 No.315177

So I'm in FL, I evacuated a little north to get out of central florida. I'm at my mother's house and I'm starting to get an awful lot of cabin fever. Normally I kill time by fooling around on ChatGPT and complaining about my life problems but oftentimes I grow bored of that. What else is there to do to pass the time, either with comfort or entertainment? Any recommended snacks, shows, bedroom setups, music?

I would try to add more detail to this question, forgive me, but this antsiness is even affecting my mind, I hope it doesn't bother you, maybe some of you could add more detail to your questions to make up for it.

>fooling around on ChatGPT and complaining about my life problems
What manner of complaining? I have a habit of writing my petulance down. Slept badly, struggled with dry eyes, hurt the bridge of my nose with glasses, scratched my cheek, spent too much time preparing breakfast, slouched, forgot opening the window. Then I read my diaries and brood moodily about my shitty life in general.

 No.315179

Spend some quality time with your mother. Watch the animated Hobbit film.

don't watch anything, instead find something useful to do. find something interesting in the house and try to find out how it makes. if it is easy enough, disassemble it, clean it, assemble it. that's a nice way to learn about a thing.

even where i live, half a globe away, it is expectionally windy. i have a special durable umbrella that is tested in the wind tunnel towithstand strong winds. i go out skating with that umbrella, it is somewhat like surfing. i try to catch some winds and have them drag me for a bit.

 No.315182

I agree witth >>315181. Ttake apart your mother's refrigerator and her iPad. Give her an umbrella and send her halfway across he globe. It is your house now.

🤣

i'm all in favor for taking apart ipads. i'm really heading out to the wind now. average wind speed here is supposed to be 29km/h!!! 20 km/h is the speed at which the wind is strong enough so i can use it to roll forwards without propelling myself so this should be a fun one.

i dunno how it translates to miles/hour

stupid rain. weather forecast is so unreliable. it was too wet so no rolling with the wind occurred.

Personally, I would take up a hobby or something, when you get back, at the very least you get to know boomers, which is better than nobody. I know that this is an odd question, but I am also in central Florida, I rode the storm out, though.

Personally, I would just watch old Top Gear episodes from the 2000s and early 2010s (especially since James May was a wizard too), listen to Ritchie Blackmore's Rainbow and eat fruit and vegetables (both fresh and dried).

Excuse me for blogposting, but, even though it is a great/popular hobby among boomers in Central Florida, avoid radio-control aircraft. The glowies are watching it like a hawk. I know because I stuck with the hobby since I was a kid (thanks mom and dad), but now they require you to register your name and identity and state how many aircraft you possess and must be tracked at all times if you want to do the hobby *legally* (I do not and the Feds can get me if they want to). Too much hassle and too much risk for being prosecuted (not having a tracker warrants a $250,000 fine).

If you are coming down soon, we could try to meet up. I live in Southern Brevard County and I fly from Fred Poppe Park.

how come there are no updates op? don't let the hurricane win. hurricane is a bitch.

Back this up with proof.

He was 37 before marriage and there was an episode of Top Gear where he said he had lived alone for most of his life. I forget the season and episode number but it was from 2005-2009, not one of the Dacia episodes, though.

>He was 37 before marriage
>there was an episode of Top Gear where he said he had lived alone for most of his life

Not an entirely unreasonable conjecture based weak evidence. Any other proof?

 No.315234

>>315233
That is the most I have but there is some weaker evidence like some passing mentions that he was the black sheep of the family (I forget where this came from) and that he was quieter/much less sociable than his siblings (this was brought up several times, but I recall a story about his brother cutting off the head of a doll his sister had gotten).

This one is also somewhat weak, but May is an avid fan of railway modelling, having hosted and been on several television shows on the subject. I read somewhere that this hobby was unattractive, but I am not sure how trustworthy this is, but knowing that over 99% of people in the hobby are men (it is pretty obvious when going to the train show), it might not be all that unlikely.

I guess that describes me quite well. I just have been holding off on buying trains for years. I want to get into Marklin Mini Club stuff, specifically. (These are some of the smallest that you can buy commercially and I really like them for that reason).

This gives you a sense of size: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XfflePYi3T4&ab_channel=Railway187UK%26Sovietmodeltrains

On the other hand, this is their newest announcement, it is much larger, being Gauge 1: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lRM1VaD5NpQ&ab_channel=M%C3%A4rklinInternational

Sounds comfy. I never thought about doing that. I might see what the prices are for a steam locomotive day trip in a little bit, as I want to ride the locomotive in question.

Depending on how high your budget goes, some trains like the Orient Express have cabins that put the best Ritz Carltons and Waldorf Astorias to shame.

They were made by oldschool craftsmen in an era that valued true opulence.
If I ever had the money, I'd rather take a 3 day trip in one of these than spend a week in a fancy hotel.

not the same guy but I also want to travel in the orient express and travel through northen europe to venice, but it costs a lot of money (>1000 bucks) and you must wear suits

Japan also has one, the Kyushu Blue Moon. Even the dining area is something out of this world, something you wont even see in a super fancy hotel.

Looks nice, unfortunately, America has nothing that compares. I was hoping that there was something closer, but it seems like I need to go to Europe or Japan.

America had the famous Pullman railroad cars. I don't know if any of them are offered up as an experience today though.
