I dont know if its a good tip for everyone but it worked for me, dont treat yourself too hard straight from the beginning because that way there are higher chances that you wont be able to keep enough willpower and just remove it. I started with limiting myself to 2 hours daily, after a month or so went down to 1 hour and now Its only 30 minutes a day.

Sure, I 100% dropped image/message boards, didn't replace them with more time sinks, and instead put work into improving my living area. I was able to come back a couple months later and be responsible about it, but it's like anything that's a problem: cutting back on alcohol, porn, crack, etc might not be enough (gotta go cold turkey).
