>normalfag: people who generally lead normal lives and have a social life, its connotation varies widely between users; aliases include normie or normal
>its connotation varies widely between users
what id for you a normalfag? I'm asking this because I'm not sure anymore about the definition; enlighten me

 No.215977

no one but feds uses it anymore so it doesnt matter

 No.215978

It's a spectrum and each person lies somewhere on the abnormal-normal line. The exact cutoff point for a "normalfag" is somewhat arbitrary. People that consider themselves wizards will usually think that people more normal than them are normalfags. So if you have a job and drive a car but you're a virgin, you'll say a normalfag is someone that had sex and an active social life. If you're a basement dweller NEET with no life experience, you would consider the previous wizard a normalfag because he's relatively more normal than you. But then there might an even more abnormal wizard that lives in complete filth and thinks those that take regular showers and voice chat on Discord are normalfags. The normalfag cutoff line gets pushed around based on the person's relative position in the abnormal-normal spectrum.

As far as this imageboard is concerned, a normalfag is someone that is a non-virgin. But even that could be pushed, as many people that have had sex a few times still feel like they belong here and that it didn't change anything for them. To them perhaps a normalfag is, I don't know, a hypersocial successful person that has lots of sex money and status, or that doesn't relate to the doomer sadboi meme.

hmm hmm I see thank you. but now I want to know who used the word 'normalfag' for the first time and what was the first definition bind to it
>>215977
if it is a obselete word, then what matters now is not to think who's a normalfag or not but WHO's a non-wizard or not, right?

 No.215982

>>215981
I believe the original use of the term was simply people that don't use imageboards or disapprove of imageboard antics like gore and saying nigger and what not. People that get easily shocked by stuff on the Internet because they're an outsider. These days you would say NPC, like just the average clueless joe from the street. Then /r9k/ culture appropriated the term to mean the popular people with friends and girlfriends. I don't know, it's not an exact term, it was always just a "vibe".

 No.215991

> I'm not sure anymore about the definition
It depends on the community. Since this is an awful and divided community, "normalfag" here basically means something different for every single anon.
It's a shitshow.

>It's a spectrum and each person lies somewhere on the abnormal-normal line
so like a spectrum, it has extremities and such some being on the extreme of the spectrum. so we can easely tell who's anormalfag or not. and also a grey zone in the middle of the spectrum, which is ir difficult to say who's a normalfag or not.

 No.215993

>>215992
Most people are not on the extremes and the majority is in the grey zone, hence the predicament of where to draw the line. The only deal-breaker on wizchan is having sex or perhaps actively going to parties and social gatherings, everything else seems like fair game to the moderation. The users vary in where they draw the line and like I said, seems to be relative to one's own position on the spectrum.

not having batshit crazy or weird parents is a start, another defining thing for normalfags is that they (their family) usually doesn't change location as children.

For me personally I'd say people leaning towards extraversion while being relatively "normal" mentally. Having sex can be one of indicators however a lot of people here still would be asocial spergs even if they weren't virgins and such I wouldn't classify them as normies.

Also I wouldn't call people who are like borderline, bipolar, etc normies even if they have families, jobs and such, extreme personalities are out of the norm.

wow you actually wasted your breath to write this all out. that's absolutely correct.

maybe we should go on and make a clear cut definition. say, a normalfag is anyone who follows standard route of life. that is school, uni, job, marriage, car, flat, children. afaik these are the essential milestones. the objective of a normalfag is to have the described normal life. normalfag is convinced it is the only way to live a life normally. ironically, he's probably right.

this would allows us to more clearly frame those who look like normalfags, but are psychopaths/sociopaths under the hood. their seemingly normal life would actually be motivated by gasligthing, manipulation, and ultimate desire for power and domination.

not sure however. wast majority of normalfags want power and domination to some degree. most are incompetent and can't achieve it, the rest are fine settling at some specific amount of it. psychopath/sociopath would be so to say an extreme case of it, when the desire becomes ultimate goal and is combines with natural predisposition to achieve it.

perhaps. needs much more elaboration i think.

 No.218177

The thing with the word normalfag is, that for every group of people, different people are considered normal.
>If you are on wizchan, the cutoff between normal and not normal is probably along the lines of having a joyful life with friends and relationships.
>If you're in a support forum for people with physical abnormalities, you'd consider physically non-deformed people as normalfags.
>If you're big into If you're a Stormfag, like they existed in 2010, you'd consider people, who don't believe in Neo-Nazi ideology a normie/normalfag/normal.
>If you're big into japanese visual novels from the PC-98 era and you talk with similar people, the outgroup are the normal people.
>If you're into the warez scene or demoscene, you consider people without those connections and technical abilities the lamers, or normalfags.
I don't think you can really define the word in such a way, that it suits all people. What's normal is always relative to what group you compare that too. For example warez scene people nowadays are often married men with children and a house, but they'd still considered normal by the definition of the Wizchan FAQ, despite them probably being abnormal in some way (not to mention, they'd consider themselves abnormal and everybody else a lamer, in other words a normalfag).

I think a normalfag he's first a social word to describe people who have friends, gf, family, etc…so people who play d&d can be seen as normalfag because they have friends and a social relation but they are seen as weirdos/nerds by chad and stacey (who are obviously normalfags). you're right, the word can describe a lot of group of people who are/aren't normalfags but I believe there's blatant ints on who is a normalfag. you can see it when you go outside for exemple

Ignore the chart aspect and focus on the idea of this picture, notice that being normal is just that: normal, it means sharing in the common experience expected to most people you share this cursed earth with.
Note that the idea itself should go a bit further than just having done normal, common, typical or expected stuff, it should go into the ideas, thoughts and behaviors to be as normal as possible, to prioritize cohesion, show some semblancy of empathy (even if fake), and to basically be a sheep without originality. Not question laws, trust news, etc.

It's just a description that befits someone, it's like calling someone a communist because they believe in communist ideals. You can stop being or become a normalfag just according to how well it fits to describe you.
