 No.67347

Thread to discuss about:
Serial killers
Mass shooters
Any other kind of murderers
etc…
I made this thread because the other one currently online is exclusively about serial killers.
https://murderpedia.org/ (good website but stopped being updapted after 2017)

Why does Columbine 1999 specifically still capture the American imagination so much. It was almost 25 years go. A lot has happened since then and there have been FAR more deadly mass shootings since.

Why is Columbine the one that keeps getting referenced?
Is it just that is came during the height of the 90s era American culture wars?
Is it that Americans have a unique relationship to ‘high school’ and the role that plays in the American national psyche?
A lot of later killers were obsessed with Columbine for some reason.

Nostalgia, notoriety and respect. They were the trailblazers, they had an aesthetic and taste emblematic to the decade, they were fairly handsome, their outfits (they planned the shooting with image in mind), the way the news painting it glorified them (they were not America's first school shooters), the moralist outcry from Evangelicals that prodded a response from edgy teens to venerate Dylan and Eric, it was an event in a decade that was balancing with cynicism and distrust towards society against the wholesome family values optimism and one world peace love movement that sprung up after the Cold War (values of Gen X in their prime v. Boomers in their middle age) and the legend of Columbine getting perpetuated by succeeding generations.

Because edgy, drugged-up, self-cutting succubi with daddy issues drip gruel at Dylan And Eric Awesome Show Great Job.

>respect
>handsome
>moralist evangelicals butthurt
This post as made by one of those aforementioned succubi.

The reason The Columbine High massacre is still given attention today is because of the abhorrent police response. It's the same reason the Miami Dade shooting is still being talked about.

>American imagination
The reach of their act did not only affect USA. So far, I've read about mass shootings inspired by columbine in countries like Brazil, Russia and Germany.

If they were flat-nosed manlets with glasses no one would give a shit about them because they'd be ugly.

No it isn't.
There have always and will always be male into true crime, as it's a interesting subject with lots of different things to get interested in.

They weren't handsome, you probably think they're so because they dressed with a certain "style" and their individual pictures in their school yearbook were well taken but in reality, Dylan was a particularly ugly faced lanklet and Eric was a manlet with a deformity on the chest.
That, with their way of dressing and their rebellious attitude, are probably the main factors that caused them to be bullied.
>>67356
>your use of 'heckin' also does not help
It's obviously ironic, autistbro.

>be Iwasaki Ryuichi
>be an hikikomori wizard locked into his room for 20+ years without any internet connection or electronic devices
>end up committing an "extended suicide"
His aunt should have offered him a computer so he could relate with his kind instead of pressuring him into a society he didn't want to live.

The story doesn't end there, it got even more crazy:
>Several days after the incident, former MAFF Vice Minister Hideaki Kumazawa killed his hikikomori son, Eiichiro, fearing that he would commit similar crimes to those of which Iwasaki committed, as he had been violent towards his family members as well as being described as reclusive.
>Kumazawa would be sentenced to 6 years in prison in 2021.

Never heard this case before since it's out of India
World’s Youngest Serial Killer - 8 Year Old Amarjeet Sada

 No.67533

I remember finding this case years ago on Murderpedia since juvenile serial killers are rare occurrences. The parents who covered up the murders and the lack of police involvement are both strong factors in this one.

 No.67541

>>67533
Yeah, if they reported the first one like any actual sensible parent then the is no doubt that the other two wouldn't have happened. They bear a good chunk of blame as well imo. Just giving him a spanking clearly wasn't enough.

She was a NEET against her will. Her mom who had Munchausen syndrome by proxy should have gone to therapy instead of ruining her daughter's life. Now she ded but I doubt she'd survived longer with her morbid obesity.

>Editor Atsusuke Minowa also commented on Ryuichi Iwasaki's case, "People who kill people because they don't mind dying (themselves) are invincible like terrorists because they cannot be suppressed by punishment. If society increases the number of such people, incidents like the Kawasaki murders will not disappear. It is a general sentiment that people should die alone, but the world (society) is finished if we say that. As the gap between the two groups widens, saying, 'You are scum and should die,' is nothing more than increasing the number of invincible people," he warned.
