It is common that this happens to people. It most strongly depends on your mental state, your environment, etc. The strain and route of administration have an impact too.
It would be best if you can address any issues that it draws your attention to.
Maybe you should take an extended break from it.
You could try to ensure that you are taking it in a way that is beneficial for you: i try to remind myself that even if i am working hard to improve my circumstances, it is still most optimal if i try to let go, relax and rest sometimes.

Unpopular opinion, weed itself has changed as has the whole social environment surrounding it.
20 years ago I had a blast getting high and walking around the mall all afternoon. You'd do a little puff puff pass at the party and everyone would feel great.
Now these social events don't happen because people are far less social, but I'm also just older.
One hit of this gen z weed has me on my ass. I don't think it smells the same either.
Allegedly it's 3x stronger than the home grown dirt weed we had years ago.
States have also capitalized the crap out of it, so a lot of the "dude weed lmao" mystique has worn off.

Weed used to come with a dose of PCP until recently. 4/20 blissful unlaced cannabis is still the best drug and king for hikikomori. It still does have a certain amount of lace at a certain price in Japan. It's 120$ a quarter, regular is $20 a quarter. Now you get a lot of the regulated flower from mom and pop grows at the dispensary that smoke really easy and nice and the high is good and not hard on you. Sometimes you can get loud or sherm there under the counter at dispensaries for too much money. Eat munchies watch movies good on the regular. Get taco bell on grubhub good but don't let the deliveryman know you're high or the cops will hem you up. If money is a problem then weed is a no go. But I want to smoke regular all day with no lady and eat a shit load of good beef and shit with the rent and electric paid off myself. A good living is paramount to a good time smoking.

>>318667I am not sure what you mean. From what I know it's shock after traumatic experience. Like after a car accident. The only difference is after smoking weed people confuse this shock derealization with being high. They think they still somehow feel high despite THC being out of their system. This makes them think there is something permanently wrong with their brain now and it causes more shock and derealization, you get a self sustaining process. Only way to get out of this mess is to allow yourself to chill and stop thinking about it.
All in all it makes me super annoyed when people portray weed as pure bliss and solution to all problems while in reality it's extremely dangerous substance that should always come with shitload of warnings like cigarettes. I'd rather drink few beers and enjoy my alcohol buzz.

Alcohol gets filtered very fast through my system and I don't get the reported effects. I'm the guy who can drink a quarter liter of straight vodka and not get a hangover or a lasting drunkness. Wether it's from having a strong mental mind zone or from physical genetics Im not quite sure.
Cigorattes,Vape, Nicotine - fucks my teeth up. Bad taste in mouth unlike that of the more natural weed smell/taste until drinking or eating. I don't feel as "boosted" as people report so I was able to quit pack a day smoking cold turkey.
Adderall/xannies/antidepressant/ssris - hurt my liver, makes me put on weight, almost 0 effect past first two weeks of usage.
Weed idk it just works and things like brain damaged or schizophrenia are so out of the question and far off to me. Again, idk if it's wether my mental zone is just strong or genetics but, this and shrooms both work very well for a cerebral person such as myself. It seems like I get more out of using them than the average norphroider dude weedster.

Has anyone found a way to get interested and immersed in things on the same level as on weed, but without using weed?
Weed makes me want to read about things I see, research them, and makes me "feel" the connection between what I've researched and what I'm seeing if that makes sense. For example if I play vidya on weed, I get much more involved in the game, almost like I'm really in it. Normally there's like an invisible wall between me and the screen, weed takes that wall away.

No.319852
>>319801Problem with that sensation is that it doesn't make you smarter, more knowledgeable about the subject or more competent at the activity, it just 'feels' that way. It's simply an enhanced form of escapism. The curiosity doesn't come from within but is externally motivated by a substance which restructures neurological processes. The idea that weed improves the engagement with the world is a fallacy. Yes, it can give you a great experience short term but it fires back especially if you try to compensate depression with it.Another way to get interested into things again and immerse yourself requires hard work, there's no way around it. It requires waiver of instant gratification behaviours, and slowly building a mental setting that allows you to immerse again without hesitation. Other things in life need to be set, your mental health should be stable.

>>318527Weed's effectiveness is extremely dependent on personality. For me it has been a miraculous wonder drug even long-term (while still being able to enjoy life sober mostly), but I know that not everyone gets the same effect from it. My friend that tried it just felt sluggish and confused. Alcohol in comparison seems to give people a much more common and uniform enjoyment.
By far the worst part about weed is the culture. Stoners at large are insufferable people that speak like baboons. As someone who has viewed the culture from the inside, the stereotype is real and finding reasonable people within it to discuss weed with is impossible. I think it might become better as weed becomes more normalized around the world.
Besides obvious stuff like curing anhedonia and making bad media fun, I use it as a way to inject an artificial dose of "meaning" into my life. If you feel like your life is aimless and wandering through side quests, weed puts you back on the rails of an illusory main quest that doesn't exist.
In the beginning, I did actually learn some important about myself and my life and where I should be headed, but after integrating those lessons with my life it became more of a purely recreational/antidote thing. It's also a great window into feeling like a kid again.
The only downside is that it kind of "borrows" dopamine from the next day. I don't know if it's due to having ADHD and having bad dopamine receptors, but the price you pay for getting high one day is that the following day feels notably dull. It's not that serious though, and you snap out of it the day after that.

you know you can smoke a tiny doobert smaller then a cigarette once a month, sit on your bed and meditate or walk through nature and not have it negatively impact you.
if you do it more often then once a month i wouldn't smoke it because the smoke is horrible for your health even if you inhale through a filter with the utmost care and gentleness. what else is the subconscious supposed to do to reach someone ignorant and stupid who is being tricked? how to shake someone who is being tricked when everyone around is in on the con and affirm his tricked personality…
>It's well known among schizophrenics weed makes this dramatically worse.why you are people schizophrenics though? there is no need for that. i don't think people become schizophrenics because of genetics, bad lack or pure outside influence. people become schizophrenics the same way they forget to bring a jacket in the autumn, because they are stupid and they make mistakes. and while anyone can make a mistakes, people who are willing to learn only make mistakes once or twice.

can you (or one of your personalities who is currently driving you while you sit co-pilot) explain how does this differ from just being unconscious? i say it doesn't. unconscious people refuse to question things so they don't question themselves. they don't question their behavior or even pay much attention to it, so they will never catch themselves doing things they didn't plan to do.

I also need to basically take a dose intended for a baby or a toddler, which is difficult when weed becoming stronger and stronger.i am looking forward to do it in the winter again. for the longest time i didn't do it around people because people get very strange when you are in tune with your unconditioned self while they are not. they unleash all the evil on you that was done to them, act like they are friendly while making fun of you and purposefully violate all your boundaries. if you don't have a lot of life experience in dispelling evil it will be awful so i'd do it alone as a beginner.
and to get the dose right don't smoke it, smoking is unhealthy anyways. buy a small jar of coconut oil and turn the weed into oil:
i do it by first baking the weed at low temperature for 40 minutes and then put the baked, ground weed into the oil where i keep it at a low temperature for 3 hours, then after letting it cool a bit i pour it through a tiny strainer into a glass jar where it can remain while i discard the remaining plantmatter.
i make a very weak oil from it and then take a teaspoon and it will be consistently weak, perfect to do creative stuff or enjoy music or take it easy after a while or walk through nature. i am so glad i chose weed and not alcohol now that i am a bit older and have seen plenty of people who went with alcohol.

I think I always just thought of weed as harmless. It's not like acid which can cause bad trips depending on the quality which makes it kind of a crap shoot. Bad trips are actually really disturbing sometimes because your concepts of what reality is get affected by the drugs and that can stick with you, but weed isn't like that. At most you will see some patterns with your eyes closed when listening to music or something, you don't actually trip. Your experience of reality remains unchanged, but your own thoughts may change in ways that are pleasurable and beneficial. Weed helps me feel emotions more strongly, and when I was first starting out I found it to be really thought accelerating and causing creativity. You might have bad experience because of anxiety, but honestly, most of my life has been bad experiences, I'm used to that, IDK about you but I'd be willing to chance it knowing in the end you will come out safe.
