Yes, it is, is the story about the succubus raised by a dragon.

Sometimes, out of curiosity or something like that, I'll open up a few sites associated with the translators for these novels, targeting an answer to the question of why they involve themselves in them, in this most primary sector, rather than any other.

Is it to earn a pretty penny? a way to consolidate your Japanese knowledge? or perhaps something seldom seen these days: a venture of iron sharpening iron, of a fan merely wanting for a work he admires to spread elsewhere, enjoyed by others as he did.

And so, with tab after tab opened, and some desultory reading, I come to the all too expected, and all too unsurprising outcome, that yes, cases 1 & 2 are quite typical, and that the idea of an assemblage of fans occupying 'official' positions, for a company to have a sizeable number of them at their employment, just never happens after all. You get mismatches, you get people in it for money, you get people treating it all as an aside, an emergent consequence of which naturally harbingers a less than desirable, disagreeable work. A pitied translation read only by mongrels, trash for 'EOPs'.
A bastardized product.

Why is a BL loving, mystery obsessed, shoujo enthralled succubus in her 30s translating a scifi harem series targeted at boys, despite the easily accessible public comments on her blog portraying her dissatisfaction with such things?
Why give the guy who loves TRPGs and fantasy the responsibility of translating a work entirely divorced from that..?

Why give the guy who can't differentiate fiction from reality a work with lolis aplenty?
Why give the homosexual or succubus whose into anime for pretty boys a thorough bread eechi romcom for guys?

I don't understand. Why? why? I can keep repeating it over and over, but I probably won't understand. Maybe a compromised product is the end goal from the get go.
Even appointing the right man for the right job can't be done right. If just this was fixed, the translation quality would've leaped by scores, for all sorts of things, and you wouldn't get such fucked up works.

Well, I'll go back to practicing JP now. It was stupid to revisit these things, although I'll pay mind to reading what the actual fans pen out, at least up until I've learnt the language enough.
