use fitgirl repacks or a private tracker if you can get into one
you can have a separate pc just for games where you don't login into any important services
worst case you can do a clean re-install if you notice anything fishy

you can run it on linux, use firejail or any other container isolation to isolate the process and let it use only the wine folder. You can and should drop the networking access to any game which don't need, and put your wine folder into a separate mountpoint with usage quota. Literally the only bad thing that can happen is too much IO or some process use too much CPU, which you can then just kill it. Nobody will add to a windows game an advanced cgroups exploit for linux…

I think what you want to do is, use VPN (yes, buy a subscription) then you get a torrent client (qBitTorrent for example) then you go to russian pirating site rutracker dot org. You right click anywhere on the page, click "translate to English"m make an account. Search for game, download torrent file, then download the game using torrent client.
It is surprisingly good moderated site, with it's own standarts to torrents, the ammount of poorly made ones is minimal and they get deleted, so it's moderated even.
