Field of Glory 2
This is a cult classic, you MUST own it if you have a PC. There's not even anything to debate here.
>Unity of Command 2
Entry level wargame that with made with the assistance of the Serious Sam devs, don't need DLC and the main campaign is very good and has branching paths based on your performance.
>Shadow Empire
Wargame mashed up with 4x, you play as a military dictatorship and compete with rival factions to conquer alien planets. Heavy emphasis on logistics and trench warfare.
>Endless Space 2
Classic space 4x with some really interesting races and just overall a very clean and well-done representation of that sub-genre.
>Trails in the Sky
This is THE one and only premiere PC JRPG, and is a continuous series that has been ongoing for 20 years.
>Geneforge Mutagen
You are a meat wizard called a "shaper" which can create life, and get lost on a sentient dinosaur island. The series is currently being remade.
>Age or Decadence
A mix of fall of Rome and ancient aliens. Your character build and choices drastically alter the game.
>Knights of the Chalice
Grognard battle chess in the OGL 3.5e ruleset with some interesting homebrew.
>Legend of Grimrock 2
A dungeon crawler but you're trapped on a massive island instead of a dungeon. There's not enough room in the character limit to explain everything good about it but this is easily one of the best games I have ever played in my entire life and I felt depressed when it was over.
