Any animes similar to welcome to the NHK?
It doesn't have to revolve around being a hikikomori, but i liked the theme of a succubus wanting to save a boy

Can't think of any.
Genshiken?

Not an anime but the manga Himizu has something like that, it's much darker and more hopeless than NHK though

This advice pertains to Firefox on old Thinkpads, but it might work for you too. Use enhanced-h264ify or Piped Redirects.

Genshiken is 10/10 manga/ani yet it declines as it progress. The first part with original crew is the best and it get worser as the Fu-joshi takes over the story. It's still good, but at that point I only read it for Madarame.

Yet, genshinken focus more of otaku culture rather than "succubus saves boy"

Denki-gai_no_Honya-san is another otaku anime i like. But it's not dark at all. 9/10

Kuragehime - Fu-joshi shit, it was decent. 6-7/10

WataMote: can't remember opinon about it, ok i guess

for real, try Yojouhan Shinwa Taikei 10/10
Might not be what you looking for but there's nothing as nhk in ani world. maybe manga idk

Kaiba 10/10

Not guy you responded to but thanks for the recommendation, delved down the rabbit hole of works by Furuya, Minoru. All the characters particularly in Himizu and Wanitokagegisu are relatable in some form, especially saitou in the latter. Reccomend himizu and wanitokagegisu if you're suffering with depression/loneliness. Unsure why the low ratings for these works reminds me of other hidden-ish gems like homunculus.

Ano Hi Mita Hana is like that. If I'm not mistaken the main character is a shut-in too.

I read Saltiness/Saruchinesu a couple of months ago. I probably read all of Furuya Minoru's works. At least all translated to english.
