Where do I go now that the internet went to shit?

You know how there have been cities that relied on a single industry for employment and then when that industry pulled out of the city the city went to shit? That's how I feel. I once had a lot of fun spending every day at the computer but now the internet communities I once loved are gone or a shadow of their former self and I have no else to go because I have no real-life social skills.

Drugs

You won't like it, but everyone who copes with things that aren't drugs eventually finds their way to drugs. I did it, you'll do it. We all do it.

Just thought the same thing. The borders between irl and online are fading too much. When I browse the internet now it gives me the same feeling as when I was forced to watch TV with normies. It's too kucu of a window to the normie world now.

Real life just sucks if you're a social retard. The way the world is set up you gotta be quite socialized to get anything out of it. If you don't want to resort to drugs as >>309563 suggested or if you don't wanna end up roping you need to have a purpose, passion or whatever otherwise it's constant suffering because you're stuck with yourself.

I just moved on.
Yeah, it can take up to 4 years since that's the maximum denial, bargaining, madness, depression, and even acceptance takes to absorb (i think i'm still in depression).
Yeah, sometimes you even have to subtley phase it out (otherwise you risk a complete relapse if you hold it all inside).
Hell, there will even be those who will attempt to trigger you into returning via that same relapse because a person's convoluted corruption is easier to label evil (or even animal) than it is to even try and understand.

But let me tell you something:

When my dog of 19 years passed away, my parents built a garden around the spot where I last saw him (it was outdoorsy yet mostly bricked).
I'd be lying if I said that garden didn't help me get through the shitty side of this year.

Real life is hell even if you have social skills, as dealing with normgroids is hell in itself.
Honestly, i wouldn't even be surprised if they were lowly demons wearing human skin.
And my only copeful solace with situation is that nowadays they suffer too and hopefully will in next life if there is such thing.

Two things.

Have a hobby or interest that gets you out the house sometimes.

And have something that is driven by your own improvement in it that gives you internal validation when you make progress.

For a long time both of those things for me was martial arts. It's something I can consistently refine and always had some little thing I could get better at. It also got me out the house because the best way to make progress was sparing other people and having my instruction overseen by a master of the art I was learning.

But it could be something else like a interest in the visual arts. Going to museums, trying your hand at different mediums. Learning the basics then expanding out from there. Eventually building up enough of a body of work that you can look at where you started and where you are now and be satisfied in the progress you made, all while still having goals to work towards.

Hell, you could take up "content creating" in your own little way to try and make the internet a little better.

I enjoy drawing but i'd be lying if i said i don;t think all this new AI stuff kind of devalues putting any real effort into it. Feel too old to find a new hobbie now.

Same for me. I do have the real life social skills but social life still seems awful, i'm glad i don't have one.

>You know how there have been cities that relied on a single industry for employment and then when that industry pulled out of the city the city went to shit? That's how I feel.

Interestingly enough i visited such a city this summer. It was an old city build by the east-germans to produce iron and it was filled with commieblocks and despair. Terrible atmosphere, stressed out needy people, nervous drug dealers standing around at street corners. meanwhile where i live it's getting pretty end-of-timey as well, there are big shopping centers not far from where i live and about exactly half the stores closed down but those were all soulless chain-stores. the little independent stores managed by actual people (not by absentee investor owners who are only in it to milk passive income) where i live for some reason seem to do well though. they were not destroyed by the ripples of the covid theater.

the one nice thing that stuck during the last years of internet decline is skating. is a sport and an artform. it is both exercise and entertainment. i can spend doing it all day. sitting in front of the computer now that it is too cold to skate is awful.

that's bullshit, it just feels that way because of the digital habit gravity. while is nice to have a video of everything available at your fingertips, is some actual real world experiencing is not happening, something is missing.

have you been to the trampolin park?
