How common is it (if it IS even common) for men whom don't really believe\ not 100% in a religion, to join a monastery local of said religion, just to be lifetime NEETs? I know monastics DO work -manual labor- at least the orthodox\ catholic ones, but in general terms…

Most can't handle it and I'm dead serious here. If you can't meditate in a room with no electronics for an hour.. two hours… four hours a day, there is no hope for dedicating an entire life to it.
