No man chose the year he was born in (as far as I know), so don't waste your
hatred or shame on that. It's best to direct those feelings at things you can
change. The fact is that we are alive here and now, so we may as well make the
best of our situation. I do think we're lucky, in some ways, to be alive today.
But it's not easy to properly use the things we have. The internet is indeed
full of AI-generated nonsense and porn, but it can also be viewed as a great
library of historical media, for example. It is one of our challenges to sift
through the trash, and find the things of value. But there's nothing stopping
you from trying.

I have an idea. You say that you're nostalgic for the 2000s. You should be able
to replicate many things about how life was back then. Find out everything you
can about your chosen period, and try to live as if you really were living back
then. Look at how people spent their free time before smartphones on things like
books, films, music and art. All of those things can be reproduced very easily
today. This will also help break your smartphone addiction, because it will give
you something to fill the time that you would have spent using the smartphone.
When you're trying to break any addiction, having something to replace it with
is very helpful. If you have money, you can go even further and satisfy your
sense of aesthetics with things like period-accurate fashion and furniture, for
example. Eventually, you can become a sort of living anachronism. At least, that
will give you an active goal to channel your hatred toward.

I loved the iPhone when it came out, finally I was able to browse the internet anywhere. I always hated it having to leave my PC and go anywhere where there is no computer and internet.
also AI is cool too, can be annoying but its neat to have a computer to talk to.
I guess with smartphone, computer, internet and AI I dont feel so lonely so I see it as a good thing.

I think the worst is this all-pervasive sense of soullessness and nihilism, even "non-mainstream" parts of the internet like 4cuck have stagnated.
I remember even up to 2015 you could go on the blue boards on 4cuck and find OC and interesting threads.
You also get banned everywhere for nonsense reasons.
Small websites like these are the only ones I visit.
There also was more of a sense of "soul" in the real world 2009-2011, in a certain way, when the normies say "nothing" has meaning, they truly have turned everything into "nothing"

Can be broken into several sub-periods, too. 2 basic asthetics: Y2K aesthetics refers to the early 2000s, while Frutiger Aero means late 2000s

Do you want to be stuck in time like it's 15+ years ago while the rest of the world moves on? There's a time and place for everything and revisiting the past can be good, but you can't indulge in it all the time. It is taxing in many ways to live anywhere but the present. You will be nostalgic for the 2020s soon enough. The billionaires are doing everything they can to make sure only they can enjoy the outside world. The rest of us will just have to settle with fake virtual ones - they've said as much.
