Anime and Japan didn't "make" trannies. In fact, some of the oldest accounts of "sissy culture" happened to be of guys who were obsessed with American children's media. It's just that with how accessible anime and manga is to the West now, we see a lot more of these trannies finding things from Japan to latch on to. Just as "car guys" are now fans of car anime, war guys are fans of war anime, etc. Every niche and interest has its own cake slice of new entertainment from the localization boom, including trannsexuals.
