There is a very good chance I will become homeless in the near future, what should I do to prepare and what should I do to survive? I appreciate all your answers and advice, stay strong, my brothers.

[–]  No.220604

There should always be a church somewhere willing to take you in. Can you find a place like that? They should be able to provide you with shelter or refer you to someone who can. They should also be able to provide you with food or refer you to someone/someplace that can. You shouldn't have to be homeless. Sending prayers to you.

I used to fear being homeless but then I realized if you live in any first world city, there are so many social programs to get you back on your feet if you really want it.
The people you see on the street are either mentally ill, drug addicts, just like being on the street, or a combination of all 3.

It's impossible to be homeless in Nordic countries unless you explicitly want to. There are hordes of social workers that will literally hand guide you to a private apartment of your own and fill out the forms that allow you to get a few hundred euros of free money monthly.

It wont be a luxurious place but it will have a kitchen, bathroom, fridge, sleeping area. About 400sqft in size and among normal ordinary citizens.

If it's in any way a option then yeah, don't be homeless.
If you will end up homeless take every step you can to make being homeless as short as possible given your situation.
Being homeless, despite what RP posters who haven had to do it say, fucking sucks ESPECIALLY for wizardly types.

>Being homeless, despite what RP posters who haven had to do it say, fucking sucks ESPECIALLY for wizardly types.
No, your fearmongering still has no merit to this day. I'm sorry you feel that "wizard types" are perpetually frightened pants-shitting goobabies, but the reality is that we're just grown men who can endure just as much if not more hardship than any "normal" guy. The advice from us "larpers" (Guys who have actually been homeless at some point) has always been to the benefit of all, whereas your advice can be deduced to "Don't be homeless, and if you are, be scared forever and hide or the evil wraiths of normalfaggotry will sniff out your virginity and set you on fire because of it!". That's not hyperbole either; you 100% believe that being a virgin man on the street is a death sentence and have dedicated so much time to bringing guys here down to your pathetic level.

I'm sorry you had a bad experience on the streets as a result of your own cowardice and failure to adapt, but you are the odd one out. Your fright and plight just isn't applicable to anyone else. OP didn't even suggest that he has any real issue with his potential homelessness. He knows that to be a hobo adds just a few more steps to finding a place to lay his head and to boil his water. He's asking for advice that will help him fulfill his basic needs. He's not asking anyone to affirm any fears or paranoia he may have about the lifestyle, because that doesn't help anyone. And yet that's all you ever seem to contribute to these threads.

been homeless for a year and about to be homeless in 2 weeks again. what made it most enjoyable was traveling across the country, and living in the wilderness. being homeless in urban areas just feels yucky i couldnt stay in urban areas for too long. when homeless you dont want to carry too much shit. i didnt even have a sleeping bag/tent i would just wear 3 layers of clothes or sleep next to a campfire if i was out of urban areas. mosquitos suck ass a fire will keep them at bay but fire draws human attention so buy mosquito repellant and spray it all over u before u go to sleep. you might find it fun learning how to forage and often being at risk of getting killed by wild animals.

Wage slave enough to buy a car. Ideally a van or minivan. Get a 12 volt fridge/freezer and a small camp stove. First find some morning pooping spots then find some parking spots that look likely. You'll want to move around so that you don't use any spot more than a couple times per year. Park in public streets with other cars out there, not in the suburbs where people have garages and shit. They will be way more likely to notice you there and call the cops. Whatever you do, avoid shelters as much as possible unless you have no other resort. You can get their services like food and other supplies, but don't bother with their shelter. Imagine being confined with the worst lowest form of normalfag and treated as one of them by the tardwranglers. These people are barely functioning, often with all sorts of problems including anger and impulse control problems.

This is how every civilized country should be

[–]  No.222010>>222011

my experience living rough is things you take for granted end up being a massive inconvenience that makes it hard to be comfy. like, i squatted in a run down shit hole house for a while and even though it was fine for shelter the two things that sucked most were the bugs and lack of lighting at night. so I fixed that by buying a bug net to sleep under and getting motion activated lights that stick to walls. then i could wander around the house at night and there would be lights. it made it many times easier to do shit. and being under the bug net i could finally get comfortable enough to sleep without worrying that a spider would crawl over me.

i was never homeless. the most i did was break into abandoned house and live in them for a while. did that for a year. before my situation changed. the other thing that i underestimated was cold. like holy fuck, when you have no power and sleep somewhere that is as well insulated as being outside it goes right through you. and you'll never be able to sleep when you're that cold. i never managed to get my clothing right not to freeze my ass off every night. but there must be a way to do it.

so if i were to be homeless this is what id buy:
- bug net to sleep under
- a layered clothing system that actually works (and most shit doesnt because everything these days is a scam but they make clothes for arctic conditions so something out there must work)
- small solar powered light with some usb-c chargers on it + good flash light

this has been more useful than i admit:
- graphite dust (for lubricating locks – it makes them easier to pick)
- a quality lock picking kit
- shoes with a hidden compartment in them (you can keep shit in it and it will never be searched)

also, think of practical shit too like keeping your wallet secure. they can make rings and bracelets that have chips in them for doing swipe credit card payments. you can even get chips embedded in your own body but thats a bit over-kill.

final notes: if you have a back pack expect it to be stolen. i feel like if you chose clothes properly you could choose clothes that have tons of pockets and hidden compartments that would be better than having a backpack. a small tarp and bug net would fit in that easily. and layered clothing would be like wearing the sleeping bag on you.

What exactly is someone here going to need to hide from the police that is small enough to fit inside a shoe pocket? Gold ore? SD cards with valuable government secrets? SD cards with valuable government pokemon loli porn? Are you some ghetto junkie hood nigger who needed his crack even when homeless?

get a knife, note down the local soup kitchens and social service offices and most importantly find a group to hang out with on day one, you'll regret it if you dont. depending on the state or city this might be easier or harder. this is only if you dont have a car to sleep in and cant find a job.

Two options
Dude is just adding in nonsense he read/heard somewhere like those dumb spy magazine tips that were all the rage in the early 00s
Or
The answer is actually drugs.
You can hide enough drugs to keep you from getting dope sick in lockup.

>>shoes with a hidden compartment in them (you can keep shit in it and it will never be searched)

Quite a few things. You can store a chip for your credit card in there. Backup funds so if you get mugged they won't get all your shit. Small illegal items do fit in there, btw (lock picks fit in mine) and police don't think to check this area.

Didn't just list this idea because im larping. There used to be this classic pair of shoes that had an inbuilt compartment in the toe that you stashed your weed in. But yeah, there's other uses for it. They released the same shoes and I've got a few pairs (though all too small for me now.) Also, a good place for a backup house key.

>and police don't think to check this
If they are booking you for more than a night or sending you to the jail proper then they will just straight up take your shoes as well as all other personal affects until you leave.
The only time they wouldn't take your shoes is if they are just putting you in the holding pin/cell or drunk tank.

>DISCLAIMER: I have never been homeless
I believe the best would be an area that's in between wilderness and somewhat civilized, so you can go between the two. Get a fire starter that will last for a long time, such as a ferrorod, they're inexpensive. Learn to forage fatwood, a little will go a long way for starting fires. Get a book about local edible flora and mushrooms.

Where I live there's a bunch of communal garden areas where people grow vegetables. In a pinch you could steal some of those, but otherwise those places usually have water taps that can be opened with a portable key, kind of squareish. Get one of those, possibly one with several sizes, you will be able to wash yourself and your clothes there at night.

Hang in the woods and straight out steal from campers whatever you need.

I have a few books on wild edible plants.

The thing is, besides a small few root vegetables and fruit, basically all of it has almost no calories and won't keep you alive.
Mushrooms are even worse, because not only do they have close to zero calories but a single slip up in identification can kill you or make you extremely sick. Making mushrooms not worth even looking at in survival situations.
Like a pound of the stuff will have around 10 calories.
It isn't worth your time.

Fruit, etable roots, meat.
Those are the things that have enough calories to keep you alive as well as worth your time and effort.
All other plants could be seen as seasoning or vitamin supplements.

That said, this isn't homeless advice.
Homeless advice would be to just go get free food that is handed out to homeless and poor people, which is a thing in all developed areas and even most deloping areas, or dumpster dive.
It's a far easier, more consistent, and depending on time of year, higher quality source of food.
No need for theft at all.

Honestly food was never the hard part of being homeless. It's a tossup between the weather, people, and utter lack of security/stability that is the hard part.

Me too there is a very real chance that I become homeless but in the third world, you guys gotta help me find some sort of online gig and some type of online way to store money out of my bank account that my parents don't know about. But that I can easily access.

[–]  No.222024>>222038

>>222022
You are a adult.
You can open your own private bank account.
Also debit cards, like the refillable ones sold at the store, are super convent and quite private.

If living with family ain't working out I would also start applying to anything related to housing, job, or welfare that you qualify for in your area. Even if there isn't much, even one acceptance to a single program and make a huge difference in your quality of life.

Can't help with the job thing though. Only online jobs I know of that aren't full of scams require pretty specialized skills.
There is also ultra low paying junk work online, but that won't put a roof over your head even in the 3rd world.

[–]  No.222038>>222040

>>222024
Thanks for writing this. I can open a bank account in my name, but I have to put an address for mailing and receiving official documents and since I share the roof with my parents they'd know when I receive my mail. As for programs, I don't qualify for any programs here, and even if I would in my country it is very likely to make no difference at all.

[–]  No.222040

>>222038
Any family or friends that you are on better terms with that will let you use their mailing address?

Not sure if you can afford a PO box in your current situation with no income, but if you do start having money come in then a PO box is a good option.

is…is that just for people with citizenship or is it available to any EU citizen? I'm Irish and it sounds nice
