>real-time territorial changes made to cartographies during times of war observable by potentially millions of people worldwide like some sort of life-size grand strategy game I like maps!
>>306490 that reminds me someone posted a 1942 globe, and the map aspies were pointing out all the errors in territorial changes, but it turns out it was real, and family globes don't care about capturing every geopolitical nuance.
wikipedia maps are probably more accurate in capturing every inch than actual maps from the 1930s
>>306491 Sometimes in international disputes things like this can be used to justify a country's claim on a certain territory: >This map made in your country in the year 1957 shows this territory as not belonging to your country, which means your claim to it must be from after that year (which makes it probably bullshit). Because of this in some countries "Babby's First World Atlas" will also include a dull looking, serious map along with the cartoony ones to show what the country considers its real borders.
>>306492 Double-posting because maybe this will be deleted for mentioning something a little too close to politics, but in all certainty all maps legally published and sold in Ukraine since 2014 Crimea, Luhansk, Donetsk, Kherson and Zapo… etc. are all labelled as part of Ukraine, at most including some mention about them being "currently under Russian occupation".

I went to my brother's apartment for the first time today since 2015. I'd been living in there from 2008 and 2015. It felt a lot more awkward than I was hoping it'd be especially considering that he kicked me out of his apartment in 2015, and his wife was coming over soon (I had an eye on her several years before the two started dating).
In other news; I ate fried chicken and watermelon today.

It's not a nail polish in that sense but it's applied in the same way. The problem is that you need to apply it yourself so it's easy to cheat.
>>306515 >but does it really taste that bad? I ordered it from Amazon last year because my nails looked disgusting, I initially thought it wouldn't do much but just thought fuck it. When it arrived I put the small brush thing it gives you on my nails and deliberately gave myself a tiny taste just to see what it was like. Even though I put an extremely small amount of my tongue, the bitterness was overwhelming and I gagged. It's nasty shit.

>>306532 Ever since they implemented AI algorithms into search engines some years ago it kept getting worse. Even the image searches are dumbed down.
I miss stumbling on interesting websites while googling stuff or searching for images. Now it's just basic shit and the image searches mainly deliver content from stock websites. The results are also terribly censored and they keep blacklisting sites.
I figured that search engines like duckduckgo deliver slightly more interesting results but I have yet to find a search engine that comes close to the oldschool google experience from the early 2000s.
>>306533 I feel like relatively recently I was able to just shotgun format my searches, but now it's all just awful. Does it have something to do with the reddit shutdowns? Do these cancerous journo sites pay google with all their ad money to stay on the top?

Annoying how these tech products are often so shit. I bought a super simple Nokia phone thinking it would be reliable, randomly loses signal and fanily can’t call me - despite telling me I have full signal. Silently failing. Everything is crap
>>306536 I looked into Nokia feature phones because I hate smartphones. I just wanted a phone that would have been good by the standards of say 2008. From what I saw, it was very disappointing. They either have no camera or it's absolutely garbage (I used to have a feature phone from 2011 or so with 2 megapixels, these phones have something like 640x480 or 800x600 resolutions). Occasionally I want to take pictures of some things, I'd rather those pictures turned out larger than post stamps. The more advanced ones (which have apps like, for example, a dumbed-down version of whatsapp) apparently have a really sluggish operating system, I looked it up on the archive of crabchan's /g/ and everybody was trashing it, saying it was slow and really frustrating to use. From googling around it seems that they can't even block numbers, one of the most obvious things you would want to do with a phone. I was really looking forward to getting one but all those issues, along with them being a pain to get in my country (and I'm not sure one meant for a different market would work on the local network) made me just give up. It's not like I really need a phone anyway, right?

>>306094 >>306095 >>306096 >tell me what you would do I wouldn't post about my problems on an imageboard where I will not get any sincere or honest help. You can figure out your problems on your own.
>>306549 I hardly post on imageboards anymore, but I believe this can have value as a sounding board This is a big thing, and it's hard to wrap my head around it, but yea, you're probably right. At least I finally know what was so fucked about my life. That's a silver lining. Not a lot of people get that kind of clarity.
People like to think humans are weak, but our bodies are perfectly suited to be a high int predators. Humans have the highest endurance of any creature on the planet and are the only creatures that are able to accurately throw an object a long distance with enough force to kill something. Other apes are only capable of lobbing a rock that doesn't have that much force behind it, but a human is strong enough that it can drill a rock into a fucking rabbit's head and kill it from meters away.
Humans became so OP because our bodies are well suited for hunting, not the other way around. It is probably why other smart creatures like squids and dolphins aren't building cities and shit. Their bodies aren't suited for a high int build.

It bothers me how dumb my family can be at times. Like for a long time I kept telling my brother (he's 17 years older than me) that I wanted to see the snow on the San Gabriel mountains during winter, and every year he'd agree that that would be a cool thing to see but that he didn't know when to go because he didn't know when snow would fall. I eventually had to explain to him, "just because it's not snowing doesn't mean there's no snow." He responded with, "yeah that doesn't make any sense." I added, "when it snows: the snow falls from the sky, it touches the ground, then it stops snowing, but the snow stays on the ground." He then responded, "yeah but I don't know how long the snow stays on the ground." When I first got my car; I simply decided to drive out to the San Gabriel mountains alone and got to see snow on the ground when it wasn't snowing for the first time at the age of 23.
His stupidity wouldn't bother me so much if he didn't call me stupid so often.

Marijuana is not potent enough to cause any brain or bodily changes no matter how much you smoke and you have to be retarded to believe otherwise. It's like saying you tried coffee once and became an insomniac.
>>306580 >Marijuana is not potent enough to cause any brain or bodily changes no matter how much you smoke and you have to be retarded to believe otherwise. Yes it is, it immediately changes the functionality of the brain which over a period of regular use results in the brain's chemical structure and shape changing greatly. The only place you'll read otherwise are on those trollcrafted "pro weed" infographics that people use to test just how far gone potheads like you are. Just being stressed occasionally can change the shape of the brain. Ingesting synthetic cortisol does the same. But a drug that people use to get high and can somehow make chronic pain go away? Oh fucking no, that's harmless at all levels! idiot. >It's like saying you tried coffee once and became an insomniac. No, it's nothing like that at all. Marijuana and the poison chemicals it contains directly attacks the brain in several different ways, which can manifest as different issues in people. The main one is altered stress responses, followed by hyperactivity of visual and auditory senses, and finally, smelling like dog feces.
The guy you're replying to described how he ingested copious amounts of edible THC, without any prior tolerance developed, while having previous shizo-atypical perceptual experiences. Which manifested as a short hallucinogenic experience. That's not a "Coffee gave me insomnia :( :(" strawman you've made up, that's a "I have preexisting heartrate problems and drank 11 Monster Energy Drinks, causing my heart to palpitate so much that the fear of it seizing up made me scared for my safety"
People who perpetuate the lie that dope in any capacity is safe and has no lasting negative effects need to have their face melted off with a blowtorch like what happened to the guy used as the charred corpse texture in HL2.

In fact, all you've done is present a long-worded "You're dumb" type argument, disregarding anything said about the actual subject. "Pursue an education" is also really indicative of your status as an outsider as the prospect of taking part in an educational institution has long been seen as not only a poor means at being taught anything worth knowing, but also as an anti-neet sentiment. And no, this isn't some queue for you to scream "Wizchan mods are stalking me :0", because every site on the internet is cracking down on submissions from VPNs because your ilk can't seem to resist the urge to use your state-monitored artificial privacy facade as a tool to shit up a website with no consequence. Usage of this site itself, and the highly personal things people write here, linked to users' real IP, is very dangerous information that could easily be abused, sold, monetized. Even if the admin is just incompetent, you must expect the database to then be hacked and used by malicious actors. This situation is a disgrace

In fact, Wizchan is running less conventional frontend website software than the average board is, allows fewer file formats, and processing what files do come through to strip away embedded code. There are fewer opportunities for a backdoor than on Bubba's free wordpress BBoard deployment. >by malicious actors. WHO are these malcontents? "How am I walking through this dog? That can't be right. This is obviously a video game. Hey, dev, can you shut off the music?"
>>306769 i used to find it fun to search google group usenet archives from the 1990s, but they fucked up the search engine and its much more wonky now.
>>306774 Yeah I was surprised to still be able to find some of my old posts from the year 1999. I coulda' sworn I was already posting in 1998, but I couldn't find those posts. Some of my posts from 2003 or 2004 helped jog my memory a bit especially in relation to my high school years.
>>306775 cool to meet a wiz with memories of the 90s web. i tried to start my own site on homestead in 1999, create my own micronation like in pinky n brain.
stretching my arms out to see muscles Forearms on the table start banging my fists on the table over and over like rumble from transformers trying to start an earthquake feels good
mom brought no-bake cookies (chocolate/peanut butter oat things) they are rubbery and not like when I was a kid threw them away feels bad but they weren't good
It's a strange thought, that millennials will be the last geeks of their kind. The later generation of will have no links to geekdom because they've essentially kicked out.
I shall now attempt to list every tornado in California from January 1st to August 26th of 2023 for no reason in particular other than to maybe ogle at my neatly ordered list of tornadoes every once in awhile:
EF1 tornado in Sacramento county on January 10th EF0 tornado in Calaveras county on January 14th EF1 tornado in Montebello, Los Angeles county on March 22nd EF0 tornado in Carson, Los Angeles county on May 4th EF0 tornado in Compton, Los Angeles county on May 4th
>>306843 Someone really needs to post an "end of the wizards" thread.
You know, and this might go over some (zoomer) anons heads but geek culture, if it can distinguished as something separate from the monoculture anymore, is (irreversibly) oversexualised in a strange way that's hard to describe.
>>306929 Here's a poem that chatgpt dreamt up instead.
In realms of magic, once they thrived, A site of wizards, where dreams arrived. With robes of knowledge, they did unite, Spreading enchantment, day and night.
Scrolls of wisdom, comments arcane, A vibrant community, none could disdain. Sparks of insight in each keystroke, A symphony of spells, a lore bespoke.
But winds of change began to blow, A subtle whisper, a melancholy flow. The userbase waned, like fading stars, As life's demands pulled them afar.
A silent emptiness crept through the halls, Echoing incantations against crumbling walls. Threads of connection, fraying thin, As the once bustling hub grew dim.
Grand libraries stood now hushed and still, No more debates atop knowledge's hill. Potions of friendship, brewed and shared, Grew cold and stagnant, no one cared.
Admins and mods with heavy hearts, Saw the end drawing near, like divined arts. They tried to rekindle the dwindling fire, But the spark of magic had begun to tire.
A final spell, a desperate plea, "Restore the glory, let it be free!" But the mystical servers flickered and sighed, As the site of wizards, slowly died.
The last user logged out with a sigh, Leaving behind memories that would never die. The virtual realm, once full of might, Faded into shadows, out of sight.
Gone were the days of spells and charms, Vanished were the friendships in open arms. The end times had come, the tale was spun, The site of wizards had finally gone.
Yet in the hearts of those who knew, The magic would linger, forever true. A legacy woven in digital thread, A testament to the moments they had led.
Just noticed that my TV has a CrunchyRoll app where I can watch every episode of Yu Yu Hakusho for free. It's been like 20 years since I last watched like 10 episodes.
Just noticed that my PC has a BitTorrent client where I can download every episode of Yu Yu Shiki for free. It's been like 20 days since I last watched all 12 episodes.
>>307007 Yeah some people say that you can get a big energy boost by consuming caffeine and taking a 15-minute to 2-hour-long nap sometime around noon.
>>307015 Hold up I just remembered that one of the middle schools here in Los Angeles has an adult school program and am now wondering whether or not the adult school classes at the middle school function like those at this high school I used to take adult school classes at where they would stuff the adults (of ages 21 and above) in the same classrooms as that of minors (ages 16 to 18) during school hours (1:30 PM in the weekdays).
Just woke up after sleeping for 8 hours and already feel exhausted. Fascinating. Even having thoughts is too tiring, they appear and fall flat as I stare blankly at the monitor. Fascinating. I can hear the neighbor watering his lawn or whatever he's doing with a hose. Not so fascinating. Would go back to sleep but that too is now sounding like an exhausting prospect now. I need a very long vacation in another body in another dimension, a whole new reality would not be too bad, either.
As time goes on; I buy more into the idea that my parents got married and orchestrated several years of fights just to get divorced and then have my brother leave me alone with our mother about half a year after my father left effectively leaving me stuck with her for the next two decades… why? Just for shits and giggles.
>my mother throwing a tantrum because according to her the police would actually come over to arrest me for refusing to pay what I owed after the police came over last year to have me involuntarily committed to a hospital >I tell her to let them arrest me >she tells me to get serious and gets angrier at me >I'm 34 years old
most threads, and also posts, on imageboards are "i have an opinion, argue with me". it's kinda tiring. these posts necessarily require others to reply to them, but there is never any resolution, nothing final. after a certain point i can't believe people still do this arguing
>>307080 I love arguing but the problem is that people on imageboards don't actually want to argue to challenge or expand their world view but to just "own" someone so they use dirty tricks and argue in bad faith and simply stop responding once you make a good argument.
>>307090 >despite It's a societal condition. Those who are dumb enough to indulge in a psychologist, especially for the sake of an "IQ" test, are the most likely to lash out violently when their intelligence. You're strong, you're powerful, you're handsome, and those medical records don't lie. The psych evaluated your threat level and passes you as a genius for his own safety. Meanwhile, actual geniuses such as myself are doomed to have small peepee forever.
>>307084 Hallucination wiz, have you tried medicine or supplements to see if it makes the hallucinations go away? If you are hallucinating surely you are at risk of becoming delusional, and at that point it's going to be too late.
Your entire experience of reality is created by what is going on in your brain. Drugs can change this which is why some of them like LSD can cause hallucinations or other reality-breaking effects. If your reality is already being broken by your brain not working normally then you should try to find the right drug to change your brain function back to normal. There is nothing mystical about what is happening to you, and it needs to be addressed.
>>307143 >Hallucination wiz, have you tried medicine Yes. I took Abilify for over a year. >supplements to see if it makes the hallucinations go away? I'm not familiar with any supplements that make hallucinations go away. >If you are hallucinating surely you are at risk of becoming delusional I was already diagnosed with delusional disorder back in 2016.
i had to cut in an outlet for a above-stove cabinet microwave, and spent like 4 four hours fishing the wire to the breaker panel. sure would have been easier to wire in before drywalling, painting, cabinets, etc… but where is the challenge in that
>>307148 The last place I moved out of, the landlord turned in to a boarding house full of guys on disability and it was basically that. Just sit around, watch tv. No succubi or kids coming over. The one who had a car would drive everyone in to do laundry and groceries once a week and they'd pay him in beer. Someone would turn up the barbeque every now and then and everyone would eat good.
You see it a lot in young guys these days too, renting rooms and just kind of coexisting with a mutual disinterest in creating any serious positive or negative relationships. Like the homeless Japanese during the 16th century who would subdivide horse stables and live in peace with the other vagabonds, sharing in food, sake, and banter while liable to just pack up and disappear at a moment's notice.
>>307148 Based on my current income (quit my job for another well paying job, and then the new job bailed on me at the last second (assholes)), I'm probably going to find roommates next time I move out of my current shitty apartment. This city (and everything else) is too goddamn expensive to live in. Even the "cheaper" areas are getting more expensive because rich fucks from FL and CA keep buying up the houses and renting them out as bnbs. I much prefer living alone, I'm 31 and don't have the battery for roommates, but I feel as if I'm going to have to make that shift soon.
so many god damn little rocks in my potato chips. this time i saw it, it was a black spot, and it was inside the chip. every other month i crunch on something hard and spit out a small rock or grain of sand or something inedible
I'm falling deeply in love with the eleven-year-old actress who played the role of the little succubus at the museum in the first episode of Moon Knight!
>>307156 Looked her up. I'm king lolicon but even she is just kind of meh. Go tell /tv/ about it, they'll hook you up with more 3DKDs to powergoon over.
>>307165 Yeah there are very few pictures of her that you can find through a simple Google search; I only managed to find rare ones of her as a model through Pinterest.
/tv/ only obsesses over a very small handful actresses like McKenna Grace, Julia Butters, Xochitl Gomez, Isabella Sermon, and Lulu Wilson. It's mostly over McKenna Grace, actually. She gets at least a few threads every day. I find it easier to just browse through actresses on IMDB, anyway.
>>307154 not sure, i never buy them. next time we get them i'll find out. they are from walmart though, the rock-hard kettle potato chips. but theres a few different brans so i'll find out maybe next week
>grim reaper mocking a 14-year-old boy after he got himself killed by trying to save a toddler from getting hit by a car by telling him that he will burn in Hell over defending himself against other middle schoolers trying to pick fights with him and telling him that he must do what he is told
Damn. This show was kinda' brutal. Sending a 14-year-old to Hell just like that, huh?
>>307145 You should keep trying drugs until you find one that works for you. I have met some schizos over the years and many of them say it can be a long and tedious process to find a medicine that works for them with a tolerable level of side effects, but ultimately if you are in danger of becoming insane you really need to get on that shit before it spirals and you start believing shit that will make it impossible for you to accept treatment.
I sleep at 5 am and wake up at 2 pm. If I skip sleep I'll go back to my old schedule in the next 2 days. If I set alarm to wake up earlier I'll just go back to sleep after deactivating it. Any idea how to fix it?
I saw an image the other day about how Starfield is just a game where you're the Starborn and you have Starborn shouts, and I thought it was really funny. I don't know, for some reason I thought it was being ironic.
Being a Hispanic adult in the US; I've come to realize that I don't perceive Hispanic adults to be "true adults". White adults, however, have an inherent adult quality to them. I can't quite place my finger on why that is.
>>307215 >>307216 I think it's mostly a physical thing. Probably indoctrinated into believing that white guys like Clint Eastwood are what men are supposed to look like.
But yeah most people I talk to nowadays regardless of race, age, and sex come off as idiots. Myself included.
>>307219 I don't mean seeing white people as role models, though.
Like I used to live with my brother in Hancock Park (from 2008 to 2015 when I was 19 to 26 years old) which is an affluent neighborhood of mostly white people in Los Angeles and I remember feeling intimidated when talking with white adults especially white men. >>307218 I don't think it's a height thing because I'm 5'11".
>What's that scifi movie where everyone has been genetically modified to look perfect and it's like some corporate future? >The movie you're referring to is likely "Gattaca" (1997)
i want to praise chatgpt for being a better form of google, but in this case, just googling my result shows gattaca. actually impressive
I open imageboards and there is nothing there for me, nothing interesting, not a thing. A bunch of boring shit idgaf about. There is one place I like to funpost but that's it and it's slow.
>highest recorded temperature in the Arctic circle = 38.0°C (100.4°) on 20 June 2020 >highest recorded temperature in Antarctica = 18.3 °C (64.9 °F) on 6 February 2020
>>307240 I used Google Bard to ask about name origin of some American football teams in US as well as giving answers to meanings of words from Love Live songs and episode names and it worked wonders but messed up on real life references in the series. And then I put mocha, latte, mochiato, Americano (seen on the menu in one anime) and it gave results with bullet points and even in a sheet format with all their differences from each other. Way faster if one by one or even Ctrl-F on Wikipedia as I put Google Bard shortcut on the homescreen.
>>307267 >they confirmed I have COVID A flue by any other name is just as harmless. >COVID med Warm water, multivitamins, and an expectorant. Anything else is snake venom.
>>307267 I've had a couple badass flus within thw last 3 years. Whether it was actually some form of 'rona idk, but I felt like dying. I wouldn't care for buzzwords like covid, I just wanted to get better. And I did.
