I wonder what they're going to do about people using older operating systems like Windows XP/7/8, will they somehow try to shoehorn it into those operating systems, or maybe just cut them off from the internet altogether? What about devices without cameras? It seems impossible to actually implement effectively.

I unironically believe it will be worse and worse now each year until you basically cant enter Internet without some ID i.e. you will be prosecuted if you try to circumvent via VPN or similar or you need som kind of cloud token to even pass the ISP. I am not what is possible, but if they put their mind to it I am certain they will come up with something.

The OS I am not so afraid of as old copies will always be found, but I suppose new hardware will eventually prevent installing what you want at some point. Like you need to "root it" like some kind of phone.

This is not correct. MidnightBSD is a BSD system. It has no Linux kernel nor a GNU core library/utilities basis. The BSD license is a permissive license, not copyleft, so it is not even philosophically aligned. Not that it matters much.

I read the bill and am I misunderstanding it? It seems like it only applies to minors. Not that you need to give ID to use a computer but that instead: you set it up like normal, when it asks for a birthdate, if you say you're a minor you turn need a parent account (maybe then you'd need to give an ID?) but it doesn't seem crazy. I better be wrong

oh it is way worse then that, you have not even understood half of it. not only is whole music scene about money, it is about brainwashing people into acting against their own interest. that is what it is all about. if it was all about the money, this would imply the people paid for it. a lot of it only looks like people pay for it but the money comes from other sources. it's not music fans making the people in the charts rich. trace the money all the way back and what you will not find is teenager spending their allowance on mumblerapper. you will find a bit of ticket sales money that you can trace and the rest is obfuscated from you.

Im more worried about 90% of people not being worried about it. For the longest time I dual booted Debian and W7 (without telemetry) which I both had to manually disable updates for, and only used degoogled LineageOS with replacement core Jewgle Services if absolutely needed to.
