, dehumanizing others and genuinely wanting to see people suffer. These individuals are rare and very mean spirited. Whole different vibe than just "roasting" someone.
>How do you feel about trolls, effortposters, ironic shitposters, schizoposters, and faithless actors online? Are you one of them? Used to be i guess, now im chill >Do you think it is a revelation of inner sadistic desires to take pleasure in frustrating or insulting others online? Or is it just "play" with no real consequences? Yeah, sometimes just for lulz
I do believe that being sadistic online is an expression of poor character. Sometimes is lack of attention lol
I also think that people who insult others online while trying to argue are mentally weak, insecure or otherwise. But I do shitpost and mock people from time to time. It's just stupid comments thrown in the air but when someone gets emotional by one of those it makes me giggle.
>>206311 So you consider yourself mentally weak, insecure or otherwise or you managed to find a loophole in there for yourself between "trying to argue" and "it's just"?
usually externally validated people who try to provoke interactions to feel less lonely or bots trying to ruin a place as part of cyber warfare.
for the dummies: you think the psychopath millionaires and billionaires who brainstorm on what weapons to build to most effectively kill people just don't build armies of bots to psychologically hurt people to the best of their abilities? of course they do. they track you as best as they can and find out your weakness so they can best hurt your feelings every time you criticize something that is holy to them.
>>206313 I am not an example of mental fortitude. Generally I don't insult to try to get my argument to prevail, I think those who do are not helping their argument, they reveal their mental weakness by doing so. More than mocking people, I like to throw nonsense replies mocking their ideas. I do this for fun and not necessarily to put myself above others. But I do realize I can't have my cake and eat it too. I have noticed myself becoming jaded and somewhat close-minded because I can't really be defending my point of view against the tide of differing opinions. I am a brainlet and I suck at arguing, so I am probably as mentally weak as those I denounce, even if I choose not to act specifically as the ones I dislike.
>>206298 >saying racist garbage, insulting people, and spreading misogyny oh no. is this just another cuck infested reddit 2.0 like blueboards on 4chan
I don't need to shit post. My normal self gets people seething. I'm not even code talking about the left right American politics shit. The more the internet has shifted towards normal public the farther apart I've gradually drifted from the ideological overlap with the userbases.
>>206338 Abuse of such limitations is more likely and severe than supposed damage by foolish utterances and a partially dishonest society unable to cope with that as what it is: nonsense.
Am I a pussy for getting away from those places that display that kind of level of toxicity often? Like if in site A just about any post I make is met with toxicity, and in site B it happens just very ocassionally, am I being "too sensitive"?
i also used to be mean online and occasionaly will spam crazy stuff once ina while if im just feeling in a mood.
but now i try to be geniune online as spreading hate doesn't make me feel good inside. i guess it depends on the person. if theyre incredibly evil maybe they like to spread hate but the average person doesn't.
>>206417 When you allow anything and everything to go people with half a brain won’t participate because of tards who ruin the dialog id rather have that than free speech
I have been in the roll of all of them except for faithless actor, not sure what that's suppost to mean. Now I'm just trying to be an effortposter most of the time.
Depends on the forum. If it's a serious discussion I would like to do lots of illegal things to them, otherwise if it's a shitposting forum then who cares?
>>206298 Only cowards are evil online. I should know, I was one of those faggots trolling and being racists for no reason, but in the real world I was a huge pussy and everyone bullied me.
It seems they've taken over admin positions on almost any site I've ever used, and almost any slightly successful site I've made. Owning web property or the sake of owning web property something isn't something most people want to do. But evil people do it seems, and they're good at it. There really needs to be an alternative or section 230 reform or something. Just feels like big playground for sociopaths nowadays
>>206304 >dehumanizing others Most of time, people dehumanize themselves without anybody help. pointing out inhuman and subhuman behavior is not dehumanization.
>>206298 The people who do it for the sake of entertaining other people are saints. The "people" who just spam slurs are retarded and don't understand comedy and just enjoy the rush of cheap emotional power.
>>206298 Overall I try to be a good poster. Trolling is kind of sad when it's coming from a place where the guy is clearly miserable and fucking hates the people he's posting with but is so stuck he can't let go and just go post somewhere that doesn't make him angry. I've done that once or twice too. But not all trolling is a sadistic attempt to make everybody miserable. Trolling can just be shitposting and fucking around for fun. There's nothing wrong with being an asshole for amusement from time to time.
Also, some toxicity is really necessary to maintain a community that isn't total cancer. Some people can be prodded into realizing they're being retarded but others genuinely do just need to be aggressively and repeatedly told to fuck off and die.
>>206298 Yet here you are, where mods freely allow the troon cryptoscammer crabish kiwifarmlings deride whatever little quality this site may have by any ways possible. That, without adding that this is a place designed to make you fall into gluttony, alcoholism, suicide, whiny circlejerking, denial of self sexuality while becoming a coomer with 2D pr0n (you think they do not have that thing 3D succubi have, yet they are also feminine and can be even worst, so it's just a deceit)
I'm starting to get really tired of the "mass insanity" trend. It's just tiresome to talk to people who are saying completely crazy shit and then they demand to be treated as if they are thinking rational actors instead of crazy people like they obviously are. They feel safety in numbers so they can get quite deranged and still act superior to everyone else. I wish this weren't happening. I don't like the implications of what is possible when large groups of people become insane.
