I'm too poor to get a bigger apartment or home and nice furniture, so I'm stuck in a very small apartment that only has a tiny room and a bathroom.

Is anyone else getting depressed by their lame surroundings?
Before anyone tells me to get a job, I already work minimum wage.

Yes.

>he has an apartment
>he is able to work
consider yourself lucky

Do you really need more? I guess it's "lame" if you want to impress chicks that come over. All you're missing is a desk and comfy chair. You could probably save up for that if you don't buy toys like that katana that just clutter up the space.

I firmly believe one does not need more than the picture shows. When one masters their mind, happiness follows. Be it through intellect, wisdom, or cope. At the end you can live in a gated mansion in the Bahamas and be miserable or live in picrel and be perfectly content with life.

I don't see a depressing surrounding in picrel. I see plenty of hobbies in one clean corner along with an okay TV, a computer case for entertainment, and sugary treats. From the view of the photo the room seems much larger than it is, so you could maybe use the space to work out, and have a goal to strive for. A light wizard can study levitation far easier than a heavy one.

Eat at a table, listening to music or with your family. Try to paint the wall a nicer color, get a bed to put the mattress on, and a desk to put your PC on, where it can't be seen from the bed.

Do not eat in bed, nor use the PC in it, always eat at a table and try to cook for yourself.

Colors make a gigantic difference. I smoothed and sanded my small bedroom, painted it with a quality paint in a rich deep blue shade with 3 layers, and I'm so much happier now than when they were dirty white with stains.

And it cost less than a hundred bucks in total. No need for furniture or expensive trinkets.

Get yourself a desk and a decent chair. Every wizard needs to have his enchanting table.

Could it rather be due to having no pleasant vegetated extensions around to wander, which contributes to you focusing at your cozy room?

Some places don't even have trees. Just endless concrete when you step out.

Yeah, I recently bought a small apartment in bad neighborhood because it has great transport and is really close to city center. The thing is the neighborhood is depressing as fuck. Industrial sites, damaged tenement houses begging for repair, drunkards on bus stops and stuff like that. What makes matter worse is that apartment sucks, it's loud as fuck and I cannot sleep at night. View from my windows are some old buildings and an abandoned warehouse. All in all I spend most of my time at my parents house and I feel almost physically ill while coming back to my apartment.

Whenever I am in better neighborhoods I think to myself how better it would be to live there. Normal blocks, a lot of greenery, normal people with families. I can't wait to sell this retarded apartment.

Anyway OP, is there any chance for you to ditch this place? If you are working for minimum wage why not pick up some simple work in some small scenic town? Or emigrate to a wealthier country? Would it be possible for you? Personally I would like to ditch big city, get away from all this.

Your room is clean and you have your own apartment. Where is the problem? I wish I had my own apartment because the lack of privacy is driving me insane.
You have everything you need, so consider yourself lucky.
