The internet, video games and porn set me up for failure in my youth. I preferred to do that over actual productive things that would help my future.

As I got older I started drinking alcohol which solidified my lazy habits for over a decade. I have given up all of those things, but not really by choice. I fapped so much that it has become boring to me, and the internet and video games are so shit now that i have no interest in them. Alcohol is the only thing I chose to consciously give up, and without video games, porn or the internet If ind myself just gravitating towards productive things. Things I should've done 15 years ago.

I really should've listened to people who said the internet and video games made you lazy but I was young and thought I knew better than everyone. Didn't help that it was so easy to find people who agreed with my delusional nonsense online.

This is going to sound weird but I don't think you could've done all those things 15 years ago. Your brain wasn't ready. Best you could do at the time to deal with the life you had was drinking, porn and vidya. You would've changed earlier if you could've. Some people reach that point earlier, some later and some not at all.
