I haven't watched the Pokemon anime in a long time, is there anything truly worth going back to, or is it all just blind nostalgia? I'll occasionally read news about the series, like how Ash finally won the Pokemon league, and has at long last been written off the show. Honestly, I lost interest in the anime after the infamous XYZ meltdowns and subsequent Sun and Moon seethe. Nothing will ever top that.

LMAO man the Pokemon franchise as a whole doesn't skimp on the loli bait, I don't blame you for saying this

But seriously, to OP's question: I personally kiiiiiiiiiinda wanna watch the new shit Horizons, and that's 90% because there's a less cringe protagonist and if I'm not mistaken there's no "poke-speak" from the 'mons themselves which used to drive me insane? Might be good then!

 No.42265

The only ones worth watching is the 90s series for nostalgia, and the gen 6 series because it's the closest Pokemon ever came to being a shonen.

Being a millennial weaboo sucks. Everyone is dying and anime is becoming more and more like homogenous where everything looks like the same crappy digital style.

Welcome to my world. I haven't had interest in anime since Attack on Titan ended. Looking at what's coming out these days makes me think that was the peak for this decade like madoka magica was for 2010s. The 2000s and 90s was full of good stuff every year every season from what I checked.

Honestly, that's a good thingᵀᴹ. It means you can draw a big red line under a certain year and just ignore everything. I miss old school dubs.

I had time to kill a couple years ago and so I decided to pick up Pokemon Violet and give it a try. I'd heard it had the same open-world gameplay as SWSH but had refined it, and honestly I had wanted a Pokemon game like that since gen 1 so I was pretty excited.

So I get playing, and eventually I get to the Ghost gym/city. The city itself was only nominally ghost-related, which was disappointing but I thought whatever. Then I went to the gym, and rather than it being anything related to ghost pokemon for some reason there's this black person who is all like "Ash Ketchum I challenge you to a rap battle muh fuggin bix nood."

Nu Pokemon is so disappointing and I highly recommend staying away from it. Absolutely nothing is sacred and beyond the grasp of American globohomo
