Every single character in Sailor Moon and Cardcaptor Sakura are just sheltered rich kids. Doremi had way more grit to it.
This show has just the right amount of obscure to it, I hate it when people find an older show and meme it to death.
I think it's because its got that mature moral undertone. As a kids show it was trying to convey lessons to kids, but it didn't let that get in the way of being good entertainment.
Favorite arc is the part where Majo Ruka shows up in season 1, stealing the Mahodo for herself and starts selling actual useful magical items to people. The suffering of the Doremi's trying to make money out of that bus and their efforts not being rewarded felt like the most realistic the show got.
There's the episode where her mom and her have a bath. Doremi's mom talks about how she was suicidal before giving birth to doremi, as she lost her ability to play piano. That felt more melodramatic than realistic to me.
That's why I love Doremi, it feels a bit more depressing and serious at times, but it's still super energetic and charming from start to finish.
My thoughts exactly. Its why I can't get into this one or Nichijou. Those trannies ruined it for me.
All 201 episodes and 13 OVAs are 10/10
Can cheer up even the most hardened of viewers
Zero LGBT or degenerate themes found
Has a huge world to explore
Extremely relatable and lovable main characters
All side characters and one offs are memorable and fun
HazukixMasaru is too pure for this world
The humor is on point and always hilarious
Pulls no punches with serious subjects, but never feels too preachy either
Can get tragic and heartwrenching
Is secretly an inspiring and beautiful coming of age story
Is secretly a character study disguised as a magic succubus show
Animation is extremely expressive and the backgrounds and layouts are very creative and detailed
Was an anime first before getting it's own manga adaptation, making it one of the few exceptions in history
Music is on another level, one of the most unique and diverse soundtracks of all time
The world the show creates captures your wonder and imagination
Show can get extremely sad and emotional
Is considered more obscure, meaning only true patricians know of its existence
Everyone can have fun with this series, from casuals to hardcores
Is a genuine tearjerker, many sad moments occur that always leaves an impact
The most heartwarming show ever created
The amount of reaction images this show has is unreal
Sharp movie is a bonus episode with a higher budget, Motto movie is an absolute masterpiece
You can just watch episode 40 of Dokkan and not need to watch anything else
The main characters are deep, endearing people who you grow very attached to
The ending of Dokkan is a perfect and satisfying conclusion
Seriously, this show looks goofy and silly on the surface, and it is, but it is honest to God, the best magic succubus show of all time.
>>34556>Is considered more obscure, meaning only true patricians know of its existence
Sorry to say, but you jumped on the Doremi train too late my friend. The movie and the 4chong maymays made this show that was once only popular with little succubi in Spain/France/Japan everyone's favorite animu.
Season 1 can be a bit unfocused with several episodes missing the mark, sign that the creators weren't yet sure of what direction to take.
Sharp (season 2) is the other opposite, very plot driven to the point of it becoming a bit one-sided and boring. The glorious tragic ending is legendary.
The last 2 seasons and the "naisho" specials are the highlights of the series, they finally found a perfect balance and these seasons are probably the best ever in the mahou shoujo genre.
Has anyone seen the new movie yet?
Hope it gets subbed soon.
Finally someone uploaded a batch of the full serieshttps://nyaa.si/view/1322540

is it avalible online to watch I just want something like non non biyori to watch
Doremi isn't for you
Just watched an episode I am unsure if I can get into it honestly and it is not because of the art style although the could be cuter.
Why is it not for me do you think? I dislike episodic stuff I felt that sailor moon could have been better structured diffferently I mainly enjoy watching stuff like mitsuboshi colors and non non biyori.
Doremi's good because the characters are actually unique and not just blobs of cuteness. In fact it's completely opposite from moe anime, as its main appeal draws from imperfections and even criticizes "kawaii culture" and idorus in Onpu centered episodes. I think someone mentions this in the thread already, but Doremi characters weren't all pretty rich kids that lived perfect lives. In fact most of them are poor and kind of deformed. Every character in the show have big foreheads and noodle arms.>Why is it not for me do you think? I dislike episodic stuff I felt that sailor moon could have been better structured diffferently I mainly enjoy watching stuff like mitsuboshi colors and non non biyori.
The show focuses a lot on Doremi's classmates, especially in the first season. So if you wanted the focus to be on pretty succubi, then it's simply not for you.

You might enjoy Flying Witch and Sketchbook Full Colors then
Thanks i really liked flying witch I seen it a while ago it is strange to me that people hate on moe but there is some really good SOL moe :(
There will be a blu-ray release of the entire series and new movie soon.
I have yet to see another magic g.irl show match the sheer fun, charm and character development of Ojamajo Doremi.
/s4s/ has a banner with links to the shows torrents btw.
Season two is a bit of a drag to sit through, but after that it's so good.
The movie's out, but I have a feeling wizchan will hate it
I'll give my thoughts after I've finished it
I just watched it.
I wouldn't call it "The Movie" because it's not. It's "A" movie, but it's not THE Ojamajo Doremi movie. It's a story that is a complete one on its own, but the Ojamaji Doremi anime happens to be the initiator for the plotpoints and the emotional driver for the cast. It's as much as the Ojamajo Doremi Movie as Kumiko The Treasure Hunter
is Fargo 2
, or Fanboys
is Star Wars Episode 12
The movie was a light love story and summer break adventure film aimed at college succubi. It deals lightly with relationship issues but doesn't hit hard where it could of, opting to focus on the succubi's confident and campy gal power and how they help each other on to the path that they all want to follow. Ojamajo Doremi only comes in to play as the reason they all become friends.
Doesn't add anything new if you're itching for more Doremi, and not a standout film by any means. Would recommend as light watching if you enjoyed Doremi and would like more of the same comedy, but the film isn't made for old virgin men like us so there won't be much to relate to, except… If you're a true waifufriend (of any 2d), you'll find inspiration in the Onpu fan's ultimatum.
Wow, that new Doremi movie was crappy.
They were only in it for like three minutes, and the rest was just following three uninteresting roasties getting drunk.
The Onpu guy was the best part of the movie, I would have rather had him be main character.
As for what he posted, its all up for interpretation, but I would guess people were calling him a pedo or a creep or something.
I completely agree, the three succubi are annoying and dull as fuck.
It did not feel like Ojamajo Doremi at all, what a complete letdown. Where are the characters and settings that made Doremi what it was? There was no Kotake, no Yada, no Tamaki, no semis sensei, there wasn't even the witch world or Oyajide.
I'm legit mad, I'm a big Doremi fan and this was fucking terrible.

Well either you weren't following this film's release at all or you're kind of slow. The first video teaser that came out two summers ago focused entirely on the three succubi, and then when the movie released last year, the guys at Doremi-Fansubs and some /a/nons bragged about seeing the movie in Japan and gave synopsises. >I'm legit mad, I'm a big Doremi fan and this was fucking terrible
Thinking more about it, the film could've been way better if it focused on one (justified) depressed succubus instead of three boring cunts struggling with tame work struggles. I know the film has the Ojamajo Doremi handle, and it's animated by the subsidiary of Toei that exclusively produces the magical succubus brand that's most well known for being featured on little succubus's diapers and sippie cups; but, if they wanted this film to be taken seriously, couldn't they have stretched for more of an X-rating? If they didn't want to step out of their comfort zone, they could've just done a fun Doremi film like everyone wanted. It's rare when Japanese animation directors get down to Earth and discuss real problems in their works. But when they do, it's raw and artsy. Like someone already said, this is just tacky rom-com crap with the Ojamajo Doremi logo slapped on it. It's a bait-and-switch, where you think you're getting a trip down Doremi lane, but you're served dollar-bin romantic comedy trash.
Or, they could have made an actual proper Doremi movie. I would have rather an in universe film about something like Pop's friends becoming witches, or a film where it's set one year after the Dokkan finale. Hell, a film where they get introduced to Majo Rhythm would have been good to. But nah, lets have three whiney toasties take up a majority of the film. Even the three broads going INTO the Doremi universe would have made a much better film.
As for X-rated? Make the movie about Onpu guy and his lolicon addiction, would have been way better.

Your anger isn't just misplaced, it's completely ungrounded in reason. Don't fall mad because they didn't make a film about Doremi, a 20-something ear old anime that ended solidly after a long run. Instead be glad that they made an inoffensive, wholesome original film and within it just happened to mention and take inspiration from the lessons of Doremi. It's okay to feel a void within when something dear comes to an end, especially when the conditions of the ending don't suit your taste. But to get angry when an anime studio doesn't resurrect a series for a quick buck… Manbabay cringe tier emotions, not basedpilled and very zoomy too fam. How could they have even? The cast have all outgrown the capabilities of their roles, Majo Rikka's seiyu might even be dead, DEAD. Reruns of the anime haven't been popular among the shoujo crowd so they wouldn't see profits from even their target demographic. Imagine getting MEMEd by a dedicated shitposting board in to watching a little succubi's show from the PS1 era and then using its inevitable end as a basis for your HATE. LM ass off.
>As for X-rated? Make the movie about Onpu guy and his lolicon addiction, would have been way better.
Are 20 years worth of doujins NOT ENOUGH
I wanted an actual Doremi movie, not a shitty, generic romcom with the IP slapped on it.
The new movie is still shit, I hope that doesn't affect the franchise if they wanted to make a reboot or anything.
It's not "The movie".
Someone on YouTube uploaded A bunch of raw, obscure Doremi VHS tapes to their channel. Can't wait for them to get subbed!
Channel is called hayden's obscurities if you're curious.
They probably ain't staying up for long so download them while you can.
I checked and it's all stuff that's already been posted to Saeed's MEGA folder and torrent sites, but uploaded in worse quality because>youtube

Make sure to seed partners
It's so much better than that shitty movie that came out earlier this year.
It's so hard to go back to the earlier two seasons before Momoko is introduced and Hana-Chan aged herself up.
This show's hype died down.
It's 25 fucking years old.
Here are some good shows to check out after you are finished watching Ojamajo Doremi:
