If you get twilight menu, you can play any DS game. Pokemon B&W are mindless, but fun.
The remakes for OoT and Majora's Mask are pretty ok, there's a port for Ace Attorney, mystery dungeon was pretty good too, and the GBA metroids held my attention for a while.
If you want to try something for shiggles, my favorite game as a kid on my ds was lego battles. It's a bit more niche and it's not perfect, but I played it for years.

Also, here's one for Pokemon: succubi Hunter edition.
If anyone is interested, there are tools out there to directly convert ROMs into files you can directly download onto your 3ds with qr codes. Upload any .cia files you make to catbox and make a qr code from the link to share it. Pretty sure there are other injectors out there for ROMs besides GBA, great tools to make ROM hacks playable on 3ds.

The two big sandbox games are on the 3DS.
As expected they have limitations, and Minecraft only works on the New 3DS, but it's better than nothing. Also not an issue with the port but rather with the game in general, but in Terraria the NPC dialogs can get quite cringe, peaking at interracial propaganda, but that's not the main focus of the game and the actual gameplay is great.
