Touhou Thread II - 2018 ed.Talk about Touhou here. I think the OP or something. It's been three months. We've all talked about our favorite characters, so what's your favorite part of the fandom? Do you like the setting the most, the characters the most, the lore the most, the music the most, or, like me, do you just idealize the series like I do?
Anime/Manga Draw ThreadI know there's a draw thread on /hob/ for posting any drawing you want, but I thought we might want to have a draw thread here specifically for anime requests. Post your requests and/or anime-style drawings. I'm a drawfig myself so at least one of your requests will be fulfilled.
Anime scenesShare scenes from anime you like, found interesting, or that caught your attention.

Waifu Thread 2022In this thread we say we love our waifus.
Different Dimension MeI do not know if others already commented on it, but this page is quite simple and more than changing photos to "anime" style is a redesign. It's okay to hang out though.
The consequences of anime as a whole becoming mainstream.I feel like there needs to be a thread made about this. I know this has been talked about many times since 2016 but even then I think this topic is still very neglected because the consequences aren't noticeable on the entirety of Anime yet. There's just something really aggravating about low-status men loosing one of the few hobbies that they could actually enjoy to the very same normalfags and succubi who constantly treat us like dogshit 24/7 and make our daily lives a living hell. We all know the consequences that come with any hobby becoming popular among normgroid NPCs, they start pushing their shitty status-quo bs on it. I'm honestly convinced that by the end of this decade Anime will never have that same feeling as it always did, it'll just become another soulless mainstream form of entertainment to appeal to normalfags. Start expecting chad and his succubi gf to start bragging about going to watch an anime to their NPC social sphere like they do with their shitty MCU movies along with whores cosplaying as your waifu to sell her nudes on the internet to some orbiters (which is already happening to a certain extent). Some oldfags may argue that Anime declined long time ago, and while that's debatable I will say that Anime still retains a very unique feeling to it that is void in the majority of other watchable entertainment and low-status men are the ones that keep and preserve it that way. Mark my words, Anime will be completely unrecognizable around by the end of this decade. Maybe someone can articulate this better than I can but that's the best way I can put it.
New to animeI've never been into anime and I don't know much about it. However, I decided to check out One Punch Man and I'm enjoying it a fair bit. I've never been able to stick to hobbies or find any passion or purpose in life. Is anime a worthwhile thing to get into? I'm beginning to see why so many people love it. The problem is, it just seems so dense. So much to learn, so many forums, so many niches. It's a little intimidating for a newcomer. Where do I begin? Should I learn Japanese? I've never been able to actually succeed at something like that, but maybe getting into anime would give me a reason too. Will anime improve my life and make me a better person? Will it make the bad things in life, like wageslaving and disease, more bearable?
Japanese anime movies pre-2000Hey everyone, i've recently got into a watching loop of pre-2000s anime movies. There's of course the well known Ghost in the Shell, or Akira for instance but there's plenty of them that are actually quite good. I know a lot of wiz here are into animes in general, so what would you suggest? I'm espescially looking for hidden pearls.
KissAnime and KissMangna shut down foreverThe websites were closed forever, the owners said.
EvangelionOkay, I just finished the the series.
Kids showsI've found myself watching, and this thread is as much of a confession as much as anything, kids shows. It started off due to the threads we've had about Cardcaptor Sakura and Doremy, but then I realized after watching them that I was feeling…oddly good and optimistic about the world in general. It's weird, because on the one hand I hate watching this stuff because, well, it's so fucking stupid and vapid, but on the other hand I love watching it because it's so goddam relaxing and healing to the soul. I find myself questioning whether this entertainment is purposefully made this way, to emotionally manipulate individuals past a certain age into a state of depression.
Why is this considered "anime" ?Why is Tower of God considered an anime when it is adapted from a manhwa? If it is solely because a Japanese studio did it then why isn't the same logic applied to Cannon Busters? So basically anyone with money can just pay a studio to adapt their source material and it will be "anime"? Seems like a bad precedent we are setting. How does Japan feel about this?
how do I chat with japanese hikkis2chan? I dont speak japanese at all,0 knowledge. But I want to ask a couple of (sociology-related)questions to a rather large group of japanese-born hikkis and neets, etc.
/jp/ - Japanese CultureWould this board be better if anime discussion wasn't allowed? I like anime, but this board's so slow that having any actual discussion outside of the anime review thread or the cute anime character threads, is basically pointless. The world of imageboards needs a place for niche otaku discussion, but alas, no site caters to such interest. What with the modern day youth on this site, there'd probably just be a bunch of Vtuber threads to take all the anime discussion's place. What does /jp/ - Japan/Anime, think?
Hard To Find Japanese CinemaThere is a vast sea of Japanese films out there, and I can imagine most of /jp/ has only scratched the surface. What are the qualifications for a "hard to find Japanese film" you ask?
/dep/ animeMaybe this belongs more on /hob/ and if the mods agree I would hold no ill will for them for moving or deleting it but I recently got around to watching Serial Experiments Lain and wanted to find some other wizzards with good reccomendations for /dep/ anime. The ones of course given are succubi last tour and Lain. I would personally not count Watamote as it seems quite shallow and everything turns out fine in the end and whatnot. So what are some other anime, manga or light novels dealing with actual depression or schizophrenia and not in the mainstream boohoo am so sad way.

Gatekeeping AnimeWhat should be the best measures that we should take to gatekeep anime has hard as it get?
Anime recommendationsI'm looking for a new animu to watch, I've listed some of the stuff I highly rated, maybe there will be something others may be interested in listed below, but I would greatly appreciate any recommendations based on what you think I might love.
Aesthetically Pleasing Anime Images (non-lewd)Let's have a thread to post aesthetically pleasing anime-style art. We can post nice character designs, landscapes, cute couples (hetero or otherwise), franchise promo art, wallpapers, etc…
Hentai GamesRecently I have been doing nothing but masturbating to doujins and hentai mangas. But now I think its the time to finally upgrade to hentai games! I heard koikatsu party was good, so im going to play it.
Low power levelHave you noted that there are more and more people with low power level in anime community than ever? I mean, even here almost every recent thread is filled with people who don't know what they're talking about, let alone can give some deep insight in any matter.
Underrated animePlease recommend me good underrated anime. I miss the years past where i would binge on anime. I really want to find those hidden gems again. The ones that aren't too popular to have an ugly mainstream appeal, but also not too unknown by being too shitty. I really like realistic anime with good characters, no magic shit please.
Anime you think you're missing out onThis thread is for discussion of anime you think you're missing out on. Recently, I've been trying to get into this new Madhouse original called "Sonny Boy". I saw some familiar staff and thought the show looked cool. When I got into it, the show already ran five or six episodes in. Now it's almost finished airing. I thought the first episode was cool, and I liked the second episode as well, but not as much as the first one. By the third episode I just wanted to smash my head against the wall. The characters all have the same snarky, lifeless, pseudo intellectual attitude. They all act like typical sheltered Tokyo brats. Another thing that irks me is the amount of uncreative still scenes there are. It makes the episodes drag for so long, and it's like their only purpose is to save money for a classic "super cool key animator moment" that lasts 10 seconds or less. Normally I know when to stop, but judging by the discussion of the show I've seen online, it looks like the show gets better as it goes on. So I either suffer through more episodes with no pay off, or I agonize through a bunch of schlock just for that one "golden" episode. I regret not watching Sonny Boy weekly. Anime is so 'off' these days, that I can't imagine keeping up with shows without having to wait a week in between.
Manga threadMy brain is too fucked to pull two intelligible sentences together, so pardon me if I don't make any sense.
AnimeGate Coming Soon?>Celebrities and reality stars have been tweeting about anime
Most disappointing animeWhat was the most disappointing anime you have ever watched? For me personally, it was Sailor Moon Crystal. I'm a big Sailor Moon fan and I was pumped for the new series to come out, even though it kept getting delayed I didn't care, I just wanted to feel the magic I felt watching the series for the first time again. But when the show aired in the summer of 2014 i was met with a show with extremely sloppy animation, poor writing and really just an underwhelming vibe to it. It was just such a gut punch to see my favorite show get treated with such a mishandled and mediocre retelling.
old school animeLately, I have been enjoying some anime from the 70s and 80s, like Star Musketeer Bismarck, Beast King Golion, Mazinger Z, Uuchu Senkan Yamato and so on. I'm really liking the Super Robot genre as well as the "real robot" mecha genre started by Gundam and Macross.
